Good win. Great fight and sacrifice from the lads tonight

Bad game for the heart.

1-0 FT

Wild game. Terrible 1st half but ahead. Created numerous chances in the 2nd half but missed them all. Maignan saved a pen to ensure a win.

Need a quality striker in Jan so bad. Nkunku on evidence so far looks like another in the long list of Redbird flop signings.

Didn’t realize but Allegri’s mentor, Giovanni Galeone, passed away today. I’m sure Allegri will dedicate this win to him. RIP

Pioli gonna get fired again. That scudetto was a fluke, likely to be his only ever trophy.

According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, Fiorentina are leaning towards parting ways with Pioli as soon as possible but are aware of the hefty severance payout needed to terminate the Italian’s €3.2m per season deal until 2028.

Wow! Not for fans with heart problems! Insane intensity. First 30 minutes was seasons worst. Banter era stuff, but after the goal everything changed. We finsished the match with over 4 in XG. To not bury any of those chances are criminal. Fofana should buy Maignan a new car after this match. two 100% chances fuck up, and madd the penalty for Roma with that coward move.

You must love Strahinja. What a monster. To be right there on that counter as a CB in a three man defence takes courage. He was almost flawless in defence too. I real leader and my MVP despite Maignans penalty save.

I can see some worrying signs in Modric. He certaintly needs and deserves a break. He is still good, but lacks a bit of that insane quality of the first matches. Nkunku also dissapoints. He is not a imposing player, invicible in large parts of the match. I would rather start RLC in attack. He offers at least a lot physicality who opens up space for the others.

Myt rating 1-10:

- Maignan. 7. That save was strong! Had a shaky moment in the first half, but good control on all crosses.
- De Winter: 6. Had a horrid time in the first half like many of the players, but played a lot better in the second. Looks stressed with ball to feet.
- Gabbia: 7. A heros performance. Commanding the backline and won dozens of all the Romas crosses. Just love tha passion and attitude.
- Pavlovic: 7,5. He was a monster. great rund for the goal, and defensively flawless.
- Saelemaekers: 6,5. Work horse. Passion player you must love. Lots of nice flicks and tricks too.
- Fofana: 5. What can you say? Horrible match! He has improved undr Allegri but this was a step back.
- Modric: 6. Startet the match in a bad way, surprising to say. But played better in the second halg. Looks a bit tired. Very understandable.
- Ricci: 6. He is in many ways to likewise Modric. We dont need two of these types. I would rather play RLC to be honest, but i love his work rate and passion!
- Bartesaghi: 5,5. Had a horrible 1 half. Like really horrible. but improved massively in the second, overall a underwhelming performance. Just 19, so up on the horse again.
- Nkunku: 5. Did little to nothing. Insane that he didnt get a goal on that corner. Just insane. Must improve a lot to be a starting player.
- Leao: 6,5. Fantastic run for the goal, full of confidence, but needs to be more composed. So manye chances burnt, it could have costed us the match. But good overall.

Forza Milan!

If the players are real pros there is a good lesson in this match: Poor starts should end.
If Allegri is a pragmatic good coach there is a lesson in this match: You can't stick to unpredictable underperforming players. Fofana not benched for next game is a very disappointing sign to me, regarding Allegri more than the team in general.

5 for Fofana is way too generous, considering what he did in this game. Maybe a 3 would be more fitting. It almost feels like he was trying everything to throw the game. (I was surprised that Allegri didn't take him off right away after that FK, or after that PK. I am sure that would have killed Fofana's morale, but I was really pissed and worried about our game at that moment not knowing what next he may do.)

HUGE 3 points. The first half was so bad that I thought that it was worse than our game against Atalanta (our worst of the season), but then everything was turned around. Still, you can see that we need a target CF and Modric needs support.

Our main guys will be back very soon. That fills my heart with hope and happiness.
