RE: Summer mercato 2015 - Mathias - 05-27-2015

One of our best first transfers would be Nigel de Jong, whom wants to sign a new contract. Spoke to one of his mates last week. He wants to know more about galliani's plans first before he signs tho..

and didn't he go to PSG for a low transfer fee? something like 14 or 15 million?

I dont know about that, but I read somewhere that he rejected Milan before. When he was very very young.

Only Galliani would call a new contract a transfer Big Grin

De Jong is like a new signing. If Saponara comes back then Saponara is like a new signing. Niang of course is a brand new signing.

I believe he went to PSG for 12mil.

I believe that he came to Milan and trained with the team when he was younger. (not sure what age) He left after a very short time because he was very young and was homesick.

I will absolutely lose it too if we were even linked to him. Honestly the only reason I want Carlo back is because we will have a chance at Verratti with him. That's of course if you believe that we will spend some massive amounts of money this year.

Verratti on loan with option to send him back? Smile

We'll get a clear idea of what'll happen after the elections.I personally see it as aweird ploy to get votes , CARLO 120M GRANDE MILAN VERRATTI MANDZUKIC QUALITY PLAYERS MEELAN ARE BACK...Then nothing but freebies business as usual

RE: Summer mercato 2015 - nefremo - 05-28-2015

I find it too good to be true myself. I just don't know how out of nowhere after losing 90mil this year we are now going to spend 100mil+. Maybe the takeover talk (which has died out) was really true and there really is investors. Maybe Berlu really woke up and realized how embarrassing we have become (to his image). Or maybe it's just all bullshit and it'll be back to what it was. I am hoping that it's one of the first two...it'll make things more interesting this summer and more exciting next season. BUT my common sense says "don't be stupid".

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Since last summers mercato, I've usually shared the same pessimism as you when it comes mercato time.

However, all I need to see is us signing Ancelotti, and then I know we will spend at least 80mln euros on players this summer, and I'll be very optimistic about the coming season. No way in hell Ancelotti will take over a team, even if it is his beloved Milan, to coach a bunch of average players like we have now, I guarantee he wouldn't.

I'm not sure if Berlusconi has had an epiphany or something, but I don't think this 100+mln euros to invest is coming from his pocket. I do believe that we've found investors, because we are also still going ahead very strongly with our stadium plans, and this will cost another few hundred million euros. No way Berlusconi will be spending this much out of his own pocket.

With 120mln euros we could have the strongest team in Italy on paper, by a mile, but we need to be smart about how we spend it. I would do something like this:

Attack: Ibrahimovic(10m+wages), Firmino (20-25m): I've taken him from Devs suggestion which I agree with, he's been a fantastic player. My alternative would be Douglas Costa (20-25m).
Midfield: Khedira (free), Gundogan(25m) or Verratti (25m)
Defense: Thiago Silva (20m), Doria (5-6m) has not been given a fair chance at marseille + wants to leave, can be mentored by Silva.

4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 is my suggested formation.

4-3-3
-----ELS------------------Ibra-----------Firmino/dCosta-------
-----Gundogan---------Khedira--------------Monty-------------
--DS----------T.Silva------------Doria------------Abate--------
-------------------------Lopez------------------------------------

or 4-3-2-1

------------------------------Ibra---------------------------------
-------------------Els--------------Firmino-----------------------
--------Gundogan-------Khedira----------Bonaventura--------
-DS----------------T.silva------------Doria-----------Abate-----
---------------------------Lopez----------------------------------

This would all depend on which formation Ancelotti decides to play with, and I'm not sure if Ibra would meet what he wants, but I'd personally love to have Ibra back.. We need a scudetto.

RE: Summer mercato 2015 - nefremo - 05-28-2015

Khedira is going to Juventus. It's all agreed from what I've seen.

Verratti's price will be in the range of 50mil I think. More or less. He is one of the best Italian midfielders right now I think and definitely the most unique (alongside Pirlo who is obviously at the twilight of his career) and with the most potential by far.
