RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ACMILAN1983 - 03-20-2011 (03-20-2011, 12:27 AM)Gabriel426 Wrote: After these past few games, it is pretty much confirm that Milan needs to clear out its midfield surplus and bring in one great CM and trusts the new blood of Merkel and Strausser. I disagree, we do need a midfielder or two to come in, but I don't see the need to lose Pirlo yet. In fact, he would have been perfect for the last couple of games as he can link midfield and attack and offers the creativity that we lack right now. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - abbeyleemania - 03-20-2011 Pirlo, Flamini and Seedorf should go. Pirlo can stay if he is willing to accept lower wage and small term contract. it doesnt look possible just because juve and inter are interested in him, consideirng Juve's will is bigger... Flamini gets very high salary and doesnt give nothing in return, Van Bommel at that age, is doing much better defensively. Flamini lacks last touches, he doesnt win balls as much as Gattuso, Gattuso offensively tries hard and does much better than Flamini lately, Flamini reckless tackles, he can get a red card any time, lose so many balls, refused to play at LB. Rotation player who get at 2-3 m euros at most, but at us he is a starter who earns 5.1 m euros a year. Seedorf passed it so need to go. One great 2 way midfielder and Trequartista should be enough for us. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - reza - 03-20-2011 I am not sure that he would be using Pirlo as much as some of us, Dev and others, may be thinking any how. I don't think there's any question more creativity helps. I think it's more a question if Pirlo actually fits in Allegri's plans not that if Pirlo could help the team. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 03-20-2011 Just about to say what Reza said. It is quite funny how MVB, who is older than Pirlo, actually fits into the current Milan than Pirlo. Like I said long ago, Pirlo must go simply bc he does not fit in rather than him losing his skills. Considering that what I posted, I think one great CM like Hernanes will be enough to improve the midfield. As you will have a starting three of Boateng, MVB and Hernanes. With a bench of Gattuso, Ambro, Merkel, Urby and Strausser. Then in defense, A startling four of Abate, Nesta, T. Silva and a good solid LB with the bench of Zambro, Antonini, Mexes, Yepes and Astori will be better than the one Milan have now. Strikers are fine as the are this year, as long as Pato finding and demanding to play to his strengths. I read some post here and was thinking if I was being biased because in my eyes it´s cristal clear the improvment.(03-17-2011, 09:31 PM)shegs Wrote: Marcelo? Taiwo? These guys aren't proper defenders! As attacking threats, yes but they are really bad at defending; horrible positioning, weak marking, you name any defensive flaws and the both of them possess them in abundance! Maybe they can improve that aspect at Milanello, but who knows? Mourinho(that wanted a LB badly before the season) is saying it. Brazilian press that always bashed Marcelo for his defensive efforts is saying it and people talk as if Marcelo is the same player of last season. Going forward no other LB is even near, and at the back he´s improving a lot. Plus, reading some opinions it looks like Marcelo is already at 28/29 years old and couldn´t even improve more... RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Kaka1899 - 03-20-2011 Reports say Milan and Cagliari have come to a deal for gk Federico Marchetti, who will join in June for 5 mil euro. Amelia will leave. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Beppe - 03-21-2011 we are heavely linked with Taye Taywo. who knows this player very good, is he good enough? RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ACMILAN1983 - 03-21-2011 (03-21-2011, 02:15 PM)Beppe Wrote: we are heavely linked with Taye Taywo. who knows this player very good, is he good enough? I'm not particularly convinced by him. A good athlete with a very powerful shot (has been compared to Roberto Carlos in the past), but I'm not sure he's solid enough defensively or disciplined enough tactically to be a great improvement to our team. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 03-21-2011 As sad as it sounds, being a good athlete is the first rule for any modern day footballer. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 03-22-2011 By the looks of it we might be in for a suprise this summer, I think Kaka may actually come back.. Galliani clearly stated he'd welcome kaka back with open arms, after an interview with gattuso on the balotelli matter (goal.com) he had also said he'd prefer for kaka to come back rather then balotelli.. This is concerning in a way because i know for a fact he won't come any cheaper then 25-30mill euros, which is half of what we sold him for but he's also been preforming as half the player he used to be. I'd like to see him back if he can preform close to his former level, but if not then Ganso or someone else would be a much better option. Taiwo? idk, as our main LB no, but if we had him as a back up option that would be great, he has a hard shot and has pace, also quite athletic has the traits of a modern day footballer but again with abate as our RB , not being to defensive minded with Taiwo on LB and abate as our RB that may leave huge gaps at the back, one of them at least must be more defensive minded. |
