RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 07-02-2011 (07-02-2011, 12:05 PM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote:(07-02-2011, 10:59 AM)Gabriel426 Wrote: 3 pts are 3 pts no matter if you win by a goal or by three. Like I said I thought the period in the first half was better mainly due to results and Milan did not drop points against relegation teams. Also, toward the end of a season, teams tend to play more attacking balls instead of parking the bus as they need the three points rather than one. That played a part in Milan scoring two to three goals game. Maybe Pirlo and Pato were missing in the first half, but MVB and Cassano only came in Jan, while Dinho was a failure since Sept. As I said earlier Liga is really not as weak as some give credits for beside the big two. While I would not say EPL was strong last year compare to a few yrs ago, they were still stronger than Serie A. Won't that concern you that Juve can outspend Milan despite all that? To me, that's worrying. Maybe not this or the next year, but if Juve can continue to generate more funds than Milan with no CL football and money toward building it's own stadium, what will happen if they become regular in CL with their own stadium? That's a long term concern and something that MGT should really look into it. As for Real, if Barcelona plays in another league, they probably would have won the treble last year with a bit of luck in CL. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 07-02-2011 There seems a HUGE misunderstanding on here..no1 least of all me wants us to over spend and go into debt...I just don't think that players and MGT should keep talking about how much money we don't have . Again I DON'T WANT US TO GO INTO DEBT ...DONT WANT IT..but the players and MGT should stop pleading poverty ..saying players is a bot general specifically Gattussos comment. It's not professional at all..and won't bring the price of any player down. Gattuso can lick my sweaty salty sack. I agree with everyone that has said that these 40+M for players etc is out of hand. I don't know why Im so calm this mercato but I have faith in Baldy. Let's start to worrry the second week of aug. And to my USA buddies have a great 4th be safe. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 07-02-2011 (07-02-2011, 03:19 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: No I'm not. In fact, I am proud that our team can win something (yeah only 1 scudetto, but better than Juve's zero tituli since 2006) without spending so recklessly. We talk about millions of euro, man, imagine what we can do with that huge amount of money... They can outspend us anytime they want, but all that I want is for us to win more than them. And see? Madrid is a joke, they spend more than Barca, yet win less. Spending many has no immediate consequence in winning titles, RIGHT SPENDING does. And I'm quite happy we got Mexes and Taiwo for free, Ibra for 24M in 3 years, Cassano and van Bommel for free, selling Borriello for 15M, and have prospect to sign a world-class midfielder for maybe cut-price... instead of throwing 50M for guys like Felipe Melo and Diego, or 48M to permanently sign the likes of Matri, Pepe, Quagliarella and Marco Motta. So instead of worrying about them, let's make them a joke. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 07-02-2011 That's pretty short sight thinking. Juve might be spending 50 mil on average to good players now but as I said, once they start playing in CL more and actually get a better coach, they will only have more money to spend and those great players will sign for them. As for Real, well, I really would not call them a joke as Barcelona plays in the same league as them, also, they are a level above Milan at the moment. I am not saying Milan won't strike a deal for a player or two that will improve the current squad till season starts, but to think that ey can keep finding bargains every summer is unreal. As I think this year is a sellers market more than a buyers market due to the FFP in the coming years. So? What are we gonna do? Dude, we're fans, not board. Juve has been crap in transfer since they were promoted again to Serie A, even when they're still in CL (2 or 3 years ago), and I see no reason why suddenly they will change their policy. Actually even with coach like Delneri and Deschamps (which I rate quite highly) they are still crap and clueless in transfer. And in case they are actually reach that level (just as you said, rich and attract all great players), 1. we are more than ready to compete with them, and 2. Serie A will be more competitive and has more worth to be won. Either are good... Quote:As for Real, well, I really would not call them a joke as Barcelona plays in the same league as them, also, they are a level above Milan at the moment. That's exactly why I said they were a joke. Barca spent less yet won more. It shows that you don't need big spending to win something; what you need is right spending. Barca spent their (not-so-big-)money on youth development... and they got Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Pique, Valdes, Busquet, Pedro, Bojan, Thiago, Jeffren et.al. and some trophies.... Madrid spent 150M on CR7 and Kaka and yet they only got 1 Copa Del Rey, they can't beat Barca, that's why they are exactly a joke. Quote:I am not saying Milan won't strike a deal for a player or two that will improve the current squad till season starts, but to think that ey can keep finding bargains every summer is unreal. As I think this year is a sellers market more than a buyers market due to the FFP in the coming years.I believe that our board are looking for bargain but if they can't find one and they still feel they need the player, they will surely splash the money. The key is we are not easily tricked into big-money signing by the small teams who ransomed their star players to squeeze our money. For example in Hamsik's case, if board (and Allegri) truly want him, I believe in late August we may see him moving with about 35-40M price tag, but that's if all negotiations with De Laurentiis to lower his price fail... which is unlikely, as we'll try to press his price to 15-25M range. Either way we will still get him, unless we could find better (and cheaper) alternative like maybe suddenly Ganso are available for 25M... In any case, we should relax. Fans are to enjoy the summer... Board are to think and to be busy. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - reza - 07-03-2011 What is this debt we are talking about? Either Berlu wants this team to win or he doesn't, please stop thinking there is an in between, may be financial fair play will change things but that's a big if in my opinion. We don't need to be like Chelsea or Real and reason is simple because they spend more on 'likes' than plans (Abramovich wanted Sheva for example. We have done that too sometimes, Berlu wanted Rivaldo for example) But make no mistake about it we have to spend to win, the only argument is which of average 20, 30 or 40mil per summer enough. That depends on rivals, our own squads, general state of football, etc. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ZvonimirBoban - 07-03-2011 what debt, reza? no one's talking about debt... well, at least not me. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - reza - 07-03-2011 The discussion over spending in general. In this environment you have to spend to win. Look at this way, the clubs that are known to be a success AND have decent youth to first team promotion are actually most in debt (Barca and ManUtd to some extent) so even a good youth program and winning does not shield you from cash problems RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Arildonardo - 07-03-2011 Watching Brazil - Venezuela from Copa America. Thiago Silva, Robinho and Pato plays. A very disappointing performance by Brazil so far (0-0 after 57 minutes). Pato hit the bar in the first half. Ganso also plays. It's easy to see that Ganso is lacking match practice, he must do a lot better to convince any of our scouts. If they're there... |
