Serie A was strong last season... Serie A had more quality and competiton last season compared to previous years...inter and Roma fought for the scudetto the year before... Napoli, Milan and inter for scudetto. We also saw the best Udinese of last years, with star players and solid game... Hernanes's Lazio, Pastore's Palermo, Krasic's Juventus, Roma is always Roma, Fiorentina, Genoa, Caglari's attractive game and attacking game...

La Liga is just Barcelona and Real. They lack competition. Just look at the gap between Real and Barcelona with 3rd team.

Galliani was always like this, we didnt make 30-40 m euros signings even when we had money, when we had best team on the paper... Barcelona's difference from us, is their MGT and vision, never-ending ambitious...

They have best team on paper, they have great young players, but still they are strengting their squad with 2 top players, Sanchez and Fabregas.

Honestly, i see our chances for winning CL is pretty low... ibra always failed at high tempo of CL, Robinho is great misser in high tempo and under pressure.Pato couldnt step up, cuz i know that he will injure himself more than 1-2 times next season and he will be out for weeks. Whenever he find his forms, he will be out with an injury again. same scenario until now... just look at his seasons... (this is why i wanted a match winner instead Ganso) Our midfield is pretty old. We dont know if they maintain second half perfonmances...its a big question mark. We need agressive, solid, pacey, 2 way midfielders, who can pressure and can keep the ball under their feet... We lack many elements to be succesful in CL...

i hear you guys, and Jaycrisp, i know it is annoying hearing all the "negative" statements all the time.....but we i'm just saying that that was the same way last year and we ended up getting all those very good deals probably partially because of this strategy.....so with 2 months of transfer market ahead, we can concentrate a bit less on the talking and see what will actually happen...

Ibra was a good deal last season and it was a steal. Robinho on the otherhand is more like a fair deal, afterall Milan got him for 18mil not 8mil.
I actually stop reading what Galli and company had to say since a long time ago. I am just glad that Milan is actually being link with great players instead of their own players exiting Milan.

(07-01-2011, 05:42 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: HOnestly, I thought the first half of the season was better. Yes, Milan won the league, but just look at the results in March, and you would not be optimistic. On top of that, Serie A was such a weaken league last year.
Having said all that, I am not stating Milan is crap and is not a great side, but comparing Milan to the likes of Barcelona, Real or even ManU is unrealistic.
Milan will most likely win the League again due to Ibra and company but to not get embarrass in CL is another story. What I fear most is not losing in CL but rather getting humilated by the likes of Barcelona or Real. As much as i have faith in Max and MIlan, those two teams are just machines and quite frankly Milan is really a level below those teams.

In the first half of the season, our most positive run of results was from october (or late september) to December. During this time we were recording mostly one goal victories and it wasn't until late November for a run of 2 or 3 games where Pirlo played at LM with Boateng used in AM did we actually play an extremely positive brand of football dominating opponents.

I agree that there were times in the second half of the season where we were poor, but often these were during periods where we were decimated by injuries. When we started recovering some key players, like Boateng, we not only regained our consistency, but also dominated opponents much better during matches.

About Serie A being weak, I really don't buy this argument whatsoever. The other top leagues have 1-2 good teams, but then lack any quality. Spain has Barca and Real, and then the rest are a joke. The Premiership is seriously lacking too. Man U aren't that good this season, yet dominated the Premiership and mainly won due to the inconsistency of teams like Chelsea (who had some terrible times this season) and Arsenal. In Italy, teams aren't great right now, but there are plenty of very good sides like Milan, Inter, Napoli, Udinese and others like Palermo (who underperformed), Genoa (as per Palermo) and Lazio.

Milan is currently a level below Real, Barca and others, but lets be honest, we were embarassed by Real once last season during our weakest period of the year. We lost badly, but we're a different team now that's much stronger than what faced Real last year. We're not on that same level yet, but with some important signings, mostly in midfield, I certainly see us reaching that level.

Personally, I'll reserve my judgement until the end of August. We were concerned about our summer last year too, but at the end of it all, Galliani showed why he and Berlusconi have brought Milan to the top.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ACM1899 - 07-01-2011

Give me a final 4 in the CL this year and another scudetto I'll be fine.

We should do better this year in the CL but still I dont think we will be as strong or deep as a RM or Barca. But hey CL does involve some luck too, so nothing is certain.

Us wining the scudetto is important to me because I reallly want the double star before inter.

Worse case scenerio if we don't sign any other players I think we still have a team at the moment to get to final 8 of CL but still should be lifting the 19th scudetto.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - will4li - 07-02-2011

Guys, don't be pessimistic! we have 50 million budget, remember?!cassano for montolivo,co-ownnership deal for kucka and 40million for Mr.X. It will be a good market.if Mr X is a speedy one like bale or pastore,it's a great market, speedy front will maximally cover our midfield weakness.I think we are on par with real and ManUtd with a market like this.

In the near past I was praising them here, but after thinking about the names they bought, the amount of terrible transfers mistakes they did here is astonishing.

The amount of money they spent here(with so so players) makes me think theres something filthy about those transfers...

I hear ya Brasileiro , I was only 3/4 serious.
There has been a few dud's alright.I suppose for every Hulk and Falcao there is 6 bad signings.
Yep, just turn this 6 into a 10. Lol
