RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - slifersd - 10-27-2014 All those guys would be terrific to have on our team, but we all know they are not coming. When we think players, we need to think cheaper, older, with bigger name value in 2007 and most preferably free. That is really the only way for us to sign players nowadays, since we are so cash poor. Speaking of cash poor, I always laugh a little when I hear Galliani talk about how we are in poor financial condition. Does he realize that this team is actually paying for two CEOs? CEOs are not cheap, and no company i know has plans to pay for two of them long term. And yet, somehow, a team that is desperate for any kind of money has no problem paying for two of them for the foreseeable future. Interesting decisions indeed. RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - WCmilan - 10-27-2014 Schone,Suso, that Argentinian guy Vangioni or w.e, I expect a mercato like that this January, nothing less, hoping for something more. I'd be content for the time being because I have faith that we can make CL this season, and two- all three of those players I just mentioned will just add decent quality and depth to the side. HOWEVer, if we do make CL, and we don't make at least one big investment over the summer... I'm not so sure I'll follow next season much. I'm willing to suffer one more season, not that third place is really suffering but another trophy less season, or I should say another season out of contention for any trophies, certainly is suffering for a club like Milan. On a side note, I'd like for us to win Coppa Italia, we never put the effort in but a trophy is a trophy, it's better than nothing, and then don't we get to play for the suppercoppa italiana or w.e afterwards? That's two cups, which again is much better than none. Anyone see the recent link on Milannews? Our 'dream' is to sign one of Isco or Illaramendi on loan from Madrid with option to buy, hopefully convincing them to stay because they'll get a starting spot. Lol, Illaramendi sure if we have 15+mln euros, and I don't even think he's anything special anymore. And Isco? He's already a star at Madrid + worth at least 30mln euros. I like to believe deals like Khedira are possible, signed for free but with high wages, maybe we pull some strings get rid of Mexes and we can manage.. But players like Isco are certainly far out of our reach. http://m.milannews.it/calciomercato-milan/milan-a-gennaio-si-sogna-il-prestito-di-un-centrocampista-galacticos-158706 My question for you all now, what would you think of something like this?.. There's so many ways we could free up cash to have a more competitive team, for example this is the first thing I'd do in January: 1)Sell NDJ to ManU for 15mln euros. 2)Get rid of Mexes, even for free IDC, free up 4mln euros of wages = about 7-8mln euros between him and NDJ 3)Get Khedira on a free, give him his 5-6mln euros of wages, he replaces NDJ. 4)We still have 2-3mln euros of wages+15mln euros to spend on another midfielder. We improve on ndj with khedira and we get a free midfielder practically. I'm not saying this will happen, but this is the type of transfer business Roma(selling Benatia+Marquinhos etc.) and I suppose juve etc. have been conducting and it has worked very well for them. We have the money, income etc. to compete, even surpass any team in Seria A but we need to be smarter. This is where I think back to when I used to defend Galliani, but when I really take a good look at the shape of things, he really messed up over the last few years and even if he's partially made up for it he's still got a lot of work to do. RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - reza - 10-27-2014 Mexes' contract, like Bonera and Essien, expires next summer. We should forget them tbh. Next year the wage bill will fall again because of them. IMO our worry should be how they are replaced, if at all, because their wage/contract has little left. RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - Jay Crisp - 10-27-2014 Illara is young Spanish cost Ream near €40m he isnt an option even they sell at half the price. With Khedira looking pretty set for Arsenal or Chelsea ,Real will need Illara as their squad isnt big. Isco is just not happening.I see a winter mercato of at best Taarabt or Suso with no investment beyond €2m/€3m.3rd is an option but I dont think its likely TBH we still ship lots of goals which is a problem. If we did finish 3rd we'd get the "we're competitive" "if one player leaves ONE MIGHT arrive" crap. One thing im certain of it that there will be no major investment , no big signing.Just the same path that we've on the last 3 + years. RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 10-27-2014 Milan are looking to get Chinese investment, while Barbara is also looking at Fly Emirates: http://www.milannews.it/primo-piano/tuttosport-alla-scoperta-di-richard-lee-luomo-che-aiutera-il-milan-ad-esportare-il-proprio-brand-in-cina-lady-b-in-pressing-su-emirates-158727 RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - Jay Crisp - 10-27-2014 (10-27-2014, 10:56 AM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: Milan are looking to get Chinese investment, while Barbara is also looking at Fly Emirates: Any chance anything materialises this time, or will it be the usual months of talking without doing anything then signing a minor deal that isnt a crumb on our financial table...oh but all the players get free TAMAGOTCHI's. Theres always so much fanfare and B.S surrounding Milan , I'll believe it when I see it.Then if Milan do big investment the €€€€ could vanish. I'm soooo doubtful of anything happening when it comes to Meelan...#UltimatePessimist RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 10-27-2014 Something's going on, seeing as the picture is of Richard Lee (the potential investor) sat between Silvio and Barbara during yesterday's match. RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - xudong - 10-27-2014 I really don't understand why we should replace de Jong seeing what a pivotal player he is for this side. Even if he does renew at the end of season, we should not sell him in January. There is no point of selling just for cash (what are we going to do with cash? we are most likely going to waste it anyway). On the other hand, I full-heartedly agree on the release of Mexes and other deadwood, and loaning of youngsters. Something is going and tbh its Barbara looking for new sponsors to increase revenue. They arent looking to sell any of the club , or expecting oodles of cash injection. It will be some new sponsors but nothing notable enough to see the club make some decent signings RE: Winter mercato January 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 10-27-2014 I don't know if it is sponsors. I heard it's to sell a minority share, with the money possibly financing the stadium project. I don't think this is about improving transfer mercato money tbh. |
