^^ Recall that 6 points is only two games AND we've already played some of the toughest teams that we'll face for the first half of the season. Inter are in more trouble because they dropped points versus easier teams than we did. It is important not to fall behind early but you must also take into account the schedule that we had at the beginning of the year. Things should get easier from here on out. I'm at least hoping so.

Cassano, Bonera, Seedorf for Torres + 20 millions

Then buy hamsik for 20 million plus flamini. Flamini will not start, we have tons of defensive midfielders, and his wages are too high. Hamsik would gladly take 4 or 5 million.

---------Ibra--------robinho/torres/pato-----
---------------hamsik/el shaaraway------------
--------Nocerino---------------boateng-------
--------------------van Bommel---------------

* train nocerino to play cdm
* consider de Rossi
* we would be getting rid of a lot of wages and barely spending. Improving so much with more energy in midfield. This must be done!

Subs: robinho, pato, el shaaraway, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Aquilani, montolivo (if we switch him for urby)

What does everyone think?
40 million for a new team

I think 40 mln per year is the best our management can do on the market these days, any transfer hope we can come up with better not exceed that limit.

Great if your suggestion become true.but 3 things we should work out;

1, media said chelsea want pato in this deal,we said robinho is as far as we can go.
2,napoli has ambition for scudetto, they rejected us this summer.but if hamsik's contract ends next summer,it's a different story.WinkSagrin
3,we better prepare replacement for gatusso, ambro and MVB now, they are damn old. de rossi is the icon of rome,I like spur's sandro for MVB.

Lastly, the current Milan is a few WC players short for really be consider the elite in the world. As I said earlier, even with Messi, they probably wont dominate matches like Barca or Real.

Seems our argument evolved into a new topic now, fun!

Here is what I say,as long as we can beat barca,we can beat anybody.but to win a tournament we aslo need some luck.even barca can not say they will surely win CL,but they definitely can beat anybody.

Real is a team designed to beat barca, they can pretty much beat anybody now.what our transfer policy is and better be to duplicte their rebuild concept, but only in a poorman's manner due to our financial status.

Creativity is important but not the priority thing we should pursue now, quality of counter-attack is! napoli beat us by their counter efficiency not creativity, juventus beat us by their hunger, energy and assertive execution not creativity.we don't need to dominate,we just got to play to our strength and win.nobody can win barca with fashion,it's got to be a survival experience anyway.

Counter attack are for small clubs not a club like Milan.

Real does not play counter attack, rather they press and press and press, on top of that they play with a mobile midfield. All great teams now and in the past got mobile midfield and midfield with movement, something that none of the current Milan mids can provide. Also, playing counter attack might beat Barca, actually as of today only Inter got the better of Barca in knockout play with Counter attack style. But playing counter attack won't get you pass teams like Bayern, City, Utd or even Chelsea since they all pretty much got mobile midfielders.
You stated Napoli beat Milan with their counter efficiency, lets see who were their midfielders, Hamsik, Inler, Maggio and Gargano. And the mids for Milan were MVB, Aqua, Slowdorf and Nocerino. You honestly think that if Torres and Gotze or Pastore or even Messi being the front two for Milan, Milan would have won that game? Heck, even if you switch Hamsik and Aqua, I am sure the results will probably still be a W for Napoli. Simply b/c the mid of Milan will get out run.
Over the past 15 winners of CL winners, the weakest midfield were probably Porto, Deco, Manchie, and Costinha, yet, they still can outrun the current Milan midfield.

I think 40 million a season is a bit of a stretch for Milan to spend in on mercato. Its good or cheap deals out of contract players and hoping 2 or 3 of our youth products progress to the starting lineup.
That would seem to be the hopefull plan , and that is my problem hopefull waiting for great deals like Ibra Binho but they don't happen every year or even every 5.There really needs to be a plan for money to spend be it 10 mil or 20 mil , a clear vision and plan not Mr X B.S.
Aquilani was our main target so why didnt we act in June when Viola and Juve were attempting to strike a deal.We waited until the end to get the cheapest deal this is a bad plan , its like wishing and hoping .Money talks Bullsh1t walks.

The mid clearly needs addressing I mean it's so average it's untrue .I know players like Hamsik Ganso Pastore Sneijder won't be coming to Milan anytime soon , But if it's deals the want then the likes of Banega Toulalan Gago Pjanic went for free or very reasonable and we still waited to get Aquilani WHO DOESN'T EVEN PLAY.

And Gabriel while I don't say or think Milan is a small club it isn't up there with Madrid Barca Chelsea Munich not even close.Maybe we should re evaluate how we play against these sides nopt park the bus , but adapt to teams who are clearly superior to us.

RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Gabriel426 - 10-04-2011

Jay, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with playing counter attack against teams like Barca or Real in order to get the W. But if your whole mid is full of players on the level of Aqua, Nocerino, Constant, MVB...all good solid players but none are creative and mostly defensive mids, you really can't expect to win anything by playing counter attack all the time against every teams. The gap between MIlan and the teams you mentioned are big but if Milan continue to get players like Aqua, Nocerino, and renew the old guards plus signing bargains like Monty, and others, the gap will just be getting bigger and bigger.
On top of that, playing counter attack will only work if Nesta and Silva are both playing. Nesta to me is not getting any younger and to hope he can play at the level like Cap did heading towards 40 is pure fantasy. Mexes never convince me as a CB, while Yepes can get the job done but he is already 34 or 35.

It's no shame to play counter attacks in CL,2007's milan played every game counter attack at knockout stage.plus we have ibra,we don't play every game counter attack.

We are gonna have a mobile midfield soon.monty, constant and boateng all mobile, nocerino is a mobile too compared to gatusso, nobody can out run such a midfield.

Napoli game can not be a measureing stick match for our quality,we are a veteran team suffering injury crisis and stretchs of extra work load.let's judge after the second round between this 2 teams.and I honestly think if we are playing 1 game a week and torres and pastore being our front 2,we will beat this napoli neat and clean.

RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Jay Crisp - 10-04-2011

We are a Veteran team , but when I see V.Bommel and Seedorf starting and our much talked about MR X getting no game time then why commit to buy and pay a salary.Keep Merkel keep Strasser we need them now.
And I know ppl will say no1 could see such an injury crisis but how we get it every year , just this year its earlier than usual.
