RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - LebRN - 06-25-2011 (06-25-2011, 08:42 PM)mrki Wrote: Didac Vila is still our player, he'll play in Espanol to gain playing time. i know Vila is still ours, i was just being sarcastic.... regarding Poli, i did not read any reports about Galliani having an agreement with Cagliari about it, but given our transfer trend these last couple of mercatos, i was hoping for something like that for Poli and it seems it is quite possible....hope so
RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - will4li - 06-26-2011 Great to have a 50 million budget for summer market.we can do some patchwork on DM department and save bucks for Mr.X. A co-ownership deal for poli is great.20 million for de rossi or essien is too much,I think cassno for montolivo is better,we can keep our italy identity without spending much by doing this.reports said we offered 10 million for kucka.I rate him high,he has good strength and a power shot, skill level is also good, very rare for a guy with physics like gatusso.maybe we can reach another co-owner deal whith genoa.with these 3,we can complete our DM rejuvenation in a very economical manner. Then,we will have about 40 million for MrX. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Hitman - 06-26-2011 (06-25-2011, 08:42 PM)mrki Wrote: Shaarawy, Poli and a player I count on - Fossatti. I expect them to be new Milan's Azzurri in few years. Everyone talks about Fossati cause we spent 5m on him when he was 16, however the real star of our Primavera who was always the most consistent was Calvano, keep an eye for him this summer I think he is a better player, and is definitely a stronger character.RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 06-26-2011 I understand that Milan is an Italian team and all, but I really think this Italian identity thing is over-rated. Afterall, if Italian players have the talent level of Brazilian or Spainish, I understand but the current Italian players just ain't that good. Those who are good either play in positions where Milan does not need or they are already playing for Milan, Abate, Abbiatti and Cassano. I can't wait till he comes back to us! Seriously, we haven't had such decent crosses from the left hand side since forever now! The crosses he put in remind me of the ones that Cafu and Stam used to put up for Sheva back in the day! As for the Italian identity debate, Milan always go for the best players, but we tend to make our own legends. We had Baresi, Maldini, Tassotti, Costacurta, Albertini, and a host of players that we developed ourselves. Abate is next in line (I'm still surprised he hasn't been called up yet) and we have youth that can be developed. El Sharaawy could potentially be good enough for the NT later, but whats important is that we don't just buy them, we develop them. Just think, had Pirlo and Gattuso not been developing their trade with us, do you think they would have stood a chance being picked for the 06 WC? I don't mind us not having the best Italian players on the team right now, so long as we are continually able to develop our own Italian stars. Its all about cycles, and right now Italian players just aren't being developed properly. My hope is that Milan are the ones to change things. We can be the Barca and Madrid of Spain, the mecca for developing the future golden generation of Italian football. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 06-26-2011 That was a beautiful cross.. I'm excited to see what becomes of Didac.. We're investing a lot of time and money into youth lately, this is great. I expect them to be new Milan's Azzurri in few years. As far as I know we about him along with other two young players, not as youg as Fossati but already over 20 years old (21-23 I think) and we bought Fossati when he was almost 18 years old (not 16 years old). But I agree many talk about Fossati due to his reported transfer fee (along with two players). He does however talent but he could be not used wisely by Stroppa. When I first watched him he played as creative midfielder in the 3-midfielder position of 4-3-3 formation and later he played as second striker or one of two players behind target man in formation 4-3-2-1. His best position I think is the first mentioned one, in the 3-midfield. Calvano is indeed talented youngster too but they have different characteristic. Calvano is a player who can attack and defend well but lack of creativity while Fossati rely on his creativity. Both can play in the 3-midfielder position in our team IMO and were already called up by Allegri in the mid season last year and yes, only Calvano managed to sit on the bench in 1-2 Serie A games even though he didn't get any minutes. About stronger character I still can't rate it since character can't be judged so quickly but I agree that Calvano is stronger regarding of the physical appearance. He is the only player from Primavera who looks like a real footballer (from his physique). Fortunately both will be brought to the summer preparation according the Galliani's words so we can see how they play in senior team, something they haven't done (they did it only in training and I only watched once when Fossati played in front of two CBs aka Bommel's/Pirlo's position and Calvano as right-center midfielder). Along with Valoti and Desiglio hopefully some of them could be included to the first team for our campaign next season. We have been focusing on and investing much money in our youth from since around 2008-2009. We tried to grab (Italian) talented players (we brought some players last year or two years ago like Calvano, Hottor, Baretta, etc) and I just read that we are building affiliation with football schools not only in Italy but also around the world. Here is an article telling something about our focusing on youth development lately: http://www.footballitaliano.co.uk/p6_66_6239_milan-focussing-on-youth-for-the-future.html (link credit to other Milan fans forum). RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gio-mania - 06-26-2011 This has nothing to do with the mercato but Didac's "supercross" was only as good as it was only because the Swiss defense was so poorly positioned. But nonetheless, he has showed some class and I hope we keep him, at least after the loan to Espanyol (which seems pretty certain?). RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - LebRN - 06-26-2011 Although Didac looked like a decent player, that cross aide, he was far from eye-catching in a team with so much talent.... I had never seen Spain U21 play before but players like Thiago, Mata (many of us have seen both play before with their teams) and Javi Martinez (DM) and Montoya (RB) were really impressive...sometimes you would forget you were watching U21's playing. Spain certainly looks like they will be a force for the coming years as well. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Pato Milan - 06-26-2011 Funny thing is Thiago was born in Italy and his father was a Brazilian football player.Well he is only playing in youth team so he could still change... |
