You are right, and apparently Mourinho didn't want to let him go, especially not going to a direct competitor like Arsenal.

But Cech himself really wanted to leave, and Abramovich promised that Cech could pick any team he wanted, as a token of appreciation. Mourinho couldn't do anything about it.

Don't really care so much about Cech going to Arsenal. It's a good signing for Arsenal, while Chelsea should be fine with it, as they've got Courtois who's currently better anyway.

I don't want to derail the discussion to go into this, but this is a massive problem on the Internet. The problem is most of the authorities are ill equipped to deal with this stuff or they don't give it the attention it needs, simply because they don't see it as a "real world" problem.

This particular situation against Cech is probably just a handful of kids or immature idiots not understanding the severity of the actions and the perceived threat (not to say it should be treated lightly).

However, there are some really serious things that effectively ruin people's lives on the net. Things like online bullying, swatting or revenge porn to name a few, have all become serious problems and at times literally ruin people's lives. I recently heard about a story of revenge porn, which resulted in a woman trying to commit suicide.

Another story I read last year was of a man and later his wife who were harassed online and threatening messages sent. It grew into parcels being delivered to their house with death threats. Turned out, it was the son of a couple of local friends who just wanted to play a prank. Thing is in this scenario, the police said there wasn't much they could do and the only reason it was solved was a friend who worked in IT traced the IP of the messages.

I write this both to make my point about the authorities, but also as a warning that we have to be careful with our use of the Internet, as it's probably the greatest resource we have available today, but also can be hugely damaging if not used responsibly.

I don't get why City are prepared to pay that amount for him. I know they have stupid amounts of money, but it's beyond farcical that Sterling is worth even half that.

It's crazy to think a team would spend that amount on Muller. We talk about 30m for Romagnoli as absurd and it is, but this is the problem this market, a lot of teams are causing inflation and driving up the cost.
