RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Beppe - 07-11-2024 I agree, they are building and expanding the team from the bottom, very good for the long term. And I can fully understand why we have pulled out of the zirkzee transfer. I was a big fan of his signing as I truly believe he has great potential. 15m in in commissions is ridiculous. And probably only the beginning, what if we would ever have to renew his contract. His agent gonna ask for 20m to renew? And what do other agents do if they hear we pay such commissions!? Ask for the same? Morata for 13m is a no brainer IMO, he can be our new younger Giroud. I still hope we sign a young mobile striker with him, J.David maybe!? RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Beppe - 07-11-2024 Anyone knows that Pavlocic guy from salzburg? We’ve been strongly linked to him the days. He looks like an aggressive powerfull but kinda dumb defender. Not my favorite type, I prefer the smart type of defenders, like Maldini/Nesta type of players. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - winstonwolfe - 07-11-2024 Pavlović is more like Giorgio Chiellini, left footed, very strong, slow but he makes up for everything with great combativeness, great character in any way. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Leoni9900 - 07-11-2024 Zirkzee to Man United a done deal. I understand not giving in to the crazy commission demands by the agents, but we are fighting a losing battle. Until FIFA steps in to create a commission cap, Milan will never be able to sign/re-sign top player. Agents won’t waste their time meeting with Milan knowing they won’t pay the commission RE: Summer mercato 2024 - slifersd1 - 07-11-2024 The issue with the Zirkzee deal is that he was only available for that price because of his release clause, and you can't find someone like that anywhere else. It is truly an unique opportunity that we had to take advantage. Instead, we wanted to pick a fight with agent commissions and now have to spend much more if we want someone like him. It is a dumb economic decision RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Inas - 07-11-2024 (07-11-2024, 04:51 PM)slifersd1 Wrote: The issue with the Zirkzee deal is that he was only available for that price because of his release clause, and you can't find someone like that anywhere else. It is a dumb economic decision There's nothing dumb about that decision. Spending 55million on Zirkzee might even be the dumb thing. That's a heck lot of money, and are we sure Zirkzee is the solution to our problem? I personally would prefer a striker more traditional, out-and-out, pure "no. 9" in the mold of Sesko, Gyokeres or Gimenez. We can't afford those, so I'm not disappointed if we don't spend 55m on player who can't guarantee you 10 goals in a season. He's a talent, no doubt, but I believe with that money you can get such. For instance Olmo has a 60m buy-out clause. Btw, ManU is paying 57.5m for Zirkzee in total. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Leoni9900 - 07-11-2024 Youth and potential is expensive. Look at Yamal for example. He’s already playing at a high level at 17. Barcelona doesn’t have to look for a RW for like 20 years if they don’t sell him to PSG. I’d rather find and pay 60 million for a striker who could be here for 20 years and consistently score 15+ goals a season than 15 for an older player who may only be here for 3-4 years. If you’re spending that 15 million every 4 years, after 20 years you’re at over 60 million anyways RE: Summer mercato 2024 - slifersd1 - 07-11-2024 (07-11-2024, 06:20 PM)Inas Wrote: There's nothing dumb about that decision. Check out how much Real was willing to pay for Mbappe when he only had one year left on his deal last summer. Even guys like Sesko would cost quite a bit more than 45M, and he is largely unproven at the top level too. If you are content with settling for another CF who has limitations and can't elevate our attack like we have had the last few years, then more power to ya. But I thought addressing the CF position was this summer's top priority, so I am not sure why money is all of a sudden an issue again. I, for one, am tired of trying to patch up an attack without addressing our CF issue directly. Yes, Dani Olmo is nice, but does he bring much more to the table or solve our issues in attack? Not really, not to mention he is also injury prone. If we think CF is the clear area of need, then do what we need to do to address it. Settling for Plan Z is what got us into this situation to begin with RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Inas - 07-11-2024 (07-11-2024, 07:11 PM)slifersd1 Wrote: Do you know how much a CF who is 23 and would guarantee you 20 plus goals would cost? Again you talking like Zirkzee will solve our attacking issues singlehandedly. I doubt that. I would very much love if we could get the likes of Zirkzee. Thing is our financial situation won't allow us these luxuries. And btw, I'm not a fan of Morata. Again, I'd be ecstatic if we can afford Zirkzee plus others. But I'm realistic enough to know this is not a club that can afford a 55million player and still have money for 2 or 3 more players that we desperately need. So I'm quite okay with sacrificing Zirkzee on those terms. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Arildonardo - 07-12-2024 (07-11-2024, 01:20 PM)Beppe Wrote: Anyone knows that Pavlocic guy from salzburg? We have to settle for something else. Don't know Strahinja Pavlovic. But he seems quite strong and already has 38 matches for Serbian national team at 23 years old. Regarding what type of defender he is, I found this. Strengths: - Aerial Duels (Strong) - Tackling (Strong) Weaknesses: - Concentration (Very Weak) - Discipline (Weak) Style of Play: - Likes to dribble - Plays the ball off the ground often - Indirect set-piece threat - Likes to tackle - Clears the ball out of defence often - Commits fouls often Edit: I see that also Newcastle are interested, so if we want really him we can't sit and wait too long I guess. |
