Too risky of a signing, Russian league quality has dropped off since sanctions imo Soucek should be targeted, a great box to box midfielder that we seriously lacked from RLC.

No, not really. There was one "exodus wave", when UEFA said they might terminate contracts for all foreign players, so clubs rushed to sell and earn what they can, but after that didn't happened situation "stabilized". They are again buying players from all over the world. It's way more quality than Belgium or some other leagues we rummaged to find "gems".

Doesn't even score much in Russian league. Went on loan to Swiss Super League with Basel in 2021/22 season, failed and went straight back to Russia. No thanks, I don't think a signing like this would take us anywhere.

With Tomori, Thiaw and Kalulu out until the beginning of march, maybe even a little longer, you are left with and old, slow and injury lover Kjaer. Also on DM we are in deep shit. Bennacer will be out in january, maybe again a longer run from Algeria? And that if he dont pick another injury. So for me is CB, DM and a good striker in the summer. Because for now even Haaland will not start in front of Giroud.

This season he scores a little less because he's not playing as striker but as AMC (still have 10+ goals). In "striker season" 20-25.
Basel, he was more victim of mumbo jumbo hysterical nonsense than actual fail.
