RE: Summer mercato 2012 - WCmilan - 06-30-2012

Yes Gabriel, good prediction. Myself as well, a few days ago when I read the first few links with him possibly signing for us right when i saw he is co owned by genoa I'm like okay this is going to happen.

Destro will not be playing as anchor because he is a STRIKER lol, or CF, but anyways very talented player underrated imo as he is not really hyped outside italy but he reminds me of a di natale type player. we can really mould this guy into something special over a few years and also rely on him for most seria a games (although i doubt hell get a big amount of playing time). He will not replace robinho, robinho will only be replaced by tevez or someone in his caliber. Destro imho will be a replacement for maxi lopez/pippo although with more potential and probably already better then lopez, he won't be our next pippo but he could be a really good player.

If we sell binho i expect a big name, tevez/rvp/torres someone like that TBH as talented as destro is i'd be quite disappointed if he was to replace robinho

Since Destro and Diarra seem almost done deals (lets not jinx) if we complete both those signings in addition to the ones we've already made, this might be one of our most solid mercatos with barely spending any money seriously, we'll have a sick sick sick team with those guys.
Diarra is a rock at anchor, he's near impossible to get by and when he played vs barca i think it was this season or last all I remember his him staying on messi and giving him a hard time the whole game, he also makes powerful runs forward and his passing is similar to mvbs, hard and low most often and he has a lot of pace and a good shot as well perfect addition. Destro, a very talented YOUNG player

subs:flamini,muntari,montolivo,destro,robinho,els,emmanuelson,muntari,ambro,traore,mesbah,antonini,de sciglio,amelia,gabriel,bonera

Thats a very solid team, total 27 players although could be 26 like galli wanted if we get rid two of mesbah/taiwo/didac for balzarettiBig Grin

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Gio-mania - 06-30-2012

Yes Destro is a future investment, but he isn't the top player we need right now. We have Ibra, Cassano, Robinho, Pato and SES. Very unlikely he would find much playing time and I don't think he would be a worthy replacement if we sold Robinho. Nonetheless, as long as he doesn't preclude the arrival of our much needed midfielder(s), I can't complain about us getting a future prospective (12 goals in 30 apps this season).
Looks like Lucio is going to Juve. Wow.

Good post, I agree very much with you.

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - GeoTav - 06-30-2012

Well, I'd say the contrary about Destro and Robinho for example ...

Robinho is a similar player to Cassano : both aren't real strikers, they like to play around the area, move a lot to create spaces for the others, dribbling, and make the last pass instead of scoring ...

El Sharaawy is labelled as a second striker too, but he isn"t totally developped yet as a player, so it could change.

That means right now, we have 3 players in the same register. Pato is the only real striker we have, and actually, I'd say he is more like Ibrahimovic (I mean not a Inzaghi-like player waiting to score, he needs to touch the ball and play with the team).

So if Robinho had to leave, having Destro would be a very good idea (another kind of striker, a new solution for Allegri), and I'm quite sure he would improve very quickly with Ibra or Cassano supporting him ...

Just think about that :
- Boateng behind Ibra and Destro
- Boateng behind Cassano and Destro
- Boateng behind Cassano and Ibra (not the best solution IMO)
- a creative AM (so someone new) behind Pato and Destro
- a creative AM behind Pato and El Shaarawy
- a creative AM behind Destro and El Shaarawy (right now, the worst solution)

That's 6 good solutions, and then, you can also combine them (El Sharaawy can play with whoever, Pato can play with Cassano, not Ibra so far), etc ...
New rumour : Veloso in Milan ... on loan or co-ownership.

We're doing our mercato in Genoa actually !!

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - reza - 06-30-2012

AC Genoa or Milan CFC, take your pick

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Gio-mania - 06-30-2012

Veloso would be a very interesting addition. He is 26 and probably still improve a bit in our system. We have good relations with Genoa, too. Any ideas what his price tag would be? Transfermarkt.de puts him at € 10 mln. I have no clue how reliable it is.

Regarding Jovetic, keep in mind his release clause is € 30 mln and I think there are some offers around 20-25 mln in place from some big teams.

Did veloso make portugal NT this euro cup? I like kucka more,it seems that inter has already given up on him.

Yes, he did. He played as well, but, as far as I am concerned, not that well. He looked a bit overweight to me, also a bit slow.

As for Azzurri, I know this will come maybe as a surprise to some of you, but my love for Gli Azzurri slightly surpasses my love for Milan. I don't know what it is--I'm not even Italian. Italia'90 made me fall in love with Gli Azzurri, and it has simply grown over time.

Forza Azzurri! Avanti! Avanti!

RE: Summer mercato 2012 - Ryo - 06-30-2012

I thought Uncle Fester said Destro MIGHT come, as opposed to IS COMING.....?

Sounds like a load of bs whereby he gets into a bidding war with one of the other clubs and ends up saying we cannot afford his transfer fees, etc.

Happens all the time for us, so unless we get an actual confirmation from official sources, I'm not celebrating just yet

Yeah it was a "maybe". And now apparently there are other clubs bidding for him all of the sudden. Galliani has something up his sleeve. Not necessarily something good, though.
