Aldo Dolcetti is the favourite to replace Stroppa as coach of the primavera. Stroppa's sacking was a big surprise as he did some good things over the past couple of years. That said there's something interesting about Dolcetti. He's an ex-midfielder and played with Allegri in the mid-90s at Pisa. It's a known fact we're trying to push for Primavera players into the first team squad, and it seems to me that Allegri's probably had some say about the coach of the primavera.

Well, to be honest, I think the youth department is getting better and better.
Abate, Borreillo and Antonini are the first to crack the 1st team squad.
Merkel and Astori will be there next season.
Verdi, Berretta, Polashi and Alberterzzi should follow in a year or two.

I think the key is not producing a Messi, or Iniesta or Cesc or Giggs...but rather at least the youth team can produce regular squad players or starting players for the first team. That will help Milan to concentrate their money only on huge purchases like Messi or Ronaldo.

Think about it this way, any teams would probably need to spend 5mil for a depth player like Antonini given his age, free transfer aside. That's a 5 mil saving on Milan part by developing Antonini into the first team squad. Thats also why I don't get the signing of Wistchel, as he is not much of an upgrade to Merkel, and for 15 mil, Milan should have throw in another 5m to get Hernanes or someone at that level.

footgoal.net a Belgian sports website claims we have signed Witsel on a 4 year deal.

THis only proves that our first and most important target will be the Trquartista. I have not seen a single minute of the guy, so I will not comment on him. But the fact that we have close relationship with Standard and nobody else was after him makes me wonder. [/align]

Been away and didn't read this forum for a week (my personal record Big Grin), but judging from the last page it looks like I didn't miss anything. It's gonna be a looong boring summer. God I can't wait for the Copa America to start

not true Kastriot, Man United were after him as well but we pipped them to the post, a Belgian friend of mine described him as "A very talented footballer. All action midfielder who can tackle, shoot, pass and has great energy levels all these attributes at a very high standard" but maybe he is biased due to being Belgian Big Grin
