Seedorf definitely needs to first evaluate the squad and see what he thinks they lack, as well as better decipher which players he wants to keep or get rid of. This January is a success if we just get rid of all the deadwood, because if one things for sure, players like them are not wanted by any coach. BUT, Milannews reports that Seedorf personally requested two players : One of them Doria for the defense, but he also wants Adam Maher from PSV. This kid is pretty talented, I'd love for him to come but we'd need to let someone go, frankly Matri is useless so I'm not expected Fio to buy him at the end of his loan unless we sell him for literal peanuts (3-5m), I'd say Robinho would pack his bags to make room for Maher if he weer to arrive. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Arildonardo - 01-15-2014 PSV bought Adam Maher for €6.5 million in July 2013 and he signed a 5 year contract. I guess he won't be cheap. Certainly not free... Anyway, if true it's good to see Seedorf focusing on young talented players with Doria as well. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Jay Crisp - 01-15-2014 Seems Essien now & a push for Vidic in June is more likely with MGT theyd both be free. Doria would cost $14M & Maher €9M according to their value (like it matters ) could be more could be less.Id like latter bit well FREE!!! I don't know enough about Doria to know if it's a good transfer, but I have a lot of good things. About Maher, I was very impressed by him in the CL qualifier vs us back in August. I understand he's not having a particularly good season, but that seems to be the case with PSV in general. Essien's name is back again as a possibility now that Allegri's left. Hopefully Seedorf says no to it. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Stitch - 01-15-2014 (01-15-2014, 10:25 AM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: Hopefully Seedorf says no to it. For the second there I thought : Why the hell would anybody ask Slowdorf about it Gonna need time to get used to him being our coach. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Revolver - 01-15-2014 I seems that Seedorf will go with 4-3-1-2, with Honda as trequartista, Kaka with Balotelli in attack, and Montolivo as regista in front of defense. I hoped that Honda would play a role similar to Seedorf's role in 4-3-1-2, with Kaka as trequartista. I'm sure Seedorf considers this as an option too. It's interesting what will happen with De Jong in this system. Perhaps he could play a similar role as Gattuso played, but still Gattuso started his career on the side, as right-sided midfielder, so I don't know really. It's logical that Seedorf will go with 4-3-1-2, because wherever he played, except his time in Ajax, that was the system, and he played in 4-3-1-2 under two of the best coaches around. Furthermore, our roaster should be changed a lot to accommodate Total Football's 4-3-3 - first Kaka doesn't fit, question is also whether ELS would fit, and the only possible winger is Niang and he's loaned currently. Ahhh Dorf & I think a like..I been saying this for months... We'll see if he actually does it. Give the guy time and let's see what happens with the formation. More importantly, the proper players need to be playing, and playing their positions they play best at. We need to get better at set-pieces, and also attack and defend as a unit better. RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - honsano - 01-15-2014 Essien links continue and I am starting to believe them. Anyone watch him play over the past 2 seasons? Did he get over the injury? I realize he hasn't played that much in that time but he has been on two pretty good teams with pretty good midfields. Understandable that he may not find much playing time with Real or Chelsea but is he done? Understandable that he may not find much playing time with Real or Chelsea but is he done? Whatever his condition... we're with a new coach and some promising youngsters. I don't want a short term solution. Kaka is our leader and I would be unhappy to see money invested in Essien. I'd rather see money like that invested in renewing SES's or Cristante's contract. Or keeping Niang. There's so much more to do with our cash than go for a burnt out yet still good midfielder who has no affiliation with the club. |
