Nice list. I would remove, then C. Ronaldo. What has he won in his Real Madrid years? I would put Shevchenko there too - he is not retired yet. He was big game changer, and still is. I think last season he kicked Manchester City's ass in Europa League. Too bad all our players are either old or sold. We will be linked with some Brazilian players soon enough for them to go there.

CR won the Copa Del Rey, he helped MU a lot in winning CL2008. I dislike his attitude, but he has fearless mentality. His debut with MU and his performance in Euro 2004 at 19 years old also showed that. I hesitated when writed his and Rooney's name. Both are arrogant but they are maturing and become tougher. Sheva left us 5 years ago then came back poorly so I don't want to mention his name (painful). But he surely was one (he is just for Kiev level). I hope Pato can grow into one. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 06-10-2011 Rooney is a good player very good finisher.Thats it , he is not a game changer.I am not saying he is bad but he is not up there with Messi , Iniesta , Kaka , CR7 , 2 world cups 9 games no shots on target. The only thing he has big balls for is cheap hookers. I dont like how the rumours of us signings Witsel or El Sharwaay , are gathering steam. If we got one of those and a Ganso then yeah. But if it's only that kind of player good in a small team and sub-par league with only potential. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Aficio - 06-10-2011 I think it is unfair for Rooney because his national team is England. They have many good players but their tactical view is very inflexible, and he doesn't have attack-minded teammates from MU, so he was not used the best. I think the more ridiculous rumors are, the bigger player(s) we will get at the end

I have only seen youtube clips of El Shaarawy, but he seems to be very good. I wouldn't mind if I get him. He is supposed to be the next "big thing" in Italy. Rooney is top 5 forward in world and better than Zlatan. People just like to ignore it cause he's english and thus 'can't possibly be' Seriously lets run down what he's done: how many players can play false #9 to accommodate Ronaldo (in 07-08) and do it effectively (14 assist a season).. . Then in 08-09 Fergie buys Berbatov and he wants Rooney to play LW to accommodate both Ronaldo and Berb (and TeveZ) and he does so effectively with 17 assists Then Ronaldo leaves, Berbatov hits crisis and what does he do? Uses Rooney as a pure #9 and he responds with 30+ goals in a 4-5-1. A role he never played because he was always a support striker Finally in 10-11, Fergie finds a true #9 poacher, so what does Rooney do? Becomes a PURE #10 in the hole and responds again with many goals and assists. How many players can do all these things effectively? He works 200% for team and can play any role. Technically he will ALWAYS be underrated cause he's english but he's just behind the likes of totti/Zlatan, howeveR I'd rather have him cause he was never lazy and makes constant runs and takes any role. And he's ALWAYS performed in every competition (bar 2010 WC where he nursed injuries). He performs cause he knows how to work. He's not a pre-madonna 'directing' players yelling, asking for them to work for him like Zlatan/Totti (who are both much more talented but don't know how to properly work for their team). He's a true team player. Make no mistake this is why Mourinho has said if he could have any forward he'd pick Rooney. I mean how many people can do all these things at a high level? Messi, C.Ronaldo and Etoo are only ones I can think of. you guys want to know why bartha got better without Zlatan? It's exactly cause of these factors. Every player they got now does simple things and works for team. Zlatan does not. He is more talented than Villa, but he doesn't make the runs Villa does. He doesn't make simple passes way villa/pedro do. He doesn't play 1 touch and without the ball like Barca forwards do. Zlatan's natural talent allowed him to just hammer la liga and lower competition even if he didn't fit their 'style' but he was ultimately the wrench which stopped them v. inter last year because they had 10 players playing 1 way, and 1 player (zlatan) playing his way |
