Milan are struggling to extend Franck Kessie’s contract with a number of top European clubs looking to try their luck.
TMW have given an update on the situation by claiming that – despite the Rossoneri’s efforts and the duration of the negotiations – there is not much optimism filtering regarding a potential meeting point being struck.
Over the past few weeks the Milan management have been making Kessie aware of how important he is within the team from a tactical and a leadership point of view, even offering him a significant pay rise, but the situation has not unblocked.
Milan offered €6.5m net per season including bonuses which is a huge figure compared to his current €2.2m net and compared to the other salaries of key players in the squad (Zlatan Ibrahimovic aside).
Kessie’s response has been clear: he wants €8m net per year or talks cannot accelerate.

Just do montolivo approach on kessie and end that BS contract saga. Next competitive game you'll play in august next year in new club, till than... see you in training... if he miss one ban him with monthly salary for each missed training and goodbye...

Kessiè’s agent has delivered his final request to the Rossoneri and is awaiting an answer. There was a bit of confusion on what the figure might be as Milan were apparently willing to offer double his current €2.2m per season net to €4.4m, then raised it to €5.5m with a progressive increase up to almost €7m during the final year.
If the negotiation hits a dead end then it is because Kessie asked for €8m net per season for five years, which means €80m gross plus agent commission taking it to almost €100m, the same amount Donnarumma refused.

this contract extension saga with kessie and romagnoli has to end and a full stop has to be set. sell both in janary or leave them free in the summer, by sidelining them for 6 months. they shouldnot get away unpunished, especially if we fail to qualify for the next round in the CL, or in the UEFA cup. Gabbia,Tomori,Kajer + Kalulu are enough for the backline. Now that Tonali is superb, we definitely dont need kessie for this year. bring pobega or adli back in the winter and we are going to be fine.
Departures of Dollar,Kebab,Kessie and Romagnoli should be teaching stuff for the future of Maldini
