RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 06-07-2011 After reading that article on Italian net, who really think Italy is a strong side and is apparently the Barca in National team? For christs sake, they heated Estonia not Brazil or Spain. For all the jibes on EPL and it's players being overrated by eir own media, Italy is the same or worse. It is also these type of beliefs and mindsets fabricated by the media that causes people to think IT teams are okay, and still talented enough to be among the Worlds best. Which in fact they are far from it. Can't wait to see Euro next year where reality will hit and fans started screaming for what happened? I thought they were a great side. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ACMILAN1983 - 06-07-2011 According to the official site, Allegri has said the new midfielder plays in Italy. We've also been linked to Menez according to Milannews. Apparently we could get him for no more than 10m euros. For 10m I would personally got to Roma to pick him up.

Is Menez one who can "take us to the next level" or complete our squad? Don't know him too well, but for an attacking player to score 2 goals in 31 league matches this season isn't exactly impressing. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Kaka1899 - 06-07-2011 Mediaset has said we have a deal with Mexes but not Roma yet, giving that Borriello's deal is still in the air it wouldn't be difficult to sort out a deal for Mexes, maybe even a straight swap and 2 million Euros to us? as i'm 90% sure that we valued Borri at 12 mil? RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - russo-neri - 06-07-2011 (06-07-2011, 08:14 AM)Gabriel426 Wrote: You know whats funny, the current Milan is still the same team that could not score a goal against the Spurs this past season. Regarding your first point: While I absolutely agree about the need for midfield players, this really is not the same team that played spurs. MvB, Cassano and even Urby were all cuptied. Boateng (1st leg) Ambro, Inzaghi and Zambro were all injured. Not to mention Mexes and Taiwo. Milan really didn't have any depth last year because of injuries and cuptied players and really had no chance to get far in Europe. Regarding your second point: La Liga is ridiculous in terms of it's tv deals and Italy is not far behind. EPL is by far the most fair league in the world. Everyone in EPL splits half the tv money equally among all the teams and the other half goes proportionately to the teams based on where they end up in the table. So Man U definitely gets significantly more money than Blackpool, but Blackpool still gets a decent sum. EPL sells THEIR LEAGUE, not their sexy teams. It makes for a competitive league that is respected around the world. You need teams like Lecce and Parma to get enough money in order to be competitive. Who wants to see a league where Milan are the top dog playing against Serie C caliber teams each week, beating everyone by 5 goals and never once being tested year after year. It would be boring. I miss the old days of Serie A where 5-7 teams were contending each year. I guess what I'm saying is that the big teams like Milan should be rewarded for success, but not to the level that you see in La Liga. Money should be shared because all 20 teams have a stake in the competition. Who said anything about Italy being the Barca of national sides? The only comparison with Barca was the strategy - not the effectiveness. No one in their right mind is saying Italy is as strong internationally as Barca is at the club level. Show me one article that intimates that. And the praise they are getting now is not only because they beat Estonia, but also they are comfortably in first place in their group going 5-1-0. You should give them a little credit. And no one is as bad as the English when it comes to hyping up their national team. They speak of their team with a sense of entitlement - that their national team is one of the best in the world - even tho they have accomplished nothing in over 40 years. Why the hate of Italy? Are you french or something? RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 06-07-2011 (06-07-2011, 01:13 PM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: According to the official site, Allegri has said the new midfielder plays in Italy. He is turning into another Galliani in the summer - messing with the media and fans. I say that he is Gallegri. ![]() RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - mrki - 06-07-2011 I have to say I havent been following Menez this year, so I expect some of you to say your oppinions? Not just: he's a good player, great buy etc., but how can he adopt to our sistem etc.? Thanx. ![]() Anyway, it could be that we'll be getting Maxwell as MArek left, Didac will, and Taiwo has an African nations cup... Maybe Taiwo still gets his french passport so... it will be an interesting summer for sure! RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 06-07-2011 First of all, why should the league not sell it's TV rights based on the winning teams. It took EPL about 15 yrs to get to where they are now, but it started like Liga. Having a competitive could means all the teams are crap or are great. As of now, the Serie A is not a fun league to watch, just look at the empty stadiums and the quality of board casting compare to the likes of EPL and Liga. That's got to change. Also, as Serie A as a whole is not attractive, you can only sell those who is, ie Milan, Inter, Juve...Once money start rolling in, teams like Lecce and Parma will also get it's benefits. As for my jibe on IT, well, they are not in a strong group and Estonia ain't Brazil of Europe. I don't hate Italian but stating that media is over playing it as bas as the English with their EPL. Honestly (and I know I'm going to sound like a cranky old man), but what the hell is the point of leaking half ass wrong information? Milan mgmt act like that loudmouth person you're playing poker against. Always talking smack and entertaining himself. Me, I'm more of the silent type. I keep quiet not trying to give anything away and that's when I unleash my straight flush on you. If it is because they are trying to leak misinformation so that our competitors in the mercato are thrown off, giving us an edge on a target, then why do it yourself - why not leak the info to the media and let them run the stories. You don't see Inter or Juve doing what we do. If it is because they are getting a kick out of spreading bullshit, then seriously - get a life! I mean how old are you? I prefer a mgmt that is quiet and calculating as opposed to juvenile and entertaining. Truth is, I don't think Milan have a plan. I think they are hoping to wait it out until we find a desperate seller and then we might get someone cheap. But that is so dangerous. Who knows if there will be anyone decent come Aug 31? We might have just gotten lucky last year for Robinho and Ibra. There's no certainty it could happen again. |
