RE: Summer mercato 2020 - mazen111 - 09-02-2020 (09-02-2020, 07:06 PM)slifersd Wrote: A lot of fans like to talk smack about Elliott and Gazidis, and it is certainly not without merits to criticize them for a lot of the things they did. But those guys have done a remarkable job managing the finances of Milan in the last few years. When Galliani was in charge, our wage bill was killing us even when we were in the CL or even winning CL. Since Elliott took over, we have been trimming useless big salaries every year to free up money to spend. Without that, we would be doing free agents with giant salaries just like when Galliani was here. Naaah. Team is weak and no Ibra next year so back to 5 zero from Atalanta RE: Summer mercato 2020 - mazen111 - 09-02-2020 (09-02-2020, 08:18 PM)Artan Wrote: Kalulu and Robback under observation next friendlies. They look promising... No they are not RE: Summer mercato 2020 - nefremo - 09-02-2020 Cellino just said as soon as Tonali heard Milan was interested, he didn't wanna hear anyting else anymore. Inter, Man Utd, Barcelona...none of them. Just Milan. This kid is going to be loved by the fans. What a story! I love him already...and I was never 100% convinced. But he is one of us!!!! That's all that matters. A fanatic just like us. I wouldn't doubt it if he visits Milan forums!

RE: Summer mercato 2020 - devoted_dm - 09-02-2020 (09-02-2020, 07:06 PM)slifersd Wrote: Maldini is certainly doing a good job with recruitment, when was the last time a Milan DS was labelled as "professional"? Remember when Galliani used to ride bicycles in shorts to negotiate transfers? Embarrassing. Completely agree about Maldini, who has brought the old Milan style back, but I think for the most part of his career at Milan Galliani was highly respected by other clubs for his negotiating style. It wasn't until we were broke and desperate that things got kind of ugly, and I definitely remember the days when if Galliani went on a mission to meet with the representatives of another club, it generally meant that he'd come back with a new player signed, often along with some praise from that other club's DS. It feels like ages ago now, but Milan was after all considered a pretty classy club back in the day, doing things with a certain old-school finesse that you don't really see in European football anymore. I think Maldini's strength in negotiations is that he has brought some of that style back to the club's management, but adapted to the modern realities of football. As a player he always approached other clubs with his trademark gentlemanly, yet confident and professional style, and it's good to see him act the same way in his current position. I'm sure being the best defender in football history also helps when talking to players, of course... He may not succeed in all these deals, but at least he's looking in all the right directions. Milan is in the front to win the race for the defender thanks to contacts that have been on for months now. (MN) Fofana would be a great pickup. but with Fofana in the works and us seemingly going after another CB, I'm assuming that we want to get rid of Duarte and Musacchio (09-02-2020, 07:06 PM)slifersd Wrote: A lot of fans like to talk smack about Elliott and Gazidis, and it is certainly not without merits to criticize them for a lot of the things they did. We'd suddenly kill our long term approach just to accommodate an old Messi. Not convinced he's going to be a superstar like so many are but suddenly super excited because we need players like that that love the club and fight for the shirt they're wearing. RE: Summer mercato 2020 - sylrus - 09-03-2020 note on messi, i dont want him either in milan, from barca that i want just suarez, that guy is magnificent. but just forget about the biting thing RE: Summer mercato 2020 - WCmilan - 09-03-2020 Talks are intensifying of a Paqueta + 25m deal for Chiesa being close to done. Apparently the payments will be paid over 2 years, with 10m being paid upfront and 15m paid next year. Furthermore, this would not rule out Diaz as a signing with loan+option+buyback for Madrid as that also comes close to conclusion. |
