Welcome to MM Karl08 Smile Good spot on my mistake, I thought Auba had spent longer in the youth team, but my memory is clearly hazy. That's fairly moot though, as more important is he was in the club at a time when we were on top. If you're Locatelli, Calabria or Romagnoli, sat in the dressing room with a world class player who had trained and played with guys like Maldini, Seedorf and Nesta, it's going to inspire you.

Hitman, as much as I'd like Dembele, I really think we need some experience. Right now we've been buying young talents, but it's vital to compliment them with quality experienced players that can help them grow and take some pressure off their shoulders

Honsano, no signing yet, but there are rumours we will see something even as soon as tomorrow.

Yeah it's just a matter of time, I think. Kalinic has publicly stated that he wants to leave Fiorentina and join us, and Biglia is on an expiring contract. In both cases we've made our interest clear, but are not pushing too hard, rather playing the waiting game while the players and their agents work to make the transfer happen.
At the end of the day, Lotito knows he'll have to sell Biglia. He is just trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible, which of course is a fair tactic when you're losing an important player (I'd expect Milan to do the same in that situation).
As for Kalinic I'm slightly less sure that he'll come, because Fiorentina are the kind of club I could see keeping a want-away player just out of spite. There's also the matter of Aubameyang, who seems to not be going to China after all. But most likely we will still sign Kalinic at some point this summer.

In both cases I think it's interesting to see how the way we operate on the market has changed now that we have money to spend again. We're almost sitting back and waiting for the players to come to us, rather than aggressively pursuing them. We're acting like a big club again, and it's really encouraging to see.

What formation are we playing to have all of Suso, Cuadrado, Conti on the right? The first two are not going to sit on the bench waiting for Europa or Coppa games I don't think, and Conti is too good for the bench too

Milan will meet with his father in few days to explain that €8m/yr is more than enough, his father dropped his demands from €13m to €12m/yr

Sport Italia's Pedulla says that by Monday we will know if Aubameyang will accept Tianjin's offer.

Pedulla also confirms that if Aubameyang stayed in Europe he wants at least €11-12m/yr.

Aubameyang currently earns €3.8m/yr with Dortmund, that's why he wants to leave.

Better take what he can get

Well in all honesty, if we are going to use wingers than we need at least another one. Calhanoglu is not a winger for me. He is a CAM or mezzala. That leaves us with only Bonaventura and Suso (and even these 2 aren't all out wingers). This is obviously assuming that Niang will be gone. Borini has been mentioned as a back up wide player, but again, imo he is more of a SS than a winger. So if our primary formation next season will be requiring wingers, than we are definitely short at the moment so Cuadrado makes sense. Having said that, I really don't want to give Juventus any money so I would rather us look elsewhere.

About Aubameyang, I agree with parts of what hitman said but also with parts of what Dev said. He is definitely a huge player and one of the top strikers in the world. I would definitely not complain if we got him and it would be a huge statement. The team definitely lacks a striker that can hit 25 goals in Serie A without too much of a fuss. Can Aubameyang do that? For the money that we would be paying him, he better! I said at the beginning of the summer that my #1 choice for the striker position is Aubameyang. More so than Morata or anyone else we were linked to including Belotti (mainly due to the price when it came to Belotti). However, things have changed ever since we splashed 38mil on Andre Silva, and in line with what hitman is saying, if we have 70mil ready to be spent and I had a choice, I would rather splash that on a big midfield player or a winger. What I'm saying is I would rather get Mordic for 50mil and 10mil salary than Aubameyang for 70mil and 8ml salary. I understand that Modric may not be touchable for any club in the world, but you get my idea. Having said that, if there aren't any identifiable big midfield/winger players that we could realistically get with this money, than hell yes, I would be ecstatic with Aubameyang.

About Dembele, I think he will have a huge impact in the world of football. He is that kind of a talent. So I would definitely splash that 70mil on him. The problem is, I don't think we could get him. I feel like as soon as an offer like that is accepted, his agent will pimp him out to every other big club in Europe and we will see clubs like Real, Utd, City, Chelsea, PSG, Barcelona (which by the way, weren't they rejected for him?) enter the frame.

I will gladly give Juve money to make our squad better. One step closer to CL qualification, one step closer to challenging for Italy.

I'd rather Aubameyang than Modric. We need someone who's guaranteed to put goals in the back of the net. I think Biglia will be good enough to finish off our midfield this mercato

I'm sceptical about Aubameyang because of this whole China story. If money is so important to him that he's willing to go to China to earn it, at this point in his career, then I think his heart might not be in it if he comes to us. On the other hand he's definitely a top striker, the kind of player we need.

That's just the thing though.....he is actually not willing to go to China and earn a lot more according to these latest reports.

@AC_Troy...fair enough on your choice between Aubameyang and Modric. My point was if Andre Silva can score close to 20 goals, than we shouldn't really worry about that part too much. Modric on the other hand will help us dominate almost anyone in Seie A. Either way, one or the other improves us immensely. Biglia isn't a bad move either. Combination of Biglia and Auba would seriously put us as one of the contenders for the scudetto.


On another note, I just saw the Conti presentation. Fassone said that Mirabelli was interested in Kessie and Conti since last August. That was way before they had their impressive seasons. This is a huge plus for Mirabelli. Makes me feel a lot better about these 2 guys. Shows that we didn't just buy them off the top of just 1 good season. Clearly Mirabelli saw something in them even last summer and his intuitions were just confirmed over the season.
