Yea, unfortunately, I highly doubt we'll sign and outright RW at this point. Best case scenario is someone like CDK who could play as an ACM and a left sided AM (not a winger).
Didn't we buy Brahim to play out on the wings? We than moved him centrally because Hakan didn't cut it. Anyway, I think it may be time to try Diaz out on the right again. He has the tools for it and won't get bullied as much physically like he does in the middle.
If we sign the following, for me it would be a highly successful summer.
1) CM - two way CM that can play bith sides if the ball. Renato was ideal, but it looks like that shipp has sailed. So someone similar to that. Can play as a LCM, CM (just ahead of the pivots) or ACM as necessary.
2) LW or ACM - CDK signing may check this box perfectly. He seems to be an "in-between" player. Can play centrally or start from out wide and come central. He doesn't look like a winger to me, but that's not a negative. This is all from youtube though. So, could be very wrong
3) CB - We got Kalulu, Tomori, Gabbia and Kjaer. Number wise, a CB may not seem like a big necessity. But not sure what condition Kjaer will come back with and Gabbia, although talented, needs to play to improve. Therefore he needs to be loaned out. I liked how he performed against Köln, but summer friendlies are hard to judge. His talent has never been an issue for me, but the injuries and Kalulu have killed his game time. With that his cinfidence and development has suffered.
So yes, imo, a CB is necessary. Tanganga was highly rated, but another injury case that has resulted in him barely playing recently. He does fit the mould of defenders we want though. Physical, athletic, fast, good 1v1, able to play high line, etc.
We are out of the race for the likes of Bremer because the prices are just insane and this isn't a #1 preaaing need for us. So I agree woth management that we don't spemd so much on a CB.
From here on out, it's be nice to get a LB. FBT seems out of his depth. I thought he was horrible against Köln as well and this is the perfect time for him to show he can hang.

1. we dont need that, we got pobega and adli there, its covered
2. LW not needed if rebic healthy and perform, acm a need, a must
3. give the youngster a chance, like nikolaos michelis i prefer we go for a backup LB to replace balo toure
remember we also need to fill a quota on ucl with homegrown players
who is it right now? calabria, pobega, gabbia who else? we still need to fill that quota unless daniel maldini is not being loaned out, we are safe

I'm not fully convinced in Pobega. Hope I'm wrong. On Adli, this is his first year in Italy and 1st year in Milan. Let's not forget how Tonali's 1st year here went. Or Kessie's 1st 2 years. Yes, we were a mess back then when it comes to Kessie, I get that. But my point is that there is a transitional time. There is a period of adaptation for a young player like Adli. Remember, Kalulu also went through this. He wasn't the player he is today right away. He barely played the 1st 6 months. Than eased into it but made some big mistakes. People were even considering selling/loaning him out in the summer. So we need to be aware of this development process without losing sight of beung able to perform at high levels while the young talented players adapt and grow.
We lost a big piece in the midfield in Kessie. I am happy with Tonali - Isma starting pair, but beyond that, I am not convinced the options are good enough (or simply ready to step in and perform right away). I would definitely get rid of Bakayoko. I am split on Pobega, but I'm ok with him being a bench optiom for now. Adli's position is yet to be determined but I would leave him in piece this year. I am not saying stick him on the bench and forget him. Just saying be prepared in case he needs to take time to adapt.
Krunic is average. Despite his showing in the closing stages of the season, he is not a player that will help us in the CL. I think we need 1 more "ready" player. We can rely on Tonali and Bennacer + the new CM. Adli and Pobega can be the backups without too much pressure. Krunic is the joker.
I really don't think we can rely on Pobega, Adli and Krunic in case Tonali/Bennacer are out.
Does Michelis count for the home quota? Interesting player. I thought he looked good against Koln. I see we bought him in January 2019 when he was 17. He stayed with us for 2 and a half seasons and than went to Willem on loan last season.

New reports that Marcelo will sign with us for 2 years at 2.5m + bonuses to be a vice Theo. I know reports were also circulating a few weeks back.
I actually welcome this signing. A super talented squad with players like Ibra, Marcelo and co will be paramount to competing in CL.

I wouldn't mind Marcelo. A little samba is missing in Milan in recent times. The only issue is his injury problems. It's hard to be a back up to a player, when you are injured a lot yourself.
He missed 15 games this past season due to injuries (according to transfermarkt). In terms of days, it was 78. Now, most of those (53 days) came in August - October due to a muscle injury, so hopefully that's behind him. But it's been an injury ridden time for a few years now.
Still, his presence and ability (even at 34) is not up for question.

Why on earth would one of the most honoured players in the history of football come to Milan at 34 just to sit on the bench as a backup!? I mean, I'm ok with it if it happens. I understand that Maldini is his hero and all that, but why do that for the last 1-2 years of your career?

Not sure too many clubs are interested. From what I remember in coming across news about him....it's us and some clubs in Turkey. I'm sure many others would jump at the possibility of signing him, but if they are top clubs, they won't offer starting spots anyway just like us. The others are probably at the level of Fiorentina, etc.
Anyway, 2.5mil guaranteed for 2 years is not too bad either.
But in the end, I can see him go back to Brazil and finish his career probably gain a few kilos along the way and collect a good paycheck while being hailed as a king there.
