RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 05-28-2011 It would be sad if that was still true when the next season starts. It would show lack of ambition of our management, so hopefully it will change. We have three more months to look forward to.

He played 30 minutes subbing for Nesta in a Champions League game against Zurich (Milan didn't allow a goal while he was in there, so he couldn't have been as bad as you claim). Aside from that, his only action was in three friendlies in the United States during the summer. He actually did some nice things in those friendlies, although he also showed he needed work in some areas. He was 27 then. So, again, you don't really have anything on which to base your opinion aside from the general attitude he faced from the moment he joined the club which was that because he's American he automatically sucks. Few Milan fans were willing to give him a chance from day one and once he was injured he had no way of improving his game and winning the fans over. So I stand by my assertion that Gooch was an excellent player for Standard Liege, an excellent player for the USMNT. We'll probably never know if he could have developed into a useful squad player for Milan had he not suffered his injury. Rick needs a chill pill, or a sense of humor injection. My mistake about the MLS comment though. I guess I confused watching him on the national team with playing in the MLS. That's because his play was not very memorable. Rick, I hereby donate the thumbs up I was given to you:
RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - payne - 05-28-2011 MANCHESTER UTD (05-28-2011, 03:13 PM)mzk57 Wrote: I think Ibrahimovic should be sold to Man City for 30-40 mil & the money should be used to bring back Huntelaar, Diego & Arshavin hahaha this is funny.i only give ibra to mancity for tevez or for balotelli and stakes in another player RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ElMago99 - 05-28-2011 Tevez doesn't seem to want to leave for Italy. He probably only wants Spain or Argentina. Also, Brazilians & Argentine's really do not like each other, however, think of the amount of counter-attacks this would provide: -----------------Pato------------------- -------Robinho-------Tevez---------- * As Hitman has states, switch Tevez with Neymar and in a few years, we could have the (3) best forwards in world. All Brazilian, able to understand each other's every move. Ibrahimovic is a great player, Top 5 most talented offensive players in the world, easily. His Goals win Championships. However, his play differs greatly from the Brazilians, and obviously the Catalans. Cassano from the bench, can come in and easy mesh with the brazilians because of his technical abilities. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - JuanShoe - 05-28-2011 You're right. Dani Alves and Messi can't play together. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 05-28-2011 I will give Onyewu some credits, at least he was better than Senderous in the air. If Slowdorf and Prince will be our CAM next year, can u just imagine playing against Barcelona? Watching the finals today makes me realize that unless u midfield is mobile, and can press for 90mins, u better play counter attack football against Barcelona. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-28-2011 Barcelona is on a different level then every team imo.. in a champions league final having almost 70% ball possession is outstanding, messi will win fifa world player and golden ball again it looks likely, while i also have to give my heads up to iniesta this guys out of this world.. back to mercato i hope boateng and seedorf aren't our CAM's next year, but then again Galliani always plays games during the transfer market so i never really take into consideration anything he sais until its official.. Galliani and allegri in london?? Probably to watch the final but then again maybe bale, fabregas? :O Barca imo now is like us in our golden era, until there players begin to retire or drop form no team will equal to them. does this mean we cant win champions league of course not but any team would need luck to knock out barca . i think fabregas would take us to a next level, while i think bale and fabregas would probably see us up there with barca.. all we need to do is dish out the money, we're not a team in debt anymore at all we should have flexibility even if our revenue isnt the best| As far as onyewu goes he's definitely not a player for milan but we can't say he's all that bad he wasn't given a chance at milan and when a players morale is as low as his you cant expect him to preform much better at twente.. america and canada are on the rise as far as football goes compared to a few years ago we can look forward to alot more talent coming up, not all world class not all european quality but we will see more american players in top flight football in a few more years RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Arildonardo - 05-28-2011 (05-28-2011, 09:51 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: I will give Onyewu some credits, at least he was better than Senderous in the air. No team can stop Barcelona now. We could buy any two players in the world and it wouldn't make us as good as Barcelona, unless one of them was Messi of course. It will take time to get to that level again, like we were back in the early 90's. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Aficio - 05-28-2011 I've just remembered one former CB who was very good in the air, Martin Lausen. He scored some goals for us, but his positioning was not impressive. We need players like Sheva & Kaka who have both brain and quick feet. Giggs and Rooney showed something today. There are Binho and Pato, but each one has own weakness. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 05-28-2011 (05-28-2011, 09:59 PM)Arildonardo Wrote:(05-28-2011, 09:51 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: I will give Onyewu some credits, at least he was better than Senderous in the air. We don't need to go back too far to the Sacchi's era. Milan Ancelotti is Barca's level. Guirdiola 'only' copy paste Rijkaard systeam and they couldn't play their own game again us in 2005. But hell yeah, it is hard to make a team like that since the team have been ruined by management for quite long of time. |
