Relaying on youth players is also a problem for us really, since we are also incredibly bad at developing these players. Looking at the good young players we have had the last few years, and they all seem to follow the same trajectory. They broke out and look like superstars in the making the first year; and almost immediately start missing significant time in the next couple of years with injuries after injuries; and then eventually flame out because they can never get on the field for three weeks straight. Pato did this, ELS did this, DES did this as well. One guy is an accident, but all three guys doing the exact same thing? That is just unusual, and to me, shows just how badly we are at player development. We can sit here and talk about how much we need to develop young players but it won't make a difference when every single young talent starts their injury tour by their second season.

Winter mercato is cancelled , already some panic like moves rumours of swapping Niang with Obiang...Obiang had a good scond half of the season in 11/12 but he's been mediocre at best since .The lad has actually regressed , Milan wanting yesterdays news what a shocker.

Expectations are so low that I think we should be happy if at least the weak areas are addressed. For example I saw something that mentions Taarabt, yes still him. I mean how many wingers and attacking third players do we need?

I think our main priority should be getting rid of more deadweight. There's still plenty to pick from.
We can't continue with "1-out-1-in", that would only mean replacing crap with equal crap. We need "4-out-1-in" so we can at least have someone decent.

Its pretty clear we need better CB's very good CM's an actual dependable CF and legit creativity.Those are we cannot get for free or extremely cheap.
Most fans were shocked when we actually paid €5m for Bonaventura.If anyone thinks that the crap will be moved on and key areas (which is almost everywhere) will be addressed then you'd be waiting a long time.
The team is 100% mid-table maybe EL at best.There are pretty much no signs of anything changing , cheap free or loan.I dont care anymore I dont get amped up for games I find myself losing interest throughout.I still support Milan but I expect nothing other thsn 8/9/10th position come May.

I agree with Arildonardo on this. There's no point in getting more players of mediocre quality, it makes more sense to focus on getting rid of those who simply shouldn't be there. The squad has a reasonable first team, but there's 0 quality in depth or you're looking at a situation where players aren't the right fit.
For example, in CBs I'd say what should be the first 3 choices in Zapata, Rami and Alex are ok (not great, but that's not easy to get these days), but then you're talking about Bonera, Mexes and Zaccardo in the squad. We have Abate at RB without a proper backup (unless you count Bonera and Zaccardo). Armero, who is a poor defender, is the only seemingly accepted alternative to DES.
In midfield the real problems exist. De Jong's the only guarantee right now and while I value his qualities, I don't think he's a player to build around. Montolivo's a risk coming back from injury, but if on form will infinitely help. Poli's a decent backup, but at this point is a guaranteed starter. Muntari and Essien shouldn't even be in the squad imo. Saponara's risking limbo again now that we're moving away from 4-3-3. Bonaventura was apparently signed for midfield, but isn't used there and Van Ginkel has had 20 minutes before getting injured. The players who offer any sort of creativity (Montolivo, Bonaventura and Saponara) are unavailable or not used deeper, without adequate alternatives, while others are all players who can offer individual qualities, but aren't players who are reliable in a set system.
The attack is equally strange. Honda's done well despite playing in a role that's not natural for him and I think that's a lot due to his mental strengths. Menez is similar in he's done well, but also isn't really a player to set up around (he doesn't fit in particular systems), El Shaarawy is questionable given his injury issues but one I think can come good, while Mastour is too young to rely on. The strikers are 3 players who have been struggling to score for at least a year, meaning whichever you use they offer little guarantees or confidence in such an important role.
If you look at the quality of the individuals, then I think you're talking about some decent players, but as a unit this squad is very poorly constructed. There's too many players with limitations that affect the overall qualities of the organisation in the side.
Moreso, Pippo's got to show much more than he has tactically imo. Not to say I think he's a bad coach or not good tactically, but it's also damning that until now he's only had a clean sheet in TIM trophy (two 45 minutes without conceding). This isn't something new, his Primavera side also appeared to concede with regularity and if he wants to succeed, he has to pay much more attention to this aspect of the game. His choices at times also are questionable. His faith in Bonera is very debatable, but so is his reliance on Menez, a valuable player, but hardly a guaranteed starter as well as the likes of relying on Muntari and Essien.
Fundamentally, what it comes down to is he's relying on the same individuals that his predecessors did and we're seeing the same flaws and mistakes that they made before (as well as similar tactical shapes). The side needs a coach who is prepared to make more difficult but necessary decisions.

^^ I agree with everything you said all of it , its what needs to be done.But with our MGT the cheapest route is what will be done , theres no right way just the cheapest way ...there no rhyme or reason to anything they do.What needs to be done simply won't be done , Take selling Balotelli (not a bad move) 20m in but nothing spent , fans said they cant sell him and replace with a free player yet its exactly what happened.For the proper changes to happen money must be spent but it won't be.The way they sign players isn't what players fit the system its what cheap or free players can we get regardless of position or quality.

Our apparent new signing for January Suso from Liverpool will undergo surgery and is out for two months(milannews). Some reports say we'll now turn our attention to Eduardo Salvio of Benfica.
An interesting player, but why the hell are we still looking at attackers? We need to sign a top top quality midfielder before we do absolutely anything.

Eduardo Salvio has a 40m release clause , its what put Arsenal off signing him.Does anyone think he's an option
Judging by how we struggle have no creativity Jan will be panic stations enter some freebies , maybe Joe Cole , Simone Pepe is Giuly still playing ?
