RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 02-14-2015 Here's the story Reza: http://www.football-italia.net/62621/thai-group-pays-%E2%82%AC1bn-milan It's a Thai investor and a Chinese group, Wanda, are interested in funding the stadium: http://forzaitalianfootball.com/2015/02/chinese-investor-for-ac-milan-stadium-project/? RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - Arildonardo - 02-14-2015 And Berlusconi is denying the reports of a sale: http://football-italia.net/62625/berlusconi-no-milan-sale RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 02-16-2015 I forgot to say before, but thanks for that last update. More news flying around today that Thai Investors, specifically Bee Taechaubol, are ready to invest big to get Milan. Talk is they've offered 1 billion for a majority stake (50%) of Milan over a 3 year period: http://www.milannews.it/dall-estero/bangkokpostcom-taechaubol-vuole-il-50-del-milan-168688 Milannews has written an article here raising doubts about the rumours. Mostly just saying about how this guy is a pretty shady character and on his own, doesn't seem to have the financial power to spend that amount: http://www.milannews.it/primo-piano/mn-taechaubol-milan-i-dubbi-sul-thailandese-e-i-fastidi-di-casa-milan-la-ricostruzione-168690 There are also rumours that Silvio has already met this guy on January 18th about a possible sale: http://www.milannews.it/altre-notizie/repubblica-il-18-gennaio-bee-teachaubol-ha-incontrato-berlusconi-ad-arcore-168678 RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - millinarios - 02-16-2015 He should be getting the club on loan from Berlusconi, with an option to buy. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - devoted_dm - 02-16-2015 (02-16-2015, 01:50 PM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: Milannews has written an article here raising doubts about the rumours. Mostly just saying about how this guy is a pretty shady character and on his own, doesn't seem to have the financial power to spend that amount: Yeah according to that article, Fininvest are having doubts about this sale, which is good. I'd love to see an investor buy a minority stake in the club (Fininvest released a statement today saying that they are not negotiating about a majority sale), but it does actually matter where the money comes from too. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 02-16-2015 Finnivest has denied a sale and reiterated the message from last week. http://www.football-italia.net/62713/milan-deny-takeover-rumours RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - honsano - 02-17-2015 You guys hear about Sacchi's comments? Man why does he have to become racist. Disappointing but now I hope he doesn't take that advisory role with Milan any more. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/too-many-blacks-italian-football-sacchi? RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 02-17-2015 I just read that, there is something really wrong with people that I don't want to try to figure out anymore. He will probably or has already 'clarified' it but as far as I am concerned unless the quote is 100% made up he should retire or stay away. People like Tavecchio are elected and we might have little choice but live with their position but otherwise people like them should just stay away. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - Mystik - 02-17-2015 I'd like to believe that's false but knowing Italy I wouldn't be too surprised. Doesn't Sacchi know that people of all colours have Italian citizenship? I particularly laughed at the whole "I worked with Rijkaard so I'm not racist". Hopefully this will all be shown to be inaccurate tomorrow. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 02-17-2015 Seeing this first thing today was a massive disappointment. I will say I think he's genuine in what he's trying to say. He risked his job to get Rijkaard to Milan and he valued Gullit almost more than anyone in his Milan for the strength he brought to the dressing room. I also believe he has a point with saying more Italians need to be shown faith (as I said commenting on Silvio's latest comments), although frankly at youth level it's much less of a determining factor than at senior level, so I fundamentally disagree with his point in that respect. All that said, his comments are terrible. What he says IS racist even if he's saying he's not. Worse still, the very fact that he can't seem to understand how his comment is racist is just ignorant. It's really disheartening to see someone who fundamentally shaped my view of football and someone who I genuinely looked up to in the sport make these comments. With the club owner seemingly a right wing nationalist and an all round horrible person, the longest serving player a self admitting fascist and now possibly the greatest coach in the club's history and one of the biggest influences on my view of the sport being racist, I'm incredibly deflated. It's interesting because my view is becoming more and more like Gabriele Marcotti on being a supporter. He supported Inter when younger, but stopped as he became a journalist, as he struggled to positively identify everything about them and had respect and admiration for competitors. You can see his comments on it here: http://manutd24.co.uk/2010/01/11/exclusive-interview-the-times-journalist-gabriele-marcotti/ My view is similar these days. I supported Milan since I was a child and frankly for all the good that I saw back then, there's little denying that when it comes down to it Milan has a dark side that many of us, including me, will turn a blind eye on and instead focus on the more romantic elements. The same goes with other clubs, lots will have good and bad about them, things I admire, but others which I loathe. This is just another one of those things, something I loathe. |
