Berlu like most big businessmen can be corrupt but selling a sports team is not like buying tanks for war in this place or that place. I would love to say fans need transparency and I agree fans do need the transparency but that is not my worry as much, my worry is does he have money after paying for Milan, we need long term investments, one 200 million summer makes little difference if 5 years from now he has nothing more.

THIS!
We don't need to know everyone involved. We just need to know that they have the money to continue to invest in the club in the long term. Likely, with some of the names being thrown around early, there's a reason why we don't know who/where the money comes from. Not that it's illegal, but could be for political reasons. Let's not forget Silvio was stuck. He couldn't keep bailing us out while sacking people from his company... He wouldn't have been dropped from fininvest. But say he was a silent partner... Then he's able to keep pumping money in, and sack people from the company while publicly looking innocent... well as innocent as Silvio can look anyway.

There could be many reason's. We'll likely eventually know where the money is coming from but in the mean time, I'm just happy that these guys have invested in the club. We're in a position where if they do not have money, and can't find it, a large portion of the cluyb will be owned by Elliot and sold off to another party to cover losses.
In this worst case scenario, we might be faced with a mercato or two more uncertainty but in the mean time it won't change who we have, and who was bought.

We can only go by what we currently know. We've got new owners. Who seem to have money. And seem to have a decent plan to bring us back up economically. Just need to work on transferring that into results.

My prediction is that Milan will be sold again and I think that's best case scenario

If Yonghong Li doesn’t pay back his debt to Elliott Management, they will put Milan up for sale “to the highest bidder,” confirmed a representative.

It's a shit article. Although he said those things....they conveniently leave out the part where he says that the owners are meeting all commitments and are providing capital increase injections as agreed.

The lack of clarity surrounding this ownership's background is certainly something to be concerned about. Sure, the owners shouldn't have to show us their bank statements in order to justify their financial standing, but these guys don't even seem like they run an actual company in China. And I do think the source of these guys' money is very important for us all because it can have a huge impact on the club's future. There is a big difference in having your company funded by Jeff Bezos vs. some guy who just won the lottery even though the dollar amount of the investment is the same.

All those stuff, crap stories, speculations etc could have been avoided if owners decided to go full transparency. But they decided to keep things away from public and now they need to "pay the price" for that decision. That price are those stories we read almost every week.
From there we have two roads - first ,came out in public and crush doubts once for all with concrete proofs; or ,second , press charges and go to court ,crush them there ,take compensation money from media ,give it for charity and goodbye.
But ,our owners didn't took any of those ,which make things even worse.

The thing is no one is required to have 'public' proof, do you realize that Man United are bought and being financed via loans? Like I said in my earlier post on this page yes it is nice to know but articles are taking it a bit too far.

RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - slifersd - 01-18-2018

I don't think any Milan fan or even the media outlets are that concerned about how the new owners structured their bid to buy the club. Like you said, Reza, Man U was bought the same way. Actually, many of these kind of transactions involve some level of financing from external sources. The difference between us and the Glazers is that the Glazers are well known billionaires. They own an NFL team and people know they have the money to buy whatever they want. Yonghong, on the other hand, is a complete unknown to the world. He apparently owns a company that doesn't open its office doors and yet somehow got all this money to buy a European club. It is that kind of secrecy that arouses suspicions. Until the new ownership address some of these concerns, mainly, who are they and how they got their money, the questions will always linger. That is just how this business works. And when investigative journalists can't even find the office of the company you own? Well, you can naturally guess what happens next.

The issue is all this assumes Fininvest didn't care as long as somebody had nice looking documents. I don't see any reason to believe a newspaper over Fininvest and this from a person (me) who is not even close to being a fan of big businesses like Fininvest.

RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - slifersd - 01-19-2018

Fininvest is in this for the money, nothing more, nothing less. As long as Berlu and Fininvest gets the 1B, they couldn't care less who or where all of this actually come from. Marina Berlusconi, who runs Fininvest, had long seen Milan as a liability and was advocating Silvio to get rid of it for years now. I am not sure what the payment schedule is like for the 700 whatever million Yonghong still had to pay to Berlu, but if it was all upfront, then Fininvest really doesn't have a single thing they should care about by now. The reality is, whether the money came from a third party lender, a crime syndicate or the league of shadows, it makes no difference to Fininvest and they don't really need to care. And for us all to assume they would sell the club to a responsible new owner who will invest continuously to make us great again is more wishful thinking than anything else.
