RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - russo-neri - 05-23-2011 Serie A duo link with Villa ace Milan and Napoli have targeted Aston Villa’s Nigel Reo-Coker, according to Skysports.com. The 27-year-old midfielder joined the Midlands club from West Ham in 2007 for £8.5m, signing a four-year deal. Now with his contract ending this summer he will become a Bosman free agent and has also been linked with several other European giants. However, it is believed that the two Serie A sides have shown the firmest interest. His agent Tony Finnigan claims there is interest from Spain, Germany and Turkey’s top clubs. “The interest from abroad is huge in Nigel, a team from just about every major League is looking at him,” he told skysports.com. “Milan, Napoli, Dortmund, Valencia and Fenerbahce are all looking at him.” RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Aficio - 05-23-2011 I've just seen some statistics about Nigel Neo-Coker. He plays best at DM, and is a captain. So I think he could be a replacement for Flamini if we sell the French DM. Another news: Milan chief Adriano Galliani says the club will only hand one-year contract extensions to players over the age of 30. http://www.football-italia.net/may23f.html RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 05-23-2011 (05-23-2011, 12:46 PM)Kaka1899 Wrote: did he actually say he would manage West Ham or did he use them as an example because he also said that hes never been to a Second Division (Championship) game in England but he would like to as the crowds are much bigger than they are in Italy and that whatever level a team is playing at he respects every one of them and other managers. He said something along the lines of he'd manage in England again and they have great fan's (who attack the players) and he likes them.It was taken out of context. Like when Pato did that nike commercial in London and when asks what he think's of London he said lovely place nice city , what else would he say.And the papers suddenly say Pato gives come get me plea to Chelsea. That phrase always annoys about English and Irish papers , come get me plea as if a player has ever said that. Reo-Coker ah oh em no comment. Still Spanish newspapers have to be the worst. Remember that photoshopped picture of Kaka when he was still in Milan holding up a Spanish newspaper whose cover was a celebration of Madrid winning La Liga? The idea was to show that Madrid was on Kaka's mind and he was celebrating the news as if he were part of the team. It turned out the photo was a fake. Spanish papers have no integrity. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gio-mania - 05-23-2011 It's quite interesting that Italian media/news papers are rather reputable in comparison to their Spanish and English counterparts. For example La Gazzetta which is supposed to be a tabloid (changed format a few years back) is very reputable. Sure, in Italy we have Tuttosport but no one takes them seriously and I'm not sure they ever go to such great lengths as those in England or Spain. Italian society is far from perfect but in this aspect, when I'm given these examples, seems to have some integrity. Which is a good thing by the way. However, I don't know how long this policy will last. I feel it is just a makeshift for now until we want to change it again. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-23-2011 my favorite type of midfielders are mvb and ambro, they do well defensively and make good passses, i am always confident when they start in the midfield RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - xudong - 05-23-2011 (05-23-2011, 04:34 PM)WCmilan Wrote: my favorite type of midfielders are mvb and ambro, they do well defensively and make good passses, i am always confident when they start in the midfield yes, that's why both stay, i guess. They will be competing for one position in the coming season. We can't expect both to physically maintain for 40+ fixtures. I think we HAVe to take Andrea Poli from Sampdoria. He's been playing anchor and done well. At the moment he'd be 3rd choice there but he'd learn A LOT from van bommel and ambrosini. More over he can get games at RCM and LCM and since sampdoria is relegated he can be obtained for little. Van Bommel- 49 tackles won in 1126 minutes, tackle every 23 minutes Ambrosini- 65 tackles won in 1365 minutes, tackle every 21.3 minutes Poli- 52 tackles won in 1252 minutes, tackle ever 24 minutes The ONLY young player in serie A who is on par in terms of tackling with Poli is nainggolan. One of Sampdoria's dumbest things was benching him early season... Poli is also a good passer (not great like pirlo) and was excellent in 2009/10, forming an excellent 2 man CM w/ palombo to finish 4th. Even if he fails at milan (i don't see it but it's possible) he could easily be sold for profit or loaned. We got Boateng off a relegated team, Abate off a relegated team and heck gattuso played for a team which finished 1 point off relegation and they had di vaio and di michele scoring regularly Besides sampdoria's problem wasn't defending. They were middle of table in conceded goals. It's just fact they only scored 33 this year because of the loss of cassano and pazzini. 2nd worst in serie a |
