RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - LebRN - 05-21-2011

thx for the reply abbeyleemania!
I guess that means Sissoko is hte type of player we are looking for (given he is good enough of course)

Regarding Diego, I only said he is a good option to replace Cassano (quality off the bench) and not to take the LM or CAM position because obviously he is not a LM and he hasn't proven he can be Milan's CAM but i still think he could be an excellent bench option instead of Cassano (however, i'm pretty sure he won't agree to be a bench player with the upcoming WC in Brazil).

As for Montolivo, i have to agree that his level in the last couple of years has been way below expectations and he is no longer a young player. I don't know if a change could revive him but yes it will be a big gamble especially if he will cost anything above 10Mio.

Regarding Asamoah, i think he is too good for Udinese to let him go for 10Mio...no way...the figure is around 20Mio i think or we will include some youngsters in the deal...

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ace - 05-21-2011

Messi Struggled vs Inter's defence, and you expect him to take Milan to the next level??

Messi in Serie A is a joke, he can't handle it....

btw, Messi failed when it mattered, if you say he is the best player on the planet(which, I totally disagree with) then he should have carried Argentina on his shoulders vs Germany, afterall that is what you expect from Ibra week in week out no?

let's Imagine Messi playing with Valencia or any other team in la liga, would he have 30+ goals?? hell no he won't, and neither would Ronaldo tbh...

i didnt watch Sissoko much lately, as im not much interested in Ligue 1 lately.

Bold part: I disagree ...
- Sissoko is a box-to-box CM/DM, but there is no way he can play as an attacking midfielder. If Sissoko comes for example, that would be only to replace Gattuso or Flamini in the team. If these both players stay, Sissoko will be useless.
- M'Vila can play football, he is good with the ball, he's not a pure destroyer, he is the modern CM, able to destroy AND "create" (no assist) ... The guy has the record of managed passes in Ligue 1 and he also got the best ratio of managed passes with the French NT since 2006 (92,5 %).

Second part: I agree ... Big Grin

Messi couldn't handle Serie A, when a fairly average player like Di Natale can score like 30 goals for two consecutive seasons?!?

Just out of curiosity, if not Messi, then who is the best player according to you?

As I said,Messi is the only player that for sure can lift Milan to the next level.

Not having a trequasita does ot mean your team can't win the CL. ManU never play with one and they made the CL finals 3 times in 4 years. Barcelona don't play with one and they are in 2 finals in 3years. The game has change and it is not a must to have someone like ZZ at the trequastia spot.

I don't totally disagree with you, but I think a fantasista like him need the best service to get the best out of him. If we supply him with the passes of Argentina NT's standard, pass then expect a show from him, we are doomed, the Tottenham memories are still painful to me.

I was wrong to use the trequarista concept, I just meant a great passer of the ball, like Xavi or Pirlo. With them, Messi can move without any delay, his off-the-ball movement is used the best and he needs only beat one or two opponents. If we pass to him like the way we pass to Ibra, it is even less effective.

If he doesn't get the best service, he can't play like the world best, so he can't "lift" the team. Because he is a forward, not a midfielder or defender.

I hate this notion that a) Messi is a failure with the national team and b) a single player can win a team a world cup or champions league. We live in a professional age where the organisation, fitness and tactical awareness of all teams is much better thanks to the professional game. This is why you can't compare between eras because of footballing evolution. You can say which one you think was the most entertaining, enjoyable or the player who was furthest ahead of his peers. No one man can win a world cup anymore and to be honest Maradona didn't win the world cup single handed anyway, that's just the way it is now spun to help glorify him more.

I meant his teammates didn't help him the way he needed, so he couldn't play like the world best. In that condition, only the god can. Messi is not god, so he can't.

Maradona was helped by all his teammates and coach. Kaka was helped by his inform teammates and coach. Messi was not helped but expected.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 05-21-2011

I had been saying for years that Milan needs 2 way midfielders if they want to win anything. Just imagine Milan get 2 more Boateng with better offensive skills.

As for Messi. Well, if you or anyone going to keep saying he is over rated due to leading Argentina to win a WC then according to this logic, not only is Maldini is over rated, he is also not as good as guys like Pugol, Cafu, Cannavaro and Blanc, as those four captained and led their teams to win the WC. Same can be said about Baggio. It is funny how people kept saying you can't judge a player by one game and ESP., one tournament like the WC. While the same people kept putting down the brilliance of Messi or any other player bc they have not win a WC. Curiyff was the best footballer in the 70s but he did not win a WC. Totti and DP won WC while not being at their peak of their career, they both played a part in winning, but really can't say they led Italy to victory. The Dutch trio never even made it pass the first knockout stage with
Holland, mainly due to injuries. A WC only happens once every four
years and lasted about a month. While clubs competitions last
throughout a year and happens every year. Time has change and I
think people should judge players by their performances on a regular
basis instead of a one month tournament which happens every 4 years.

You really can't say Messi struggle against Inter, therefore he will
struggle in Serie A. First of all, at was last year Inter coached by JM,
where they won everything. Secondly, Inter only beat Barcelona once,
and it was not like they dominated and crushed Barcelona, Inter was
just more clinical that's all. Thirdly, believe is or not, Serie A is not a
league fill with defensive power houses, it is a league where teams just
like to play for the draws against big teams, something that teams tend
to do when they play against Barcelona. Lastly, how would Messi not
bring Milan to another level? Don't let the Ibra and Messi can't play
together at Barca fools you, as it was more due to Pep and Ibra
problems then on pitch with Messi.

The thing is we all saw how Boateng and Robinho combined this season with great effects, just imagine Robinho with better finishing and dribbling....yep, that would be Messi. That's the reason why I think having Messi is 100 sure bet to improve the current Milan.

A Brazilian Fantastic four of Neymar, Hernanes, Jucelei and Sandro, if you ask me. Maybe you can get Lucas thrown me to sweeten the deal.

No-one, as football is a team game, so voting for a player to the best on the planet is, in my opinion, pointless and not needed...

but in my opinion if someone deserves credit for his heroics is Ibra of 2010(first half of Serie A) as he was scoring a goal almost every game and if he didn't score he assisted one...

so yeah for me, 1 goal in Serie A is worth 2 goals in La Liga...

and by the way, I wasn't saying he can't handle Sere A as in scoring goals... he can't handle Seria A because defending is much better than in La Liga and tackles are much harder, and players don't care about "star players" and their protection from refs... cause to be honest refs in Serie A don't care(unless you play for Inter... Big Grin) so, if Pato is getting injured more often than not, what would happen to Messi??

and Di Natali scring 28+ goals for the second year running is a great achievment and he should be given credit for that rather than say he's "average" as he's far from that.... I rate Di natali highly even though he failed at NT.

i saw his games with his club, as he was playing as CAM or like our Seedorf. this is why i said that...Capoune was their DM at that time.
