Right.. I actually agree Grinundwech

My point was, give the clown we have now a chance. I believe he earned it this season.

Wasted opportunity for another because of his own stupidity against Bayern... Serious coach with Jube which Allegri had/have at disposal would take at least one CL.

CL final is the top achievement for any player and coach. How many CL finals has Mancini? None, with an unlimited budget, that's a real clown not Allegri.

Winning CL final is top achievement. Nobody here says that Mancini isn't clown too. But ,let's be honest... he invented football for Montela. Than 2 + 2 and you see how bad coach we curently have.

It seems that "new owners" and Fassone + Mirabeli are on Jube - Barca game ,watching it. Maybe they're looking at our future players.

This debate is all over the place lol. My two cents:

Montella: I point back to an argument I made a little while ago when it comes to judging his tactical work, which is that this season so far he's never lost a tactical battle imo and that's evident on the fact that there's not a single match where a team can say they dominated us on a tactical level. Serie A has some excellent coaches in people like Allegri (I'll get to him in a moment), Sarri, Spalletti, Gasperini (one of the most underrated coaches in the world game imo), Giampaolo and even Simone Inzaghi who has been outstanding this season. He should be recognised on his merits in this respect, because not only has he proven his understanding of the game, but with limited resources he's had us going toe to toe against teams that should with all respect be dominating us with relative ease.

I don't buy into the whole "high profile" coach argument either, as I don't think Montella's profile is that low that players would question playing under him. Firstly, he might not be Guardiola or Mourinho, but he's a well respected coach in Europe, partly because of the brand of football he advocates, but also because his Fiorentina side were recognised both in Italy and in Europe when he was there. A coach's name only really plays so much of an importance in getting players, as money more than anything will convince players to join.

If the new management and ownership are looking to bring in a marketable name as coach we're pretty much going to fail. That's not because I don't rate guys like Guardiola and Mourinho, but because building a sporting project on the foundations of commercial decisions is doomed to fail.

On transfers, Montella may have given his approval to buy certain players, but by no means expect that it was his decisions to really go after them. The only coaches who can really say they had any significant influence on incoming players are Sacchi and Capello. Even then, Sacchi had to fight for the guys he wanted (Ancelotti and Rijkaard for example), while Capello had to accept players that Berlusconi wanted. Even Ancelotti didn't get the individuals he would have wanted.

Finally, his historical track record of not winning is judging him in completely the wrong way. He's never had a team that was capable of winning, but anyone who's followed his career as a coach will be aware he's done good to exceptional stuff in all of his jobs so far, with the one exception of Sampdoria, a team that even the owner recognised wasn't really suited to Montella.

Mancini: His profile aside, I think he's terrible. He's a deplorable character, both as a player and a coach and has never managed to maintain a positive environment in the dressing room. At Inter, his victories were the result of one factor and one factor only, Calciopoli. Serie A was decimated at the time he was coach and Inter were the only team in the whole debacle to benefit. If he hadn't won pretty much every season, it would have been nothing short of embarrassment given the opposition.

At Man City, he had a budget that every coach dreams of in a league where the competition were seriously struggling, for me 1 league title is actually quite disappointing. The competition was literally a struggling Chelsea side post Mourinho and a United side that was going downhill. Others, like Arsenal and Liverpool were a joke.

His performances in CL at both Inter and City were embarrassing, doing nothing of note to really suggest he's a coach of the highest level. He left City in 2013, after which he's not even been relevant in world football.

At Galatasaray he didn't last a year due to clashes about the transfer market (a running theme since his time at Inter) and his return to Inter was just shockingly bad, as he flopped with the team he wanted to build, to which he blamed everyone and their dog but himself.

Mancini's a terrible idea, a toxic character, a mediocre tactician and a has been whose whole managerial career is built on opportunism and the financial might of his employers.

Allegri: He's hugely criticised by Milan fans and some of that criticism is warranted. However, surely it's obvious that during his time in Milan the struggles of the club weren't really his fault. He was recognised for his coaching ability at Cagliari, his tactical acumen is widely regarded as one of the best in Italy and the world.

At Milan he won the league and super cup with a declining squad and got the team to put in respectable performances in CL, despite horrendous luck of constantly facing Guardiola's Barcelona.

At Juve, he took over from Conte (one of the best in the world) and has not only continued their impressive success in the league, but has arguably improved the side, while overseeing improved results in CL and bringing through a new generation of players at the club.

Love him or loathe him, Allegri is widely considered on the world's best coaches and it's pretty damn hard to dispute that. He's currently linked to possible vacancies at Barcelona and Arsenal and as I type this, his Juve side are beating Barca 2-0.

It was an absolute nightmare. It was either those 2 or nobody my friend. Both of them have given their contribution in recent times. It may have not been incredible, but you spend 7.5mil on a player from Turkey, this is the contribution you get. You spend 0 on Mati, this is the contribution you get. You can argue it one way or another, but boy am I glad that I get to see those 2 instead of Andrea fuking Poli. You make it seem as if he had a choice between Thiago Alcantara and Sosa, and he picked Sosa.
Also, neither one of those players is hindering Locatelli's development. The boy is developing just fine. He still get a shit ton of minutes in every game and is still a a very important player for this club. He is 18 and he needs to be handled the correct way, which is exactly what's going on now imo. He doesn't have to start every game and play for 90 minutes. He will have ups and downs and needs to be protected. This is exactly what Montella is doing while still playing him for a lot of minutes. We all know (including Locatelli and everyone in and around the club) that Locatelli is the future and not Sosa/Mati. Just because they are playing a bit more than him now doesn't change that fact nor does it hinder his development.

I am not even going to respond to Sampinjon because he won't even consider other people's thoughts on Montella. That post is so far away from reality and filled with all kinds of hatred towards Montella (for all sorts of reasons...it's like he took anything that happened this season and pinned it on Montella's back so he can slay him).....that it's better to just agree to disagree and move on.

100% I think Montella is doing the best job we could currently hope for and will be massively disappointed if he gets the sack. You need to give him 12 months with $$ and see what he can do with that before we make a decision to keep/sack him.

Edit: I've now read ACMILAN1983's post. and 100% on all three coaches... Despite my feelings about Allegri, no one in their right mind can argue his worth... And the way they're currently playing. I wouldn't be surprised if they win Champs this year

Unless there is another issue ....

Li arrives Wednesday morning, meets with Fininvest and money arrives. The official signatures will take place on Thursday morning at Ridella notary office and in the evening Berlusconi and the new people will have dinner at Arcore. On Friday morning, around 11:00, there will be the press conference for the presentation of new owners at Casa Milan.

There is some large amount of his fault. Let's not forget that all reports from former players suggests that poor team discipline ,locker room separations into clans etc started during his reign and went so bad that it affected some coaches after him. And it surely was one of the factors which leaded to Milan downfall. How did he let that happen ,was he incapable to resolving it ,or even uninterested...who knows ,but surely he is not all inocent.
