Cerci was never on the cards , 20m.I mean its just not going to happen nowadays.Rumour yesterday that we wanted to loan Cerci.I know each mercato fans think this is it , this will be the one we bounce back.But as long as Galliani is here (which will be as long as Berlu is) then expect these mercato's where we dont get close to spending 10m on all our signings.

How Banega is the alternative to Dzemaili I don't know, surely it makes much more sense Banega's the first option.

Personally, I'm satisfied with De Jong, Montolivo (who's tackling/defensive work is underrated) and Cristante. Don't see the need for Mbia.

Personally I think they're very generous. I'd overall say we're maybe at C- atm. Our sales have generally been poor if not pretty much disastrous, with only Constant seemingly being an adequate sale (even then 2.5m is pretty low).
As for incoming players, it's typical freebies and older players from Galliani. Alex wasn't ever my first choice even if he should offer some guarantees. However, it would have been MUCH more prudent to buy a young quick CB to partner Rami, especially knowing we've sold 3 of our most promising young defenders (Pacifico, Iotti and Simic) and other than Zapata, who looks likely to leave, we have zero pace at the back.
Menez is at best the alternative to what Taarabt offered last season and would be a good signing if he was the joker off the bench, but at this point he's a starter, which simply isn't enough. Our midfield and fullbacks haven't been improved at all, which is pretty terrible. Our fullbacks are ok if Abate can step up again this season after a very poor year (and to an extent DES too), but really we're looking at DES and Abate as starters and Bonera/Zaccardo and Albertazzi as backup. Essentially it's a big risk. In midfield, the only positive is youngsters like Cristante and Saponara are due to get space at this point. However, at this point we're one quality mezzala short of a good midfield (a lot will depend on whether Pippo can get De Jong and Montolivo working together).
In goal, Agazzi was a terrible signing, though Diego Lopez kind of makes up for it. However, he's contracted to us until he's 36 and earns a fair chunk of money. Surely it would have made sense to sign a guy like Ochoa (who is 29) on free and then in a year or two look to sign Perin as the long term.
We've failed to sell Balotelli too, which imo was necessary this summer to rebuild. Ultimately, I give a C- for this mercato mostly because we've got a few players who can immediately help make us slightly more competitive. However, the long term risks of these signings (especially Alex and Diego Lopez) do concern me and we may struggle longer term. Very little young talent has been added too, which is extremely disappointing.

Mexes/Bonera/Zapata for CB's
Abate/Bonera as fullback

Mastour/Honda/Niang/Menez/Pazzini for attack
I just realized, if we sign another attacker (whether Taarabt or Cerci etc.), we'll have a shit load of attacking options..

Why the heck is Banega our alternative to Dzemaili? It should definitely be the other way around.. Banega was compared to Redondo in his younger years, but a lot of articles and things I've heard of Banega say he has a bad attitude.. Don't know if we need another one of these, but I doubt Inzaghi will give any space for that kind of crap.

Agree. Banega has regressed (still a great player and one that I really like like Dev said) because of his attitude (more to do with private life than desturbing a team spirit).....but nonetheless, he is a much better player than Dzemaili. He's also got a lot more creativity which is what we need. I don't know why he is the alternative to Dzemaili. In any case, I don't believe that he is the alternative. If we are indeed interested, than whoever is cheaper will come. There is no alternatives.
I also don't understand how the two players are related. They are completely different with different qualities. I don't understand how one can be the alternative to the other. You would think that we are in search for a specific player. I guess the only specifics for Galliani are the numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if we buy a completely defensive minded CM just because he is 3mil or something.

Its Milan , the reason Banega is a Dzemaili alternative is because Dzemaili is easier to get , not much competition cheaper and they won't even try for Banega...yet say We got a gift a super gift a Dzemaili , who'll be on 2m a year and here until he's 33 but we'll be wanting rid of him by Jan.Banega though is close to Seville which people dont mention or ignore.
At best we'll get Taarabt or Dzemaili or both.
