Iran's World Cup goalie is available. Well, if we want low cost players then he is one option.

milannews says Armero to Milan is done

RE: Summer Mercato - Beppe - 08-08-2014

Fodder out, fodder in. Galliani on fire again! We'll never have good team again as long as that idiot runs this club.

RE: Summer Mercato - reza - 08-08-2014

Compared to Constant Armero is a Messi

RE: Summer Mercato - Jay Crisp - 08-08-2014

Liverpool are in for Diego Lopez now as a Reina replacement who moved to Bayern for £2m.
Perins too expensive
Valdes is average has huge wages.
Sassuolo want Amelia now as hes free.Agazzi will likely stay.
All mercato talk take what you want from it.

On other news, since Diego Lopez wants a 4m salary we're considering Valdes, Perin, and Romero. Perin is the only one I like. Valdes hasn't exactly recovered from his knee injury and even at his best he's pretty mediocre and error-prone. The same thing can be said of Romero. He was okay for Argentina at the last World Cup, but I've seen him committed several blunders in Sampdoria's shirt.

no he isnt, as he is not a left fullback, he's suited as a left wingback in a 3-5-2 formation we never play. He is terrible defensively.
Luckely he will only be here on loan!

Taarabt also looks very close to join, a QPR reject with a very bad attitude! Good job once again Galliani.

There are no defensively sound full backs available, even expensive ones are rare. The best - relatively speaking - you could find this summer was probably someone like Debuchy and his type was never coming to Milan, even to the old Milan. Thankfully we didn't waste time on the likes of Evra either.
I can understand not replacing Constant at all though.

RE: Summer Mercato - nefremo - 08-08-2014

Like I said a couple of days ago, I think Armero on loan is ok. He will start some games and be on the bench for others. Not a bad option, although not a world class one clearly. I was hoping that we don't spend any cash on him, and I'm glad that we are not going to.
Right now DES, Abate, Armero (assuming this will be official), Albertazzi is adequate for the fullback spots. Armero as a LB, Abate as a RB and DES can play on both sides. Albertazzi is the emergency/back up LB and can play as a CB too, and Bonera is the emergency RB and can play as a CB too. The numbers are good keeping in mind that we will only play in Serie A (38 games + whatever Copa games).

The CBs are set. I think we have a good mixture. It may not be world class all the way around, but it's good I think. We should try and offload Vila, Zaccardo + one of Zapata/Mexes. I would sell Zapata because he can actually bring in some cash. Rami, Alex, Mexes, Albertazzi, Bonera is not a bad CB department when on form. It's well covered with enough quality for Serie A. At this point, assuming that Armero comes in, the defensive line should be set for the new season and the only dealings that should happen is departures.

About Taarabt, I hope that we don't spend money on him. I liked the way he played here this past spring and I was hoping that we'd sign him at the end of the season. Instead, we went for Menez and now that's that. These players are almost identical to what they bring to the table although Menez has proven to be a bit better and more reliable throughout his career. No point of bringing Taarabt now unless we get rid of Niang, and I really hope we don't do this. The kid deserves another chance. He is 19 and has been great this summer. What we need to do is bring Pippo what he wants - a left footed RW. That way we will have SES for the LW, NEW PURCHASE for the RW, Niang that can play on both sides, and Menez that can play on both sides. Plus we have Mastour who SHOULD get minutes this year to grow. So we need one player there. Just get the one that Inzaghi wants (left footed RW) and forget about Taarabt. That ship should have sailed with the signing of Menez IMO.

After this, just buy a damn creative CM and we should be set for the new season. Rumors of Bonaventura have surfaced and that should be fine. I really like this player and I think he can explode if put in the correct setting. He's had multiple good seasons in a row now and has grown year after year.

Diego Lopez is a good link. I hope he comes, and with that I hope that Agazzi/Gabriel is gone. About his link to Liverpool, I don't see it as Mignolet is their starter. I think wherever he goes he wants to play. I'm not saying that he is not better than Mignolet, but at this point he would be going there as a back up with hopes to displace the starter who already has Rogers's trust. He may as well stay in Real than. I just don't see why he would go to Liverpool to essentially "replace" their back-up Reina. UNLESS Liverpool gives him the 4mil salary he is asking for.

So at this point, we need 2 players. one RW and one CM, assuming that Armero and Lopez are coming. Just spend the damn money.

The problem is getting rid of more players. We have gotten rid of a lot, but I still think players like Gabriel/Agazzi (1 of), Zaccardo, Vila, Essien, Poli/Saponara (1 of) need to leave. That's a lot of work to be done, especially finding these players clubs that they are willing to go to. I'm not sure that Galliani will do it or is even willing to do that.

If he does the above things however, I think surprisingly it will turn out to be a great summer for us.

RE: Summer Mercato - Arildonardo - 08-08-2014

Rumours of a swap deal between us and Juve. Zapata for Giovinco.
