As much as I love Kaka, I don't think he has a place in Milan. Since he can no longer play as a CM. Will be happy if he comes back though as he is a great talent.

Kaka had declined significantly comparing to the glorious 2007 season.
He is still very professional and hard working, but I am confident he will not push Milan to CL trophy heights.

We need to focus on younger players.

You know, right now, our midfield roster is the following:

Gattuso/Flamini, Ambrosini/Van Bommel, Pirlo, Seedorf, Boateng, Merkel, Emmanuelson
We can add Strasser even if since his injury, he hasn't played one single minute.

By coming, Kaka' wouldn't be a sure starter but IMO, a direct replacement for a player like Seedorf for example (of course, he would need to make some big efforts, but if he wants to come back in our team, it's what he'll have to do, and anyway, he can't be worse than Seedorf nowadays).

I expect one of the "oldies" to leave (Gattuso, Ambro or Pirlo), I would personnally choose Gattuso who runs a lot but not with the ball, he's often late when trying to stop an opponent, forcing him to run on the other opponent, etc ... That will let one place for another midfielder, a younger one, and potentially, a more attacking one as Boateng can play as an AM and CM (he proved it in Milan).

So except Gattuso and Seedorf, I would keep the others one more year, which would allow us to make another slow transition toward a new midfield.

Elano isn't a WC player, but he is for sure a hard worker and a very good midfielder overall (who can play in various positions). I would welcome him in Milan.

About Ganso, it seems the new contract will include a decreased option to leave ... That means that by signing this new contract, Ganso will make it easier for the European clubs to buy him.

Weird choice by Santos.

He can't replace Seedorf, because Seedorf was a "ball holder".
Kaka can't play in that role. Most importantly Kaka will cost a lot either in transfer fee or in salary.

We can get a younger better replacement for Seedorf for less cash.

Lets move one...lets leave the past behind...even more lets get the past out of Milan(Seedorf,Gattuso,AMbro,PIppo) i love and respect them for everything that they have given us...but its time to move on,and finish the rebuilding we started this year.

Tiago,Abate,Van Bommel,Boateng,Merkel,Flamini,Pato,Binho,Cassano,Ibra is a really great backbone. Lets add up the heart and the muscle an we have a champion in hand.

Man, you are right.
Still, i sincerely dread the moment Rino will walk out the door.
I m gonna hate to see him go.

I just hope he retires from football and have him following in every home and away game with the team...

He cant play much longer for us but i really love this guy.
I was reading a Roma fans forum this morning and some guys that watched the game vs Napoli were saying they would be the happiest fans if just a single Roma player would show the same passion, determination and sacrifice Rino displays for us throughout these years.
That made me smile....

Elano would add depth to our squad and his versatility makes him useful in a number of positions. As a replacement for Seedorf, he would be a good signing for me.

gatusso is a club icon and has yet to disappoint me. I would never want to see his contract unextended. Rather sell him to a SPL team and give him a proper exit. It was his wish to end in Scotland.
