apparently Seedorf was offered a renewal by Galliani but he hasn't accepted because he wants to see what role will he play next year with Allegri.. Botafogo's president also had a long meeting with Clarence (4 hours, so that couldn't just be a rumor).

Fabregas rumors makes me jizz. He's been my #1 Pirlo-replacement for 3-4 years! He's perfect but I only wonder if wants to join us instead of Barca.

Anyone know what the new wages are of the new players?

I read a rumor saying MvB - 3m, Silva - 4m, Roma 0.5m

Silva's 4.5. Thats what i read in yesterday's GDS. i dont think Van Bommel's that high. Ca talked about 1.6 m euros for him. i think his wage is closer to it than 3 m euros.

------Gattuso----------Van Bommel----------Hamsik--------
-------------------Lamela/Boateng----------------------------

2 new signing in Hamsik and Lamela.

--------Guarin------Van Bommel----Hamsik-----
-------------------Boateng/Lamela----------------

3 new signing and maximum for me.

-------------Gattuso-------Van Bommel-----Hernanes/Sissoko---
---------------------------Ganso/Boateng---------------------------

2 new signing.

Flamini+Cash=Sandro
30 M euros incl. players swap=Hamsik (from Berlu)
Guarin or Nainngolan or Moussa Sissoko
Erik Lamela

Then we are set.

That team wouldn't win CL ... I don't know, there is something disturbing me into this one, but I'm unable to say what/who.

Maybe the fact that only 3 of these players have won a CL in their career.
Maybe the fact that I'm not convinced Taiwo is good enough.

About Fabregas, why does nobody say he is a small game player and disappears in big games, especially in CL (like what people said with Ibra when he arrived and during the season) ?

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-19-2011

Fabregas i wish, i'd be the happiest person alive if he ever came but im not going to get excited because we need midfielders and a CAM fabregas wil cost near 50mln..
according to this source he's our top summer target. we can probably strike a deal for 40mln.

I never heard that Ashley Cole was free agent, so I doubt he is. I doubt Chelsea is that dumb to let him leave. How old is he anyway?

For the record, I think he is WC, but I don't want him at Milan.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Best-Pundit - 05-19-2011

Better option would be to sign Yuri Zirkov than Ashley Cole

BIG and OFF TOPIC:

So Gabriel...

You down play Pele by saying he played at the best team of his time. Ok... What I can´t understand, is the fact that at the same time you didn´t mentioned that Messi only shyne at this Barça, a team that for several pundits(and fans) around the World, is the best Barça of all time. Why the double standard, Gabriel?

Plus, unlike Pele(that won a WC at 16yo being a BIG factor), everyone is still waiting for Messi explosion at Argentine NT(To be fair, Maradona also disappointed at Spain 82). Besides, I´m not only talking about World Cup... Messi still can´t be the same of Barcelona at Argentine NT meaningless games.

And before you talk about playing for the great Brazil... Until Pele, Brazil wasn´t a factor at international level. It´s history, not my words. To make my point even more clear, before him(Pele) we´ve never won a World Cup!!!! To make the situation even more interesting, before our first title with Pele(1958), we lost to Uruguai at home in 1950. With more than 200.000 people at Maracanã... One more thing, after his retirement, Brazil take until 1994 to win a World Cup again.

You also talked about play for to play and easy football... just imagine if Messi received the treatment Pele received at 1966 World Cup in England. Portugal players fouled him out of the game... game not, out of the world Cup. And no one received even a card. Watch the film(Pele Eterno) Gabriel, and see the segment of the way teams literally HUNTED Pele on the field. You will be amazed... and even more because no player were sent off. I changed a lot of my beliefs after that film. Just a sugestion...

Today, if you look angry at any Barça palyer, it´s a sure yellow. Busquet cheat all the time, call Marcelo Mono(monkey) and nothing happens. I would love to see what punishment a player would receive for fouling Mesi out of the game the way Pele was fouled back in time.

Plus, go to a museum and take a look at the type of ball Pele(and others) played 90% of their career. I had a chance to play with one for fun, and I would love to see people saying it was easy back them to play with that heavy peace of trash. Even more when wet... And the quality of the pitches back in time? Terrible...

Messi is young, has all the time on his side, but still has a lot to do to dethrone Maradona as the best Argentine player ever. Pele is right and have the right to express his opinion. Why this angry towards Pele, my friend? Now, if you talk about his games predictionsDevilol

Btw, unlike several people I see at internet, I watched Maradona playing at Napoli and Argentine NT so, I´m very confortable to compare him with Messi...

Brasilerio, you know I respect you, and I am just replying your post.

Prior to Brazil winning the World Cup, there were only 5 World Cups with 3 winners, 2 of which went to Uruguay, a team that you stated beat Brazil at home, but failed to mention also being one of the best teams in the world at that time. And didn't Brazil came 2nd in the 1950s WC and also came 3rd in the 1938 WC. SO to say that Brazil was not a strong side back then is an understatement.

Pele scored 5 goals in his first WC, 1958, and helped Brazil won that year. There is no doubt about that as it is fact. But 5 goals might win you the Golden Boot in 2010 WC, it is actually less than half of the goals scored by the Golden Boot winner in 1958. Fontaine got 13 goals that year. What I am trying to say is that, defense was not part of the game during that era. IT is really not until 1974 where the whole world began to think, maybe defense can win you games just like West Germany did against Holland.

Then in 1962, the offense were there but it lacks a true Golden booter. While Brazil also won that year, Pele was not a factor as he was injured for most of the tournament. I am pretty sure Pele and Brazil would have still win the WC that year, but Brazil showed the world that they could win without Pele.

In 1966, Pele got injured and Brazil got knocked out. But Pele and Brazil won in 1970 again, while the Brazilian Squad in the 70 WC is known to be the strongest WC squad ever.

Point is that Brazil is the strongest team in all of football in two of the four WCs Pele played in, while the 1958 squad ain't that bad either. I am not saying Pele was not a factor during those WCs, certainly he is a huge factor but people often failed to give credits to the Brazilian teams in general.

It is true that Brazil did not fare too well during the 70s, but I think that has more to do with Curiff and Beck both being the stars in that era. Then in the 80s, the when the world began to park the bus outside their box, the attacking flair of Brazil just could not adjust to that, as teams are more acustoms to the counter attack plan. Having said all that, Brazil was always among the fav. to win the WC, as having midfielders of ZIto and Socartes will do that to your team. The 94 winning squad, to me was the first year that Brazil actually got a true DM in Dunga, a strong back line and a good keeper. IF there is anything, I actually thought the 98 team is too strong for anyone, yet they lost to France in the final but won again in 02. No need to mention 06 and 10, as Brazil just did not play of coach like a Brazil team, esp in 10.

On tactics, I admit that Pele got fouled after fouled back then. But mainly due to the level of footballers in that era. As they are professional players with a side job during the off season. Since the money ain't that good compare to now. The level of competitions were not as high as now, not to mention the conditions of these players.
Then you have the unknown factors, as these players tend to stay and play pro ball in their own country. At the very least, you rarely see players from South America playing in Europe. Which is the not case now.
The technology is another difference maker between then and now, in terms of conditioning of the players to scouting of individuals.

As someone said before, Pele was the best player in his era and Messi is the best player now. Would Pele succeed in today's world, probably, but can he reaches the height he has, maybe. Same can be said about Messi. But to say that Messi does not get fouls or always get off easy is an overstatement. WHat I see is that defenders want to foul Messi, but he is either to quick or he can maintain his balance too well to just dribble away. Something that I had not seen since Ronaldo at his Barcelona days.

The Maradona thing from Pele is a bit much. Messi is only 23 or 24, who is already head and shoulder above everyone else and that includes CR7. Also winning countless trophies at individual and club levels. To say that he is not as great as Pele or Maradona b/c he has not lift Argentina to a WC is a bit much. As it is like saying Cannavaro, Cafu, Sammer, and Pugol are better defenders than Maldini, since those 4 captained and led their sides to WC victory, while Maldini never won one despite being captain for 2 or 3 IT teams and played on 4 WC teams.

Now I am not saying we all should disregard WC success, but you can't just use you never won a WC as a way to play down a player. As to me, Maldini is the greatest defender of all time, and I doubt anyone would disagree with me. Even if there is someone who disagree, they will agree my reasons as to why he is the greatest.

---------Nesta----T.Silva----------
Abate---------------------Coentrao
-----------Van Bommel-------------

---------------Ganso----------------
--------Pato---------Ibrahimovic---

Subs: Robinho, Cassano, Inzaghi, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Merkel, Strasser, Urby, Zambro, Yepes, Mexes, Oddo, Antonini
