Just a quick question: is it possible that you may be confusing him with Marc Martens (the Dutch trio part)?
P.S. For the record, I personally am not sure who those staff members are. I somehow don't remember Jean Pierre Meersseman was associated with Milan dating back that long?

Nope. Dr Martens did operate Gullit's knee and later on Basten's ankle but specifically on the latter case there was a whole media circus to it. He exchanged accusations through media with Dr Rene Marti (who operated the ankle before), each one claiming the other's operation not only was wrong but also unnecessary.
And somewhere between this ruckus Milan also seek for second opinion from several doctors like Barcelona club doctor (suggested by Cruyff, Basten's mentor) and Meersseman. At least that's what I read.

Taiwo was not given proper time to adapt and I am really sorry for him. He might not have been Milan quality, but he want given a real chance. And honestly, its not like was terrible in the first place, at least when you take in consideration that all others occupying the left flank. I guess 2.5 mil per year was to much to handle.
I wish him good luck..
@Jay really what a step down in just 6 months, form champions of France to the Champions of Italy to the relegating side in Premier league.

A lot of players in France don't care about the club where they can go in England as long as it is in England (meaning: no matter the English club, a lot of these players rate it higher than their former French club) ... It's weird, but it's the way it is. Of course, compared to Milan, it's another story ...

He has started a couple of games for Milan, and if you ask me defense-wise he was worse than Antonini every time. It's not about him developing in the team. He is the type of player that CANT do good in a Serie A defense.
Defensive players in Serie A need intelligence as the primary characteristic. Taiwo only had physic and speed.

Taiwo was bad defensively , positioning terrible and for all the talk about his athleticism and physique his so called great crossing.It was all terrible in 8 games you say he got no chance but , not once did he do anything(ANYTHING) that made anyone think there's potential here.They have done it before , Blomqvist Anderson...take for little to nothing and sell on to England...he isn't and never will be even good...all power and pace supposedly not that we saw anything.
But on the flip side it isn't like Mesbah ( 27 yr's old 9 caps for Algeria no where near a regular call up) or Nini or Zambro who is good once every 2 months will be a steady player.
We now miss - deep breath- Boateng , Pato , Aquilani , Yepes , Flamini , Gatusso bla bla bla..it always happens when we face an English side and have to go to the well..and then those pricks say well same Milan living on past glory an aging team ..what any pundit on ITV , BBC , Sky Sports knows about football you could write on the back of a stamp.
