18mil will be a good offer for Maicon, as they can play Santon as RB and leave Nagatomo in LB. I think Eto might go to ManCity in exchange for Tevez, which is a good deal for both clubs.

I don't mind. They can go back to another 20-year non-winning streak as far as I care. Sagrin

I hope they sell Eto. And go down to seria b. The moment they lose julio at goalie and lose sneijder they are a 3rd place team at best.

Now you are just being irrational.
How can you claim Inter are stupid?
Oh, you mean like the time they gave us Pirlo and Seedorf and we gave them Francesco Coco, Guli and Umit Davala? Sagrin

Those were the days!

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 05-14-2011

well my point was if u use honda in a 3 man midfield w/ a pure destroyer and someline like boateng or flamini or ambrosini. You're hardly defensively exposed. He can do his job. Obviously not like DMs but you don't need him to in this scenerio

btw, he was motm v. palermo in europa league:
He scored CSKA's first and assisted the third

On the second leg in PAlermo, he assisted second goal

keep in mind, he was lined up as a CM in a 4-4-2 in both matches. He could easily hang in a 3 man cm

According to espn he is 182cm

Plus, i don't think that you can easily blame Honda for being the type of player that likes to neglect his defending duties.
Maybe not the definition of a workhorse but not a tourist either.

The first rule in Italian football is that if you play (2) CM, one is creative and attacking, and one is defensive and more physical. Therefore your theory of playing Ganso & Hernanes in Central Midfield absolutely 100% will NOT happen.

Secondly, no need to be scared about Robinho leaving, he's not going anywhere. Who told you he was being sold?

--------------------------------------------

In regards to overall discussion, we certainly have to cut the squad size down. Personally 35 ----> 25 Players seems a bit drastic. Perhaps 28 Players is a perfect squad size.

Next, we cannot really discuss who we will get UNTIL we know who we will release. If we get rid of Pirlo & Seedorf which is highly likely IMO, then we will need at least 1 creative type midfielder along with a true ACM (Lamela/Ganso).
Van Bommel will start at CDM with Ambro to replace him. I think that's what Allegri wants and will do.

You obviously didn't read my post thouroughly did you.. I said ganso at CAM not CM, hernanes at CM is what i said.. and i didn't say anyone told me robinho was being sold i said i was worried he would be sold because of all these players we've been linked with, i said him or cassano might. Allegri wants a midfielder who makes runs into the box. how wouldnt two attack minded midfielders work? Pirlo is not defensive but creative, so is hernanes so maybe my theory will work . and how could it be 100% not to happen ganso&hhernanes we don't know this. Midfield isn't about defending but more creating and keeping possesion, if a midfield is great at keeping possession i dont see a reason why they could be mediocre defensively.

Outgoing
Based on player perfomances this season i think the following squad members should leave this summer:

Sokratis, no explanation needed
Oddo, he's contributed in some games but his (most of all) his age makes him redundant
Legrottaglie (is that how you spell it?), a stop-gap measure for the second half of the season
Jankulovski, no explanation needed
Bonera, no explanation needed
Gattuso, both he and Ambrosini are getting old and if I have to choose I'd keep the latter
Pirlo, has not been his former self and even though he' one of my favourite players I wouldn't let him stay (certainly not with his high wages!)
van Bommel, he's played several good games, but needs to make place for someone younger (like Strasser)

Most of the players mentioned becomes free agents this summer, so it shouldn't be too hard letting them go.

Incoming

Mexés and Taiwo are confirmed transfers, making any further defensive additions unnecessary.

The primary aim during this mercato should be signing a top-class attacking midfielder (Ganso, Lamela?). I feel Erik Lamela is too young and inexperienced. But why not Diego from Wolfsburg? Wink

van Bommel He should not go. 2 year contract for sure!

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Nalx - 05-15-2011

Yeah, Van Bommel should stay IMO.

Diego? I used to be a big fan of him during his Bremen days but he certainly struggled during his one year stint with Juve. And while I don't follow Bundesliga much this season, he doesn't exactly set the league alight either.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gio-mania - 05-15-2011

Giving van Bommel a 2 year contract is just looking for trouble. I agree that we should renew him for another season, but two years just means we have to hold on to him for one more year when we aren't sure whether or not he will be deadweight draining our economic resources. The senators we decide to renew should only get 1 year contracts.
