RE: Summer mercato 2015 - Ryo - 07-17-2015 At this moment, I think it's all a battle of rumors. Roma, wanting us to up the bid, leaked the rumor that Arsenal have joined the fray. This pissed off Galliani, who openly came out and stated that 25M was the last offer and non-negotiable. Then we have this coming out, telling Roma that we have a deal in place for another defender, trying to force them to accede to the 25M or lower. As of now I think we have more pulling power. Their other players aren't generating interest on the market and they desperately need a striker. Their target of Dzeko should cost less than what their asking for Romagnoli, so they're just trying to highball us into providing them with some added funds (i.e. being friggin greedy). Galliani won't play their games, and after this, I'm actually feeling more confident in our push for the player. We still need a second CB for the long term though. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - slifersd - 07-17-2015 If you read these rumors, sounds like we already committed like 80M on spending next summer on Imbula (50M release clause with Porto) and 30M for this guy. Man, if Berlu decides to not bank roll us next season, Barbara is going to have to start pimping herself to raise cash for the team, lol. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - xudong - 07-17-2015 I am annoyed with Roma's keeping raising the price for Romagnoli. I like what Galliani is doing, even though I think the price is still too high, but what's important is the coach likes him and seems to have a plan around him. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - xudong - 07-17-2015 Just saw this: :d Quote:Mihajlovic when asked about Romagnoli: "I adore strawberries but they should not cost as much as oysters" RE: Summer mercato 2015 - somedevil - 07-17-2015 Apparently Napoli made a 28m offer for Romagnoli but Roma wants 30. This seems very unbelievable. Roma are just fabricating rumors now. I wouldnt worry about Berlu spending. The only reason we're spending in the first place is because of Bee.The money is coming from Fininvest until Bee's deal is 100% finalised , without Bee we'd still have Muntari Bonera & prob be going all in for free players. Roma have asked for €30 million all the time. I don't think they've raised the price, they're just not willing to negotiate the price they first set. I can understand them, they have a player that we really want and that they probably don't have to sell. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 07-17-2015 (07-16-2015, 05:58 PM)nefremo Wrote: Well nothing has come out saying that this was rejected yet.....so maybe it's happening. Galliani flat out said that our offer is 25 mil and we will see if Roma will accept. No word on rejection yet. Until now, the rejections have been coming very quickly. As I've said before, I don't know if Tonelli's the right guy for us, though I'm not against his move. I'm amazed his name isn't mentioned more often. He's a good player, or at least he was last season in a disciplined system. That said, a part of me wants to actually see Alex tested this summer. I know he's not popular amongst fans following the last year, but we also know that for years prior to last season he was generally playing to a very high level. His preseason performances so far haven't been bad and he's one of the players in the squad most likely to struggle with the intensity right now given he's a big guy and physically this sort of training will impact bigger athletes more. I also think last season comes down to him having physical issues throughout the year and playing in an extraordinarily disorganised side. I'm not saying he's definitely the answer to the requirements, but certainly if we get Romagnoli, I think Alex returning back to his normal levels is as good a partner as we can expect beside him. I also think it's worth saying that the defenders in our squad aren't bad players, but they don't seem to be performing in Milan for whatever reason. Alex, when playing to expectations is a very good defender. Zapata, during his first half season with the club and for Colombia, is a decent defender, certainly enough as a backup. Paletta is a solid CB, again a good backup. Mexes imo is actually below all three of them, because while he can outperform all of them on his day, his inconsistency and temperament make his just too unreliable. I think this should be a point of interest at the club, why is it these players don't perform to their expected levels? RE: Summer mercato 2015 - somedevil - 07-17-2015 Zapata was actually pretty good in his Udinese days and when he signed for Milan i was actually excited. The only reason I am not sure about ALex is coz of his injuries but I somehow feel confident that with Mihajlovic, Palletta will excel. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - WCmilan - 07-17-2015 Mihajlovic is our best signing IMO. Regardless of whether we finish putting together a complete team of superstars, he will make the biggest difference.. Other than Ibra. 30m is too much for Romagnoli, I wouldn't even pay 25. 15 max, he's no Laporte from what I've seen I'm sorry. He'll probably end out a Bonucci level defender, which is worth 15m in his prime. I don't see him being the next Nesta,Silva, or any of the likes tbh. It is early, but idk, I have a thing with Italian players in this generation. Apart from Verratti, our national team is not producing anywhere near what they used to. Everyone flops.. Immobile,Borini,Destro,Balotelli, we are almost becoming like England and their players, where they are all hyped, overpaid for in EPL and then flop. Being Italian, I worry about our NT tbh, now that Pirlo and Buffon are close to the end, and players like Chiellini,Marchisio,De Rossi are not getting any younger. |
