There have been several, probably 10+, match press conferences where Allegri has said one or both of Leao and Pulisic are not fit. If the issue is this prolonged they should be out, not starting or used or unused subs either to recover properly. A team like Milan should have the bodies to deal with it. Especially with the one of the lightest schedules in memory. RE: Winter Mercato - 2026 - reza - 04-08-2026 Percentage of minutes played by U21 players, last five years: [attachment=361] This is truly something. RE: Winter Mercato - 2026 - nefremo - 04-09-2026 Our revenue should be approaching (or likely even breaking) 500m (with CL next year). There is simply no excuse not to invest in the market. That kind of revenue puts us near the rop 10, at most 15 in the world. I just don't buy this shit that we can't compete on the market anymore. You can't tell me that Milan, with that kind of money coming in, can't go and invest 60/70m on a striker. They have contributed with close to nothing. So even then we probably should have prioritized a world class striker instead of expensive backups. It's not that we didn't have the money... It's partly because of year zeroes that we keep needing bodies to fill the squad. We are already seeing reports that none of Pulisic, Leao, Nkunku, Fullkrug are unsellable. Imagine reaching August needing three, four or five CFs and wingers. The correct thing to do is to set aside the concept of 'deadwood' and 'flop' for at least a couple of seasons and spend big on one CF and fix RB/LB but sell no one (except Estupinan I guess). It is weird that we have paid big money just for the backups (De Winter is an exception but he took a lot of time to adapt), while the backbone of Modric & Rabiot cost peanuts. Milan is better at stealing than buying
RE: Winter Mercato - 2026 - nefremo - 04-10-2026 Exactly. We actually have some substance to build on. This squad is good. It's missing quality in certain areas a as, so let's add that. It's not missing depth for sure. So let's stop wasting 20m here, 18m there. But add real quality. Let's not restart, aka year zero, every summer. It's insane. It's ridiculous. And while it's can somewhat understand last summer's turnover since we finished 8th....things are different this time around. This is a squad that will (likely) finish in 2nd or 3rd spot. That's something to build on. So build on it. Don't buy 8 players. Buy 2 or 3. And that's it. But make them quality players. Now it looks like we need to start from scratch again. Start at explaining what a ball is... RE: Winter Mercato - 2026 - Aficio - 04-12-2026 We still have the same weaknesses and strengths: - No solid pair of CBs. Kjaer is our best CB since the age of Silva & Nesta. Tomori & Kalulu can play well in only one season. - No good enough forward, lone or in pair. Giroud is our best forward since Pato. - No solid pair of side backs. Saelemaekers & Bartesaghi are good at wing backs, making 3 CBs & 2 WBs is our best choice for the defense. + The most stable position is GK: from Donnarumma to Maignan. + The CM department is second best. ? The wingers are ups and downs. It's weird. No change. |
