RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gio-mania - 05-11-2011 I don't understand why some people here are suggesting we sell Pato and get Neymar instead. I agree that Pato has disappointed at times. Sure Neymar has loads of talent, maybe more than Pato, but he really hasn't showed us that his mental and tactical game is any better than Pato's. Really there is no guarantee that Neymar will solve any of our problems. Then we should consider that while Pato has put in several frustrating performances, he still tops our goal-per-minute table. What really concerns me though is that he doesn't seem like the same kid we saw join Milan a few years back. At the time he seemed much more determined and aggressive. Now we see this much less and we are all noticing what he lacks in terms of tactical intelligence. Let's not forget he is still 21 though. Apart from Messi, who is on a level of his own, there aren't any players at that age who's performances are much better than Pato's. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-11-2011 Neymar doesn't have more talent then pato. when we wanted pato we made the same buzz about him, hes so young 21 years old he has until at minimum 25 to accelerate.. people fail to understand he's a striker.. if he doesnt play good it means generally whoevers supposed to be giving him the ball isnt either. any chance you give pato near the box he will be dangerous, pato with the ball inside the box is a guarenteed finish, clubs wish they could have a striker like him , once you do all you need is a good cam and your set RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gio-mania - 05-11-2011 Considering Abate is turning 25 this fall, we can agree that Pato has all the time in the world to reach his potential. Anyway I agree that with a midfield that throws more balls in the box he will perform better. So when we finally get a worthy trequartista we will see some epic play (not just from the duck but from the team as a whole) RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-11-2011 Exactly, good point Gio. It's funny how when we did have the best trequartista around (Kaka) we didnt have the strike force, this year we had the strikeforce but no trequartista (real trequartista not robinho(L/R f) or boateng) so next year will have both, let's see what happens Regarding Pato, i'm absolutely not concerned with him one bit. With the talent he has he just needs one fluent season for his confidence and for everyone to see what hes really capable of , it will come
RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ElMago99 - 05-12-2011 In the next 3-4 years, if Pato is playing with Ibrahimovic, Robinho, Cassano, Ganso/Lamela/Pastore/Hernanes, Poli, Boateng Taiwo, Abate, he will have at least 1 if not more seasons of 30+ Goals, assuming he's healthy. I'm not worried about him. I am only worried that we can buy an ACM that fits our system and is World Class. I also want another Midfielder and our team is SET! RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-12-2011 Yeah, we should really invest in midfield, even depth. midfield and defence is 3/4 of the game, attackers are 1/4, they also do fit in with the other 3/4 in playmaking, sort of how ibra did he would track back to make the pass sometimes, or pato adds pressure to the opposition lately by tracking back with his pace and even with out getting the ball his pace definitely puts opponents under pressure, i still think he should track back more though, he needs to learn how to hold onto the ball when he cant get by his man, if his attempt to cross a defender doesn't work most the time he loses the ball, where as ibra will hold onto it.. pato needs that + better decision making + extra bit more of confidence.. CL is a great way for players to excel so hopefully Pato is one of our first choice attackers next season in CL. Btw, who's Witsel, according to www.milannews.it were interested in him we need a trequartista who can change matches on his own even in CL, like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so5Pu9e9OkU RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 05-12-2011 We're linked to Aquilani. He's really not a bad option. His only problem is injuries, but he seems over it. Jube is run by morons, he's played in a 2 man CM, which is a waste for him, but here's an interesting note: http://www.corrieredellosport.it/live/SerieA/statistiche/giocatori/contrasti.shtml Top 20 in tackles won, tied with javier zanetti, and he's played less games than a lot of the players. Most tackles won among 'creative players' He's taylor made for allegri's side mid in a 3 man too, cause he likes to get forward. He's been too trapped in 2 man CMs w/ jube and liverpool. If you remember with Roma he did a lot more RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 05-12-2011 I would not take a gamble on Aquliani as he is like injury prone. For 20 mil, I would not bet on him as this past year could be a fluke year or a year where he is strong enough not to get injury. Like I said, for 20Mil, I would rather bet on a sure thing like Hernanes or Sandro or Honda. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-12-2011 Hernanes or Sandro imo, I wouldn't really want honda as our CM, maybe a upper role Hernanes above all RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 05-12-2011 (05-11-2011, 08:23 PM)Hitman Wrote:(05-11-2011, 11:38 AM)Siregar Wrote: No, we can't. dude, stupid say from you. no head of people made of brick. you watched fantasy films too much. you should go outside your house to meet more people. ![]() Quote:and actually Robinho has been one of the most consistent strikers in Serie A, he has hardly ever had a bad game... he only misses many easy chances but he adds so much to the team play... despite him being weak, he always distributes the play properly, holds the ball when, makes the team tick..... Pato on the other hand, when he isn't playing well (80% of the season) he is not even in the game, every pass he gets, he wastes it by a stupid pass, or tries to dribble and loses it........ this Pato is not the same Pato from 3 years ago.... this pato is not good enough for Milan. you overrate robinho. there are games when he didn't know what to do on the field. palermo's game is one of the games. robinho's task and pato is different. robinho is not the main striker, pato is. why don't we compare how seedorf hold ball, build the play then? you should compare performance of player according to the accomplishment of their tasks from allegri. lol, look it that again. 80% from game and robinho hardly 1 game? so overrating robihno and undervaluing pato so much. this is really very biased opinion. pato has more bad games than robinho i agree but not something like you said, so far from the reality. Quote:and about other 21 year old consistent strikers in the world? you see, I don't think you understand what the word consistent means, anyway this is not an english class so look it up... players that are MORE consistent than Pato at his age and perform at a good level: you should prove your self first you know the words you use. it seems you are so often in a class room telling other people don't understand english. next't time you post, maybe you will ask people how good their toefl, ielts etc. are. ![]() Quote:Messi, Cristiano (when they were at his age), G.Rossi, Hulk, Chicharito, Pastore (not a striker though), Neymar (much better than Pato if you actually took time to watch a full game of him, and he's only 18).... you see that's just off the top of my head, but the thing is - NONE of these players were bought for 20m at 18 years old... I really liked Pato in his first two years at Milan, but now he is so frustrating because he is hardly in form... when he plays good he truly is a joy and can easily be one of the best, but we can't wait forever for this kid to mature up and find consistency... CR7 (was just not as good as pato when he came to ManU. He took more than 2 years to be able to show how good he is) and messi probably yes but rossi, hulk, chcarito, pastore, neymar? lol you said hulk? soo many games in mind only from this season huh? your analyse is so crappy. you should compare players with regard of consistency that's true, BUTit should be based on important reqirements: 1. position of the players. ok, similar positions are still acceptable but you can't compare striker with goal keeper. just like a striker with a CM like pastore. i don't say pastore is consistent though. 2. the quality of their performance. otherwise you can find consistent players from unknown league. consistent in specified standard quality, that's the key. rossi, hulk are not pato level. we haven't talked about their track records. you probably eat so much words from media without looking back of his past records. just two seasons before this season (2008/09-2009/10) he couldn't deliver performances he showed this season. So big gap from those two season with this season. same with rossi. you can compare pato when he is 19-20 years old with rossi. very different quality existed between the two young players. yes, rossi is consistent the next years but consistent in average performance. 3. Where the players play aka the level (the quality) of the competition. You can't compare brasil with serie A. Pato is proven in Serie A, neymar is big question. 4. not only performances from this season. so many players have one season wonder. a more comprehensive data should be used. take example chicharito and hulk for example. they played well this season but how about last year? years before today? 5. other influenced thing like injury, age, etc. problem with pato is his injury. so many injuries he got. we haven't seen him get one season without injury or at least not so many injuries just in one season. the injury also stopped him to progress. we haven't seen how he got injury when he was playing well. and last, we should not forget his age. he is 21 years old. no young striker in this word today has goal record like him. |
