RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jim_UK - 05-10-2011

Even if we have used our non-eu spot with Taiwo there are still plenty of players we can get (Robben, Affelay, Lukaku, etc). Not to mention all the talents in Italy that we could purchase (Sanchez, Di Natale, Hernanes, etc).

Nobody interesting in France ...

Even Gourcuff, the best prospect for that position in France has declined.

So in France, there is no more player, except maybe Nené in Paris (but he's not French ahah), who showed some great things before joining Paris, and he has added some regularity this season. He is the reason why Paris has done a good season so far (and actually, Nené, during one month, just stopped playing well and Paris was unable to win games during that time, and once he started to produce some good football again, Paris started to win again). The problem is he is already 29 (30 this summer). So he is no more a "prospect".

Of course, about French players, a guy like Nasri could be interesting as he has improved in Arsenal, the problem is the guy has been turned into a side attacking midfielder (he plays on the right or the left with one striker in front of him, never in the center with two strikers in front of him as we want in Milan).

So, nothing really exciting for that position here (Mvila comes to my mind but he is a CM, so it doesn't answer to your question Big Grin) ...

Maybe we can take advantage of the situation (Ganso injured) and as for a discount hehe=D

BTW how do u get the smiles?

About Ganso, it looks like we're going to give him up because of his new injury. It seems he'll be out for 3 months this time, and that is too much to invest 30+M, that means the guy will have been out for almost 12 months (when he'll come back) ...

ANother great talent killed by injuries ? Sad

But doesn't Messi usually fail with his NT and offers bad/average performances for Argentine despite being one of the best, if not the best, player in the world ? Same can also be said for Cristiano Ronaldo ...

IMO, games with the NT aren't that important, of course, they can give confidence to a player, of course they can show how solid mentally a player is, but they aren't a way to rate players as with NT, you play one game once a while, and you aren't used to your partners, which can be a problem. If the guys around you don't play well or your coach doesn't know you well enough to use you in your best position, there aren't many things you can do ... It's why I don't really use NT games to rate players. And I think players from clubs like Palermo or Napoli have a lot of pressure, almost as much as in the biggest Italian clubs because their fans are quite "hot" ...
You missed my point, Geo...

Messi and Cristano didn´t produce at NT, but you forgot that they already play for a BIG team, unlike Pastore. If Pastore was playing bad at Argentine but tearing up at Bayern Munich, I would be more relaxed of to pay huge money for him. But until today he´s playing( a few) great games at Palermo. You can´t compare his case with Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi...

Regarding the second bold part, can´t agree. It´s a totaly different world. In my opinion the type of pressure can´t be compared. It happened a lot in Brazil and I believe that around the world too. The amount of great prospects that explode here at middle/small clubs playing amazing football and when are purchased by big teams like São Paulo, Santos, Corinthians fail to show the same level, is huge!

Maybe is because I don´t rate Pastore as most here, but names like Suazo, Perea, Gila came to my mind...

So why are we to believe Ganso is a better bet at the same price? Pastore accomplished more in argentine clausura than Ganso did in league. He had a midling Hurcan team 1 point off the title as a 19 year old.

Not shining with Argentina is subjective too. He's shined more than Ganso who has barely played for Brazil and really only in friendlies v. usa etc. PAstore has really only been used as a sub because depth of argentina's attack is best in world (the rest of team... no, but attack yeT).

Eitherway he's lead Palermo, both good and bad. When he was good they were top 4, when off, they fell. His numbers speak for themselves, his play speaks for itself.

I wouldn't pay HUGE zamperini money for Pastore, buuut if it was him v. ganso for same price, i think it's a no brainer because Ganso's injuries are REALLY worrying and cause Pastore has done it in serie A

Imagine we do infact get fabregas, that would be great fabregas, ganso :O they could probably switch cm/cam rotate

Great idea Okmilan

Why don't we dream bigger Big Grin This is a possibility, not a dream. Remember at this time last year talking about Ibra's transfer was the worst joke.

He has all the requirements for us, and is worthy of being call "President's gift".

Pastore and even Ganso have the potential, but I still doubt them could perform in big matches.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 05-10-2011

I dont want fabregas since the arsenal-bartha game.

He gave that game on purpose to bartha. I dont want to have to hear puyol and xavi talk about how cesc is unhappy and wants to 'come home' every week

Don´t know if I understood your point, Ca...

Of course we didn´t conceded, but we were luck to stay on the game with the amount of chances they created in the first-half. It was a total domination. We were with 1000 DM´s and tottenham was all the time in our area...

After Allegri change the line up in the second-half we started to create and Tottenham to retreat. Regarding no midfield... wasn´t gattuso, Thiago and Prince at the mid? How can you say we had no mid? Or maybe my memore is tricking me...

Well it's the fact we had to play thiago in midfield because so many players were injured/suspended that means we had no midfield. IT compromised out defense because we conceded the only way possible.... counter

See if we had more midfielder's available (as you recall we were missing 6-7?!) we wouldn't have had to use Thiago in midfield. Thiago at CB would have allowed us to attack more without fear of counter. I like Yepes a lot but at his age, he can be (and was) exposed for pace... nesta to a lesser degree, but him too

I've caught a few games. He can easily be next Pastore, but it should be noted he turned 19 a month ago, he's one for future.

him earning game winning pk a week ago:

and a short skils vid:

I'm gonna be honest. If you said I had 2 choices-
Ganso (30 mil), Inler/Montolivo/Asamoah (12-15mil)

or

Lamela (15 mil), Hernanes (25 mil)

I'd do latter. I'd try to pick up menez or Farfan on the cheap too (both can be had for under 10 mil, can offer the CAM/Wing/dribbler we need now, without putting pressure on Lamela. Also if we had hernanes we'd solidfy CM and with Ibra,Robinho, Pato,Cassano as forward options the pressure would be light on CAM

At this point im being sort of optomistic because we all know berlu is willing to spend, but to ask for more then 70mill to be spent would probably be more on the dreaming side.. 25m ganso/45m fabregas

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - abbeyleemania - 05-10-2011

i'd go for Hernanes and Lamela... i rate Gökhan inler but i dont want Montolivo at Milan... Asamoah could be good addition to us in midfield trio...

We all forget some details... Many european clubs wants to sign Lamela... A.Madrid, Lazio, Roma, Milan e.t.c. if we dont move quick, we can lose him...
