There is no way Milan can get Pastore for less than 40mil. Can we just forget about Pastore? Hernanes is more possible, as Lazio will always sell their best player then use the money to buy new players. Even if Hernanes cost 30mil, I think he is worth it, as he is entering his prime, great in Serie A,can be a leader and most importantly, he seems to be able to make others play better.
Then there is Honda for 15mil, and I am sure if Milan is to sign him, he will choose Milan.
Then There are Inler and Constant for depth who Milan can add for depth.
Lastly, Spurs won't make it to CL and Sandro might be available along with VDV.

If Milan are smart, they can sign 2 or 3 midfielders to regenerate the midfield.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - sylrus - 05-10-2011

we cannot sign honda anymore
we already take the eu spot for taiwo

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Jay Crisp - 05-10-2011

That means no Ganso either.I expect signings but not huge ones like we want.I expect smart signings in accordance with our budget whatever that is , I actually don't expect more than 1 maybe 2 players other than Mexes and Taiwo.

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - GeoTav - 05-10-2011

Taiwo should receive a French passport very soon, so he shouldn't take a non-EU spot ... Anyway, didn't the FIGC decide to change again the rule and give 2 non-EU spots again ?

About Ganso, it looks like we're going to give him up because of his new injury. It seems he'll be out for 3 months this time, and that is too much to invest 30+M, that means the guy will have been out for almost 12 months (when he'll come back) ...

ANother great talent killed by injuries ? Sad

The fact he "shines" at a middle/small Club and not at Argentine NT do not make you guys worried?? Gillardino is the first that come to mind when I think about him. Not the same at Italy NT(HUGE pressure) as in Fiorentina. Plus, didn´t Pastore also has a cronicle problem on the knee? I read this somewhere some time ago...

Look, it´s just a way that I use to rate players from Brazil, but in the big majority of the cases, it works. Of course I´m not here saying it´s a fact that Pastore will fail, just externalizing a serious concern... IMO, a big red flag.

Thoughts?

But doesn't Messi usually fail with his NT and offers bad/average performances for Argentine despite being one of the best, if not the best, player in the world ? Same can also be said for Cristiano Ronaldo ...

IMO, games with the NT aren't that important, of course, they can give confidence to a player, of course they can show how solid mentally a player is, but they aren't a way to rate players as with NT, you play one game once a while, and you aren't used to your partners, which can be a problem. If the guys around you don't play well or your coach doesn't know you well enough to use you in your best position, there aren't many things you can do ... It's why I don't really use NT games to rate players. And I think players from clubs like Palermo or Napoli have a lot of pressure, almost as much as in the biggest Italian clubs because their fans are quite "hot" ...

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - sylrus - 05-10-2011

its great if taiwo got a french passport
isnt ganso got an italian passport?
if they does have a eu passport
we can still go for 1 or 2(if what geotav said is to be believe) non eu player

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Beppe - 05-10-2011

Pastore is out of reach for us, Zamparini wont sell him to us, at least not for reasonable money.

Jesus Christ, how did i miss this one?
I am OK with Oddo. I mean, a certain comic relief might come in handy.

And an interesting piece on the trials and tribulations of Papa from athensnews (english).

RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - HO-YOUNG - 05-10-2011

on the whole issue of Ganso vs Pastore... i wonder how much of us here sacrifice the time to watch Santos/Ganso... i know there is a time zone concern with regards to when the santos games come on but we should really look at this Ganso kid... i watch him a lot and see how he impacts a game and dictates the pace and overall play, he doesnt pop in and out of the game... and how he have the ability to make you jump out of your seat... i watch Pastore some times... and he is no where near as dangerous and decisive as Ganso IMO... we should try and look beyond youtube to make a decision... as it relates to injury i would rather have Ganso fit for for half season than have Pastore fit for the whole season...
