You are right. It will never return to what it was. Which is why we should use what's happening now and keep growing internally. We can't count on Serie A to lift us up. So the only way is to raise our own revenue and value and forget about collective Serie A rights on the whole. In other words, just become what Bayern is to Germany or Real/Barca to Spain.
Back to Italian clubs being cheap and broke as hell, unless it's for development purposes, I would never loan a player to an Italian club. All they do is use it to get a player for "free" for a year and then send them back. None of them exercise buyout options. So what's the point!?

Italian teams can be a good loan landing spot because it helps the player get accustomed to the culture, language and league. I would only loan players to them if we want to bring the player back later to play for us. Selling players to them is basically an impossibility at this point

Pedulla: Zirkzee is getting closer to Milan for €40M, in addition to €10M commission. His salary will be €4.5-5M. Just final details that are missing.
Pricey for someone who scored less goals than CDK. Would prefer Sesko.

I don't think he plays near the goal enough to score more. He spends most of his time dropping deep and being that "false 9". We'll see if that changes in Milan (assuming we buy him).
I got my reservations and was hoping for a real goal-getter for the #9. Someone that will bang in 30 goals a season. But unfortunately, those guys cost 70/80+m. Unless you get someone like Gimenez/Pavlidis from the Eredivisie and hope they can bring the same level of scoring in Serie A.
But in any case, I am in no way disappointed. I think Zirkzee has proven to be insanely talented this past season and was a headache for every team that had to defend him, including Milan and Inter. We are getting one of the best players in Serie A for this past year and that's already a step in the right direction.

I think him and Depay are too similar so Depay was selected. But in any case, I wouldn't put too much thought into the Dutch selections. They have a way of screwing themselves with it always. Blind had a good season this past year, but he was awful for years before that and they kept taking him and starting him. They never gave Reijnders a good chance until he came to Milan and now Koeman says they can't play without him. They even have Wijnaldum in that squad. Crazy.

Zirkzee IF done quickly sends a good message around football about Milan. His quality is not exactly proven imo but we would be doing something good if we get him within the next couple of weeks.

Zirkzee seems a good player, but don't contribute enough. A big gamble really for that money. that said, we need someone that is more involved in play and can hold up the ball, Giroud was quite lacking on that account.
