RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Jay Crisp - 01-03-2012 You too should watch more EPL outside the top 6 the teams collapsed against Chelsea Utd Arsenal from 02-08 it's a bit better now , more than 60% of Lampards goals in each of his 20 goal seasons were penaltys or came against teams that were already 3 or 4 goals down....you can't ignore that fact either I'm not saying he was an overrated player just not better than Seedorf in his prime. Also in his best years in EPL 03-08 his goals tally was 02/03 6 goals 8 in all competition 48 games 03/04 10 goals 15 in all competition 56 games 04/05 13 goals. 19 in all competition 58 games 05/06. 16 goals 20 in all competition 51 games 06/07. 11 games 21 in all competition 63 games 07/08. 10 goals 20 in all competition. 40 games So in his prime yes he hit 20 goals in all competitions the EPL he got 20 goals once in 09/10 but not for 5 seasons in a row in the EPL as you said no he didn't , I Do watch EPL I'm Irish its shoved down our throats , I admire him better than Gerrard but if Seedorf took every penalty for almost a decade he too would have as many goals if not more. RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Gabriel426 - 01-03-2012 Slowdorf was never the main man for his team while Lampard was. That's the diff between them. RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Jay Crisp - 01-03-2012 Lampard hasn't won anything like this , 3 titles and 3 FA cups is what he has. Seedorf. Ajax Eredivisie (2) KNVB Cup (1) Johan Cruijff-schaal (2) UEFA Champions League (1) Real Madrid La Liga (1) Supercopa de EspaƱa (1) UEFA Champions League (1) Intercontinental Cup (1) Milan Serie A (2) Coppa Italia (1) Supercoppa Italiana (2) UEFA Champions League (2) UEFA Super Cup (2) FIFA Club World Cup (1) Also Lampard got abused by his own fan's club and country very unfairly IMO , and English pundit's and media because he never turned up in the big games. He's a great man to get a hat trick against Fulham but against the best at club and International level alway's had poor performances. If he had played with Milan or Madrid his trophy cabinet may be more impressive , but then again I'm not convinced he would of played much for those Milan or Madrid teams . He's among the first players Mou picked when choosing a line-up. He had a good tactical sense and was so fit that he broke the record, I don't remember how many hundreds, for playing consecutive games. The former record holder was a GK. Lampard is a midfielder, the position that runs the most. That's really a remarkable achievement. But like Hitman with Pato, sometimes I think you're kind of blinded by your hatred toward Seedorf if not to objectively recognize his achievement, at least to give credit where it's due. Never the main man? Well the definition of "main man" is obscure and pretty subjective but if you check out his statistics you'll find that on each of the 4 CL he won in three clubs he mostly played as starter, not as some lucky free-rider who happened to be in a club at the right time. All along his lengthy career, as a teenager he was the first choice for Louis van Gaal, won Eredivisie and CL, then La Liga under Capello, two coaches who are not known for their sentimentality. He added one CL under del Bosque then another two under Carletto, in 2003 as an attacking left-midfielder, then on crucial stages in 2007 as one of the double treq with Kaka. RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Beppe - 01-03-2012 Seedorf >>>>> Lampard BIG TIME. RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - WCmilan - 01-03-2012 beppe i second that and not just because im a milan fan lampard isnt that good RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - HO-YOUNG - 01-03-2012 (01-03-2012, 05:54 PM)Nalx Wrote:(01-03-2012, 05:03 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: Slowdorf was never the main man for his team while Lampard was. Lampard, Peter Crooch, Bonera, are in a group called etcetera. RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - Warro Bantan - 01-04-2012 Why all this back and forth over Lampard? Is there a rumor that we r gonna buy him? Seriously? RE: Winter Mercato 11'/12' - xudong - 01-04-2012 not at all. it is just zeekay's man crush on him.
