RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - xudong - 01-07-2014

Parolo would be just another Nocerino, IMHO. In a year, Galliani will be trying to sell him back to Parma or Bologna but no team would be willing to match the massive salary generously offered by Galliani.

and Jay, don't get me started on Matri. Angry That has the potential to go down as the worst purchase in Milan history, all taken into account. It is an absolutely fucked up deal. Facepalm

Thanks for clarifying your position on Banega nefremo, I thought you posted in the past you like him. Honestly, at 10m Banega seems a decent deal, even if personally I would do everything possible to secure Jorginho. Thing is, Verona apparently want to keep him until the summer, we look to be getting Sogliano in the summer and it's official that Allegri will leave in the summer, meaning a new project starts. If this is the case, we should be working towards securing a deal for the summer, as this season is all but a write off anyway.

As for Parolo, I just don't want him, reasons why are the same as everyone else.

Dev: I don't know if we have decided on the new coach, which could be an important issue. If not, it may make sense that we go slow on this particular winter transfer market, because every coach has a different philosophy and will most likely demand a new set of players (of course I am not talking about great players like Ronaldo that can help any team regardless). The last thing we want would be we buy a bunch of players that the new coach will hurry to get rid of as soon as he arrives.

It's tricky, the coaching situation.

It seems it's Seedorf. All the news is saying the contract is a done deal. I don't feel one way or another about him. He's a smart guy, a leader, and respected. He will definitely bring back the Milan culture, and I also feel he will not be comfortable with anything but top of the table, and challenging in UCL. If he has anything to do with Transfers, he will definitely be better than Allegri. He has a lot of connections as well.

Ideally, I wanted Prandelli. However, he's only focused on Italy in a very exciting World Cup coming up. I doubt he'd want to think about Milan for even 2 seconds. I doubt he'll go back to a Fiorentina/Roma type side. If he stays in Italy, it seems Milan is the best place for him.

The problem with Prandelli is that we need to make moves NOW. He won't be ready to take over until July, and by then we may be in Serie B.

I don't want Parolo, no way, no how, even to the point that fans should petition to Galliani that NO move is better than Parolo. Curva Sud have been very annoyed lately, but that's never affected Galliani in the past. Galliani needs to leave, and he needs to stop doing anything if he's going to be replaced in the Summer. He will leave the next Director with a huge pile of shit to clean up.

I thought about this too and the more I think , the more I realise it doesn't matter.Berlusconi is a crook a liar a cheat a corrupt person. They can say whatever they want to Dorf and ultimately they'll carry on the same , no good signings looking at free cheap or out of contract.Dorf could say get X Y Z and all they'll do is get cheap crap that plays in the same position.
They lied to Leo , Cassano Ibra said the same they were promised this and that none of it ever happened.

Doesn't matter who the coach is , the policy will remain Cheap Loan free troublesome...we'll be linked with genuine quality and see them join Napoli/Roma/Inter/Juve...new director new coach but the more things change , the more they stay the same

RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - xudong - 01-07-2014

Birsa is only on 300K salary (1/9 of what Matri earns) while he is miles more useful than Matri (which is not a compliment in itself). No wonder management loves him.

Jay, I think it will make some difference. Usually when a new coach arrives (particularly when it is the one that Berlusconi claims to like), he should get some new signings. Let's see who Seedorf will get (as we do know that Berlusconi seems to like Seedorf, until one day he realizes that Seedorf outcharms him :d).

At least, I am content knowing that Allegri is a goner. Interestingly, players perform better too knowing that. When Allegri was sent off against Roma, we played better; when Allegri announced that he will be gone after the season, we played much better against Atalanta. Icon_lol2

RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - nefremo - 01-07-2014

Looking at those salaries just gets me so pissed off! Why did we even need Silvestre. Panic buy at its best.

Don't even get me started on Matri, along with Birsa.

We could have sold Robinho but were holding out for more money....and now we are stuck with his salary. I would give these guys away for free just to get rid of their salary.

In what line of work is it acceptable to mismanage things like this!!??

Btw, yes Dev. I've mentioned on here before that I hoped for us to get Banega. Like I said, he's been a favorite of mine for a long time as I always prefer technical mids like him, like Seedorf, Pirlo, Xavi, etc, etc. I'd take those players over the types like Naingolan for example....although I'm fully aware that a team needs balance and both types of mids.
In any case....I don't know if someone like Banega is needed right now as that's a matter of preference and style of play, but for 10 mil it's a no brainer for me......especially when you waste 12mil on Matri, 4-5 mil on Silvestre (including salary), or are willing to pay 6.5 plus half of Cristante for Naingolan. If this is how Galliani values players, then Banega for 10 is an absolute incredible deal. Keep in mind....what you just read about Banega is extremely biased. Big Grin

You're right for the most part. The question is:

How do you consider someone "cheap" who has highest wage bill in Serie A, one of highest in Europe (more than Bayern Munich)?

How do you consider someone cheap who spends more than almost all teams in Serie A on signings, and pays 13M for a want away backup Matri to be your 3rd string Striker?

They're cheap to BUY quality youngsters, but overall they're not cheap. They actually WASTE a lot of money. Tons of money they waste. Year after year. It's amazing.

At the end of the day, you're right. Berlusconi is a crook, and a liar. Galliani is his puppet. People are starving because of Billionaires like him, so I'm not going to worry too much if he wastes his money.

I have always suspected something fishy when it comes to deals between Milan, Inter, and Juventus. But of course it is just a gut feeling of mine, and I know that many here don't agree.

Birsa at least is on a very low salary.

Speaking of Robinho, originally I heard rumors/speculation that we spread his salary (4M) to the entire period of new contract (3 years?). I knew that it was too good to be true and our management would be too dumb to pull something off like that. If Jay's source is reliable, Robinho simply took a 25% pay cut while extending the contract, which overall is a bad deal in my book. Very bad actually.

"Management" of this club is just amateurish, or, totally fucked up. Angry

RE: Winter Mercato 2014 - Jay Crisp - 01-07-2014

Xu Im off on Binho , I think he had a year on 4M left and spread it , not sure how as some places say he's on 4 others 3 ...

They do buy cheap for the most part , Bayern has a 23/24 man squad we well its 32 now I think...so the more players you have the more wages they pay , and some of them are ridculous.Mexes Matri Amelia Robi etc...just bleeding us dry , the dont spend big on transfers but waste the money elsewhere...
