RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-05-2011 If Galliani said they wan't to build a champions league winning squad to rival Real&Barca i'm sure they know that we need class in every position.. if they don't know this and they said the above^ then that would be pretty useless.. In my opinion it was very good getting Mexes/Taiwo on a free transfer, that way our transfer budget can be put towards the midfield and maybe attack. It's all we have to worry about right now imo. And what's the deal with Astori, will we be getting him back? I definitely hope so, he's like another Ranocchia but will come for like 5mln not 15 and he's alot more solid.. Rannochia will be another Materazzi, he's tall and good at heading out corners/last stitch tackles but thats about it, once pato gets a good touch to his side he'll be completely outpaced and gone // bad buy imo good thing we didnt get him. On another note, like I said before, I think allegris game plan is to get a winger to go somewhere in our attack.. someone who can burst through the box and finish someone who makes quick runs down the line etc, its fast ball which is what works nowadays especially in UCL because of high tempo, possesion football only works now if your the best in the business at it, like barca. Barca vs Real tactis (similar to what allegri wants to see) barca always wins, this is because they are literally the best at the possesion game. and bcus of messi who never loses the ball unless someone knocks him on the floor even then maybe not. anyhow if its possesion play we want we need a heavy midfield.. --Nasri---Sahin---Essien--- something like that.. barca have iniesta xavi busquets and mascherano, 2 CDMS and two L/RM'S naturally CAM's. We need a midfield consisting of two players with modest, good pace and creativity and a destroyer cdm someone like van bommel but younger and one of the best. in attack hulk/robben/farfan/ronaldo would look good with one of binho/pato/ibra with ganso behind them and ganso can rotate with cassano.. so many games to be played we cant afford to lose any attacking power thats for sure next year. I kind of sketch about brazilian players.. is it just me or after their best season they burn to ashes.. maicon is a shadow of himself,kaka,r9 as well gained weight same with r80, its weird.. but brazil doesnt have to worry about this they produce countless talents year in year out, 2-3 years from now there will be another ganso/neymar somewhere around the world and this saga will start all over RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 05-05-2011 (05-05-2011, 04:49 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: I don't think people are over rating Barcelona, as they are really a great side and is a level above everyone else at the moment. I never doubt Barca's quality since they are just great. No need words to tell about how they great they are now. But saying this team the greatest is out of proportion IMO since the greatest in my term should be more than what Barca have/did. As I said, they have only the best on Xavi, Iniesta and Messi. (05-05-2011, 04:49 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: The key about Barcelona is that, they have someone who is among the best of all time. As great as Sheva, Pippo, Rui Costa, Kaka were, they are no where near what Messi is doing today. Of course the duo of Cap and Nesta are one of the greatest pair of CB ever too. Some of their supporting cast are also best in the world, D. alves is the best RB in the world, Pique and Pugol are one of the best CBs duo, Xavi and Inesta are the best Mid duo and Villa is the best finisher in the game today. I don't think Messi is the way you described. Words like 'nowhere near Messi' have no base IMO since Sheva was one of the best striker in the world in his best time while Rui Costa was one of the best playmaker (if both not the best in their position in the time they have peak performance). From games I watched Messi, I still give more points for Ronaldinho, a player who could dictate the game by himself, not like Messi who really needs 1-3 players so that he can show his best (of course Ronaldinho also needs players but not the way like Messi does). Their CBs are not the best in the world right now, so are the fullbacks (Alves is very good fullback but I don't think he is the best right fullback now. The point it is not only 'the best on the position' but also 'the best in generations' which forces certain standard. And Alves is not the player who match the standard IMO). The defenders are good and helped by how Barca played (all moves in almost same time forward and backward as a system, either it is a defender or a striker giving tight space among the players). Villa is great striker but still many can match him or better than him but ok he is one of the best right now. GK is just ok. Their DMs' quality we can find in other teams easily. (05-05-2011, 04:49 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: You compare the Milan of 2005 and this Barcelona, but even if Milan won the CL that year, they still did not dominate the Serie A like what Barcelona is doing currently. Teams might not be as great now Well, coach has also influence on the team. We can see what Ancelotti's team in that time that we are 'so weak' against small team, not that we couldn't beat them but we had problem with 'ego'. The players need to know that they face similar quality team to give their best. Other part is of course that we didn't count Serie A as important as CL. We shouldn't also forget the qualities of other Serie A clubs and La Liga. Too much gap in La Liga compared to Serie A. I don't doubt the quality of Barca as a team and I give credit for them since they are, as like I said, just a great team. (05-05-2011, 04:49 PM)Gabriel426 Wrote: They are great team lead by the best player since Maradona. Are they the greatest team ever, that depends, but to me, I don't think there will be one team that could say they are the greatest team ever, as competitions will always be different between generations. Well, actually before Guiordiola, Rijkaard already built the team. And I still see the Rijkaard team (even some of players are same ones) are stiil match with Guiordiola's team (Deco vs Iniesta, Ronaldinho vs Messi, etc). I know Barca is great team now but many reasons influence how people see Barca. Barca is not unbeatable. With some transfers we can match their quality. (05-05-2011, 05:32 PM)abbeyleemania Wrote: You are underrating Boateng and what he did for us until now... Him and Robinho are the most important pieces of our 4-3-1-2 this season... He is physically very strong...a beast... His high pressing, being a wall and use his body well to make spaces for others...Whenever he got the ball, he plays very quick, 1-2 pass...He plays fast, never plays with the ball too much...He helps others too much...i agree with every point that Ca and 1983 talked about him... I don't underrate what he has been doing with Milan as I my self know and realize that Boateng and Robinho have been playing well and been significant for us in Serie A. We can see it when we played without Boateng, we found difficulty to play as a system since we missed the connection between midfield and forward. So is what Robinho did for Milan. But that shouldn't ignore us to evaluate Boateng weakness part, something I discussed in my previous post. I like Boateng, Robinho but they are IMO (at least for this season level of their performances), not the main figures who can bring us to glory. They can be a part of the team but we should have main figures to lead the team to the one of the best team in the world IF we really want to achieve success again in Champions League. (05-05-2011, 06:15 PM)Ca Rossonero Wrote: This barca team doesn't compare to sacchi/capello milans. Those Milan sides never had to resort to cheating LOL Agree. This cheating, moaning and similar things from Barca are arguably the best in the world. Real Madrid could match Barcelona, probably.
RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 05-05-2011 Enough nutting over barcelona. They don't deserve this treatment. They are cheats. Cheated in 2006 v. milan, 2009 v. chelsea and 2011 v. madrid. All semi finals they didn't deserve. Onto topics: It seems Seedorf is closer to renewal, Pirlo is farther RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 05-05-2011 I don't like it. Seedorf can be only sub player, he is just too old to play as starter. Pirlo should renew, not Seedorf. If we let Pirlo go, we need then two creative CM since I don't think we can achieve European success with only 1 creative midfielder on the field. Seedorf's tpye connection play with Boateng is not enough. We need more than that since with ony 1 creative midfielder on 4-3-1-2 is hard to dominate the game especially against top European teams. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-06-2011 I beleive seedorf should stay one more season and we should bring up merkel to see first team play more often, i think seedorf will influence him well because he has the abilities to become a seedorf type player. Pirlo though should renew as well for the creativity aspect, however if many other teams want him unless he really has a passion for milan he wont take a wage cut when he could probably be paid more or the same if he were to go to EPL or la Liga.. Next year if we're looking for CL success i hope that doesn't make us bail out of the scudetto race, i'd like to see 19 knowing one more season and we get the 20 Juve will not hit 30 anytime soon so if inter is our only competition that path is safely paved. I'm hoping Lazio drop 4th spot to Udinese because I'm sure after one season at Lazio for Hernanes he's not too attatched and surely would like to play champions league football and Sanchez may not go to inter due to them qualifiying <hopefully. Anyways, Roma is going to have a healthy transfer budget this year so I'm also looking forward to them making a return.. I don't want our rivals in seria a to be stronger then us, but it will force us to continue investing because Seria a will flourish again and our top4 clubs will preform well in champions league, this also paves way to bigger players wanting to come because of the intensity. The best players in the world always look for competition afterall. Also, some part of teams revenue are from a world-wide basis. When you're doing great on the big stage and domestically you'll create revenue from every which way.. We probably won't be getting our own stadium anytime soon probably not under berlus reign but hopefully one day that happens too. Forza Milan! RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 05-06-2011 I don't know why you guys kept saying, Pirlo should renew, Seedorf should renew....They should both be gone and Milan should replace those two with better players like Hernanes, Essien, Honda and Ganso. Personally, if rumors are true and Berlu are truth to his words or to a certain degrees. The defense will be better with the addition of Taiwo, Mexes and Astori as those three are a huge upgrade to Bonera, Legro, Papa, Janku and Oddo. The forwards are fine as long as they can stay healthy, esp since Berretta seems to be ready to make the jump. As long as they sign Ganso and one of Hernanes, Honda, and Essien, the midfield will be a huge upgrade, as these players are capable of running for 90 mins while creating magic with the ball. They are better than Pirlo and Seedorf for the current Milan side. Can Milan with those addition challenge for CL, ofcourse, but winning it will need some luck. Can this Milan repeat the League, they should as the competition in the league won't be getting that good. Inter will need an overhaul, as their squad is aging, but first will Leo still be their coach? I think Inter will be the main challenger for Milan next year, but like the old days, they will just be challenger and not winner. Juve is a lost cause as their lack focal point in their team. They are relying on DP, but unless he joins Cap Jack Sparrow in finding the fountain of youth, thats a mistake. Krasic is awesome but he is inconsistent. The squad got fine players but not great, they are having the same problem as Liverpool, got good players but they are not good enough on the big stage. Napoli will struggle the most as they just don't have the squad depth to play on two fonts. Udinese will be Udinese. Lazio will just like this year, they will sell their best players in order to raise money to buy two players. Roma, although with investments will not be a factor, as their leader is aging and they just need to many players to mount a challenge to Milan. I think the key to next season will be the first two months of competitions. Milan cannot afford to drop points and must come out with their gun blazing to get all the points possible. That way, they can manage to build itself a healthy lead for them come March and April. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - WCmilan - 05-06-2011 Krasic is fantastic at getting by his man but nothing he does really results in anything imo.. you're right about letting pirlo and seedorf go but thats only IF we get one of those midfielders you named which is what i was trying to say in my above post.. it would be great to see essien or hernanes at milan, sahin even. I also aagree with you on the Lazio part ^ i hope they also dont make CL so its almost a certainty that hernanes will leave, hopefully to us. Hernanes,Ganso,Mexes,Taiwo,Astori,Marchetti,Beretta,Merkel is a possible mercato for this summer... would we have ever dreamed of this 2 years ago ?
RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Gabriel426 - 05-06-2011 Nope, two years, we will be worrying about will Galli sell Pato for 50mil. And kept telling ourselves Borri and Hunter are great strikers. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 05-06-2011 you all underrate seedorf and pirlo and the general senatore's influence. You know who Abate thanked for his development? Gattuso, Zambrotta and Nesta. He claimed they helped make him understand what Milan meant and finer tune his game. Seedorf is constantly praised by players for being a leader in training and the locker room. Infact Cassano was asked when he came 'who were the leaders' he said 'seedorf, gattuso and ibra'. Milan's key has alwyas been youth learning from older. Maldini and costacurta with Baresi. Nesta and Sheva from Maldini, Costacurta and on and on. Thiago talks of training with Maldini and later, Nesta. He says playing with Nesta made him comfortable. Now a year later, he is the best CB in world with or without nesta, but not disregard nesta's influence. All you have to do is look at our record last year with and without nesta. With Nesta 45 points in 21 matches (more than inter). Without, 25 in 18 matches (bottom table). Even boateng and urby talk of it..... MY biggest regret is not rejuvenating sooner. It's important Milan keep those who love the shirt, and respect the shirt and are true professionals. It's what makes milan different from bartha, inter, madrid who sell there legends. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 05-06-2011 (05-06-2011, 07:45 AM)Ca Rossonero Wrote: you all underrate seedorf and pirlo and the general senatore's influence. I agree with you and do think the same about value transfer from old players to the young or unexperienced ones. The problem should be their wages (should be 1-2 mil euros per year), number of old players stay (a club shouldn't have so money old players) and if there are players who can play ahead of that old player (if the coach will play the old player as starter in almost every game). My concern with Seedorf is that if he stays, he could be picked up as starter so often by Allegri. And I can't stand to watch the past 2-3 years performance of Seedorf on the pitch while coach plays him due to his leadership, experience and intelligent. If Seedorf can take role like Costacurta at the end of his retirement (as backup players and as leader for young players), it is good if Seedorf stays. But not more than that kind of role (as backup like Favalli and Costacurta, as 2nd. sub or even 3rd. sub for starter not as 1st. sub choice). |
