RE: Summer mercato 2024 - ACMmike - 09-20-2024 I personally like Allegri and my top two choices are Allegri or Sarri right now. We need an Italian coach. There's nothing wrong with playing CL with Italian tactics, they've proven rather successful. Allegri made it far in CL many times and Inzaghi already played a final which had it not been for Lukaku playing against them they even could've won. These are teams spending fractions of what the teams that have been winning it have spent / are able to spend too. I think Ibra is trying too hard with people like Terzic or Fonseca to bring an entirely new ideology to Italian football. IF (big IF) it worked in CL, we would probably still struggle in the league. Given I really don't think we have the team to challenge for CL, an Italian coach would bring stability and bring our chances up of a scudetto or at least a good shot at it. That should be the priority, catching the second star and inter & winning something. Sarri and Allegri can do that. Not sure bout bringing in a foreign coach - Serie A is a very different league. My main issue as to why Fonseca MUST go is his lack of character even more than the results. Yes, I understand it can take a bit of time to start seeing results but the group just looks incoherent and demoralized and Fonseca looks like a lost puppy. It gives no reassurance for the future at all, a guy like Sarri or Allegri - they have balls and they'd show them in times like this. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Sampinjon - 09-21-2024 Thing with Sarri and Allegri - they're not respected by players and they're not leaders. Since we have some big egos, it is important. First one is in England still known as Keppa's bitch, Allegri lost locker room multiple times. Just remember his "reign" here - clans, "superstars" playing playstation till 3 am than missing trainings next day - he was just sitting in the corner afraid to react. Similar happens in Juventus - TWICE. Not to mention his "records" - he barely won rigged league titles with Juventus, despite having far strongest squad in the league. If there was no referee help, he'd be Italian Pochetinno who failed to win French league with PSG. He had some "excursions" into CL occasionally, but he was the one who doomed his team - just remember "brilliant tactics" against Bayern where flushed everything down the toilet within just few minutes etc. Considering, we don't have a leader amongst players as well - it is unlikely it will work. You must have leader, either on the field or on the bench. That's why Fonseca failed + he made it even worse with his bipolar episodes - from "I like you, you're very important player to us" to "f out of here, you're transfer listed, and you won't play a single minute if you don't go" within few days. Of course players won't like him - Is this going to happen to me? Am I next? Since we are not willing to spend for such a coach - than we must choose "lesser evil". Allegri, Tudor etc - they have nothing. No knowledge, no respect. Sarri at least have knowledge. Terzic, I don't know, but it seems he have some knowledge. Those others mentioned, as Sousa etc, are not even worth analyzing. Summa summarum, it's either Sarri or Terzic. I guess algorithm should decide between those two
RE: Summer mercato 2024 - nefremo - 09-21-2024 You are not wrong, but i find it funny to talk about "egos" in this squad. They've done nothing in their career with this club apart from 1 title. They walk around the field and sulk as if everything is someone else's fault and not theirs. Terrible attitudes many times, especially when defensive work has to be put in and sacrifices for the team have to be made. Yet, they got egos and we have to worry about that..... Man, just get rid of them and get players that will work for the shirt. You don't get to have an ego when youre trash 90% of the time. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Sampinjon - 09-21-2024 As long as they're here - softie coaches won't help. We need someone who knows how to handle spoiled brats and put them in their true places. Preferably to have knowledge as well. As it was Ferguson, old Mourinho etc. Things what Fonseca tried to do, as to leave them on the bench - it won't work, 1 game wont teach em a lesson, and you cant do it on the long run because alternatives are so abysmal that it would produce disaster when it comes to results. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Zio Fester - 09-21-2024 Fans turn on Julen Lopetegui as Chelsea beat West Ham. Their first choice manager could be sacked as well
RE: Summer mercato 2024 - reza - 09-21-2024 Partnerships with big things like New York Yankees help boost egos, just check our official Instagram account, it is a bit too much*. Business wise it is ok but on the pitch we need much better pros. Even if they dont vocalize leadership in the locker room they should on the pitch. *I am not saying other teams dont do it at all, but team situations/player characters are not always the same. Ego boost should come from achievements on the pitch not other things. RE: Summer mercato 2024 - Santino - 09-21-2024 Liverpool Eyeing £40m Move for 20-year-old Premier League Star. Any Guess who îs this about? LB RE: Summer mercato 2024 - honsano - 09-21-2024 Two big moves a coach needs to do is move to a back three as Calabria is permanently unreliable and Royal is just bad. The second move is benching Leao and trying others. We can’t play as a team defensively and just rely on his magic to get us out of jams. He is not the main reason for losses and he is immensely gifted. But if we really want to press effectively you just can’t rely on him. Yet, they got egos and we have to worry about that.....Took this right out of my mouth. I believe the scrutiny and spotlight on coaches vis-a-vis the players is disproportionate. Milan especially in recent times, we the fans are mostly critical and concerned about the coach, forgetting the players are very much as important, or even more important, than the coach you have. I look at our players, how they play, the lack of effort, missing simple, basic passes and I feel it's unfair for me to blame the coach. Just look at Bayern and Chelsea. I'm pretty sure if Milan had considered hiring Kompany or Maresca, Milan fans would have been up in arms screaming and protesting against hiring "mediocre coaches". But see Bayern and Chelsea having their best opening seasons, playing great football and getting results. Early days yet, I know. But still... Precisely why I agree with Roma fans for insulting their players and accusing them of getting coaches sacked through their failures.
