RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - Jay Crisp - 06-15-2016 Leggo report Berlusconi does not want to sell the club.He really wants to try the Italian Milan. As some have said if it meant Berardi Bernadeschi Insigns Rugani Verratti then fine , but with names like Baselli Giaccherini Immobile Matri its just pointless.I mean its absolutely pointless. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - nefremo - 06-15-2016 I don't believe anything anymore. Has he even left the hospital yet? How do they know what's in his head or what he's told to who? It's nonsense... Not aiming this at you Jay. I just think the media circus is getting ridiculous at this point. They have no clue! How do they know what's in his head or what he's told to who? It's nonsense...How dare you lay a personal attack on me... I think myself its what he wants.Hes tried the cheap route the free route the renewing good players way past their sell by date route..he even spent a lot last year.I think this is the last throw of the dice , Italian Milan. It will fail we will then be sold , but with another €100m loss the debt will be near half a billion no Europe for almost half a decade and the value will drop another €100m or more...then he'll sell. That I thinl is the most likely outcome.I see Immobile Baselli Giaccherini maybe coming in along with Matri Pavoletti coming back and an absolute disaster of a season happening.Bottom half finish.Comfortably bottom half. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - slifersd - 06-15-2016 In all honesty, I think the success of this deal does not depending on agreeing to terms any more. This whole negotiation, at this stage, seems like a game of chicken played by both sides. From what I can gather, the heart of the negotiation basically revolves around two issues, guarantee of investment and Berlu's involvement. If you really look carefully, the gaps two sides have on these issues really aren't that huge. Berlu wants guaranteed investment of 400M over 5 years. While that is a sizable amount, the Chinese were going to invest significantly to build this team back up to respective level anyway. And with all the cash they already made available, guaranteeing that amount isn't exactly difficult. Berlu's involvement in management, on the other hand, is a timing thing. Chinese wants him here for two years, and he wants three. Again, not exactly a grand canyon worth of differences. I have not been involved in a business deal of this magnitude before, but it certainly seems like we are in the stalemate phase of the negotiation now. Chinese is probably going "We will guarantee the investment, if Berlu leaves after 2 years"; While Berlu is probably countering "If you want me to leave after 2 years, then you have to invest at least 300M in the first 2 years." That stalemate, while looks frightening to outsiders, is actually quite typical for high level business deals. As the deadline of the deal gets closer and closer, the two sides will start showing their true hand, and end up agreeing on a deal. Almost every single Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiation between NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB vs the players ended up working out that way. The one thing that could collapse the deal to me, is Berlu's personal feelings toward Milan. Milan, for better or worse, is like a child of his. And to say goodbye after 30 years is an extremely difficult decision from an emotional perspective. Of course, us fans tend to think emotions should be eliminated from the decision making process (and it should), but we have to see the reality that it is difficult for Berlu to do that, especially at the tender age of 80. I mean, the guy has almost nothing left to do with his political party going nowhere and his children now in charge of his business. Giving up Milan is like giving up that last reason in your life to wake up every morning. As such, if we don't sell this time, then we are only going to sell after Berlu dies. The value of the team is tanking in front of our very eyes. If Berlu thought 700M isn't a good offer, he won't even get that much this time next year. With all the doom and gloom going on out there, I do find one silver lining in the reports. Berlu still has not shut down the negotiation with the Chinese. If he has no interest to sell, this is probably a good time to call it quits and plan for the new season already. The fact that he is still at the table, shows me that he is still at least somewhat interested in selling. He probably knows that even if Italian Milan is successful, there is a chance he might not even live long enough to see that team win anything. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - devoted_dm - 06-15-2016 Honestly I think the deal will happen. Like silfersd said, the negotiations are still ongoing, which means that there is a willingness on both sides to complete the deal. And even Berlu's brother said today that Silvio will sell if the buyers are willing to invest enough to bring Milan back to the top. I did see the Leggo report, but Leggo is one of those free newspapers that I really don't trust. Il Giornale, which from what I know is a serious newspaper, also wrote about the negotiations today, and they said that at the moment the parties are discussing payment deadlines and the future governance of the club. They claim that there are no disagreements regarding future squad investments and Berlusconi's role at the club. Apparently they are hoping to have a draft of the sales contract ready by Friday. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 06-16-2016 If Berlusconi was available and healthy and there was no denial/refusal today, on the 15th, then I would say it is happening. Whether Berlusconi being in hospital changes that not I am not sure. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - somedevil - 06-16-2016 Paolo Berlusconi says that Silvio is willing to give the Chinese a discount on the sale price if they commit to serious investments to reinforce the team. Let's pretend this is true. Then this would mean that Silvio wants to sell but he is also desperate to go out with one last big bang to get one last 'grazie presidente' from the fans. He would also see this as a sacrifice on his part. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - sylrus - 06-16-2016 if this is happening, i can see we buying lots and lots of incredible talent, cristiano ronaldo any 1?? RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 06-16-2016 There are some claims that Fininvest like what they have seen in the meetings and are ready to hand it to Berlusconi soon for a decision. |
