RE: Summer mercato 2015 - somedevil - 06-30-2015 It's official boys. Bonera is leaving. Today is fucking christmas. Never thought I'd see this day. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - nefremo - 06-30-2015 Ryo, my point wasn't if the midfield was going to be overrun. I'm in full agreement of that. If you saw my posts during the season you'd know that I agree with you on that. None of these midfielders are able to play under pressure because they lack technical ability and in most cases the speed of thought. But if you are saying that SES would help that because he tracks back, well then I disagree. He'll track back yes, but he won't help our team play better under the press. There is absolutely NO way that SES will help ball retention more then Ivrahimovic. Ibrahimovic also does NOT wait in the final third to "shoot". As a matter of fact, he's been "criticized" before for dropping TOO deep to pick up the ball. He will without a shadow of a doubt help our build up play more then SES because he'll come back for the ball, hold it, allow the team time to push up, not lose the ball, and also create. The only thing a team has to change with Ibrahimvic is the press.....in other words you can't play a high pressing game because he won't do it. BUT, that doesn't matter for us because we dot do that anyway and we defend in our own half. (Not sure what Sinisa will want, but if he wants Ibra then surely he is aware of this) Let's just agree to disagree. This is also coming from someone that is NOT ALL set on Ibrahimovic and I already said that I would rather first see a "magician" in midfield...someone that won't lose ther ball when pressed, someone that's able to break the press and pull the strings. *that midfield is not my preference by the way. I JUST used players currently in te squad to bring up a point. And imo, with those players, Ibrahimovic will be more help than SES without a doubt imo. That's not to say that I want Stephan gone. I want the kid to stay. I love the fact that he loves the colors and fights so hard. But he needs to re-establish his quality first and foremost. Dev, to answer your question...no, I don't think that second year team would've been better with Ibra. Eto'o + Millito was much better then just Ibra. But not sure how that ties in with our situation. We don't have an Eto'o and a Millito nor are we linked to a player of their quality so that we have to choose (them/or him vs Ibra). Sure I would rather have Suarez + Bacca instead of Ibra + Bacca, but I don't think anything even close to that is on the plate. I thought it is still unofficial yet? RE: Summer mercato 2015 - reza - 06-30-2015 France Football has an article saying good bye to Ibra??? EDIT: It's an opinion piece but still the timing is a bit suspicious. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - ACMILAN1983 - 06-30-2015 nefremo, the reason I asked about Inter is because I think it better exemplifies about what you could potentially have without Ibra in the alternative method of building a side. In Milan's case, I would rather see the club invest in players who will offer greater tactical flexibity or have more sacrificial personalities to work for the team. Maybe the club isn't able to get alternatives of that calibre, who knows what we have for this summer, but what I'm saying is that if there's a possibility of getting Ibra or building using this alternative method, then personally I choose the latter. That's why when I've said if Cavani's available to get and it comes to a choice between him and Ibra, I'd prefer Cavani. Just want to add I don't mind Ibra coming if he comes. In that instance, he will make the side more competitive for the next season or two, but then should be moved on. If he leaves France as France Football says, then he's done exactly what PSG bought him for, provide short term success while they start their bigger project. Edit: Just a minor bugbear of mine, but is it possible to tone down the swearing a little? I'm guilty of swearing on occasion on the board too, but in this Ibra debate and in general there's been more swearing than really necessary and while I understand the debate has been heated, I really don't want this to end up like other boards where it's just constant. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - sylrus - 06-30-2015 what a day!! what a lovely day!!!!!! RE: Summer mercato 2015 - am I Milan enough? - 06-30-2015 To me, as long as mgt is not able to show/indicate they are seriously having a long term plan to build the team while there is a chance to get Ibra back tomorrow, I say sign him. I cannot withstand 10th place every season without any plan to come back stronger. Thank you Bonera for past wonderful years ![emoji18] Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk RE: Summer mercato 2015 - slifersd - 06-30-2015 Bonera and Muntari gone in the same day? Holy hell, we are finally making progress! I don't even care if they do resign Mexes, just the fact that we are finally clearing our team of the deadwood is worth celebrating. RE: Summer mercato 2015 - Revolver - 06-30-2015 I haven`t read all posts about Inter with Ibra and with Milito and Eto`o instead, but I think that at the time on a LONG RUN Ibra was more worthy than those two. People tend to forget that the season when Inter lifted CL trophy was Milito`s best by far, and he never had a season like that before nor afterwards. Ibra has won titles with Julio Cruz as his partner in attack. But I agree that Mourinho would never won CL without all 10 players defending, and add to that Eto`o is without a doubt the hardest working striker of his generation. Inter`s CL glory has happened because all pieces of the puzzle were there than season, and not because they replaced Ibra. Anyway, my opinion, I agree with Hassan, Ibra is a must get. We need money to build a team and to get that money we need a proven superstar in our team. Ibra is in top three players currently and he has one or two great seasons left for sure. To get a younger player of his caliber we`d need 80 million of euros.
