RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-27-2011 Gabriel, you just don't get what I'm saying.... Did I ever say gilardino, R9, R80 or ANY were good transfers? NO. Did I say Gila is better than IBra? NO. Those were all horrendous buys too. Why should Milan with limited budget (and we do have a limited budget compared to most european heavy weights. We make A LOT less money and pay more tax. Those are facts. How can we compete financially with Barca who earned 398 million last year and Milan earned 235) Ibrahimovic is a great player. I'm not denying that, but Honsano hit what I'm saying on the head. He's wildly overrated. 3 bad games? He hasn't scored from open play since mid january. He slows down the attack. Not Seedorf. Not Pirlo. Incase you didn't notice, we didn't look slow with seedorf v. Inter? Why because he played deeper and used the ball for pace. People want to look a players leg's as a measure of fast place. Nothing is faster than your mind. Seedorf making a quick pass to Boateng and Pato and Robinho on a counter is faster than Ibra getting ball and sitting on it. Does that make sense?! Is Xavi fast? No. But his brain is faster than any barca player (for ex). What does it matter if he can't dribble thru players or blow by them with pace when he's able to place ball into space to messi or pedro or whoever who CAN do that. How have we won with Ibra? Ugly most everytime. You play the ball into him, he does what he wants. It works a lot of the time cause he's a monster, but not one without flaws. Clearly it does in serie A. But I don't think it'll ever work in the ucl and hasn't. And it's great you compare a 21 year olds UCL record v. a 29 year old. About as relevant as this being Ibra's first year at Milan. He's played in ucl for a decade. And 7 of those years at big clubs expected to challenge. None have. Do yourself a favor and watch tottenham games again. Milan plays ball to zlatan and he's marked and can't pass it off 90% of the team. But he doesn't move, and so he takes up whole center. Pato and Robinho are forced to run off wide angles with worse shots. It's just not a good tactic. Heck look at man utd. Why do they drop berbatov (leading scorer in EPL) in ucl games? Same reason. A more dynamic moving partnership works in europe better, than static CF who wants time on ball ---- To sum up. I DONT THINK HES AS GOOD AS HIS FEE OR WAGES. I know he's a great player but he's simply not worth it to me. I'd rather use that money in midfield and find someone modest upfront. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - HO-YOUNG - 04-27-2011 all those defending ibra... just remember he is a good league player who can score goals when the team wants it but not when the team needs it.... he is nothing more than a big game no show!!!! i must also say that i am grateful for his contributions this season... RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - ElMago99 - 04-27-2011 @ CA Rossonero I understand your criticism of both Ibra & Milan's transfer policies, as I do agree with some points you make. However, as I notice you post nearly 1 out of every 3 posts in this section, perhaps you over-post and then start stating things you don't mean. Ibrahimovic is a great player, (he's won the League Championship for past 7 years). He's one of the best strikers of his generation. He's very talented, and has done a great job for us this year. 14 Goals in League, 11 Assists, 4 Goals in CL, 1 assist, that's very good, and IMO not even his best. However, having said that, there's a few problems. First, he's played as a First Striker but he actually prefers to play as a Second Striker. Therefore, he should be able to play with Pato, but hasn't played as well as he should have. Furthermore, the game slows down when he is in, and the team revolves around him because of his style of play. With Robinho/Pato or Robinho/Cassano, there was a lot more free flowing movements to our attack. With so many games I think we will have the ability next year to see Ganso behind Ibra & Pato, Ganso behind Robinho & Pato, Ganso behind Ibra & Robinho, as well as Cassano in there as the first sub. Ibra & Inzaghi is another option which is excellent. I'm very happy with our attack over all. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-28-2011 I'll drop it. Quite frankly, I didn't want to keep debating this, but I have a problem where I have to reply . Just a bit frustrated because I feel the simply point I'm making (which isn't he's bad but he's not needed/a tactical hinderance on the rest of our squad maxing out) is overlookedAnyway back to rumors, here is list of players out of contract in 2011: http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2011/01/19/2312686/2010-11-end-of-season-bosman-list-all-the-players-available RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - theaxeofpain - 04-28-2011 (04-28-2011, 12:22 AM)Ca Rossonero Wrote: I'll drop it. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - cuoremilan - 04-28-2011 (04-27-2011, 10:17 PM)Ca Rossonero Wrote: How have we won with Ibra? Ugly most everytime. You play the ball into him, he does what he wants. I think your talking about latest impressions, and his dip in form came along the time the whole team was playing bad, with Seedorf being off (no don't even dare to say Seedorf was off cause Zlatan was playing and limiting him, that wasn't the case, Seedorf was having a dip in form a very bad one, which is normal since he's 35 and his position wasn't helping him either, but it was mostly a dip in form, not anything related to Zlatan), Pirlo and Boateng injured (Boateng not the most creative or super technical guy, but he gives us an edge there)..so creative sources went down and we had to rely on the long ball to Ibra tactic mostly, cause its the easier to use when you're full of DMs in the midfield. I seem to recall apart from this april, that our novemeber-december period was the best football we played and Ibra was there, starting, scoring, assisting not being a tactical issue at all, not limiting our game to long ball to Ibra. You have good points overall, many of which I agree, but I can't agree with that part, cause you're just being unfair there. As for the free agents: bring back Tomasson! .RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Ca Rossonero - 04-28-2011 Seedorf and Pirlo didn't have dips in form. They were just played out of position. Both those players are still the most important player to our attack. And if you're discussing november/december. Our football was best cause we found a way to play robinho and boateng uptop and pirlo picked them out. Movement + space, pirlo is as lethal a passer as there is in the world. On a different note, I simply don't buy xavi being better than pirlo. He just played in a team where he has space and a million runners to pick out. It's not surprising pirlo's 'decline' coincides with sheva/kaka and co all leaving, seedorf aging and milan becoming static. A good passer needs someone to pass to. RE: Summer Mercato 2011 - Siregar - 04-28-2011 (04-28-2011, 06:42 AM)Ca Rossonero Wrote: Seedorf and Pirlo didn't have dips in form. They were just played out of position. Both those players are still the most important player to our attack. Agree about Pirlo but not Seedorf. Be realistic, he is already 35 years old. I don't buy his performance recently. Some great games won't erase many bad games from him in the last couple of years. If he stays, he will play and I don't the team sacrifice only to accommodate him. Allegri should have fresh players who can move, move and move their ass including when the team in defensive duty. Even a striker should have the ability to do that. Xavi is overrated. He is surrounded with very good and offensive players, not only beside and infront of him (the midfielders and forward-winger) but also the fullbacks. We have seen how great Pirlo if he is provided such quality players. |
