There are plenty of players I would get rid of before Rami. He is our only centre back with some value. Problem with other players are that nobody wants them, so not easy to get rid of... I'd like us to keep hold of Rami.

So...Inzaghi is staying on as coach despite the defeat in Coppa. And some financier said last week Milan is going IPO. Interesting developments.

Well, interestingly Pippo said tonight that he wants to switch to 4-4-2. That has apparently been his plan all along, but he said he will accelerate the process now because we were far more balanced tonight once he switched to that formation.
I am actually curious to see if this could improve things. We now have Cerci (played very well tonight, I thought), Honda, Suso and Bonaventura who can all play as wingers. Menez could also be put in that position in case of emergency, I suppose, and Abate was originally a right midfielder, as far as I can remember. It does make sense to bring in Taraabt then, as he can also play in that position.
And it also makes sense to buy Destro and keep Pazzini, as we'll be playing with two forwards.
I honestly think this is a very good idea, as we tend to be outnumbered in midfield in a lot of our matches. Obviously the idea of a 4-3-3 is that the two wingers in attack will defend when we are not in possession, making it a 4-5-1, but if they can't get back fast enough, it still leaves us exposed to counterattacks. 4-4-2 should provide a bit more balance in that respect, and the idea of Menez teaming up with Destro is very exciting, I think.
A lineup like this would probably work pretty well: Lopez - Abate, Rami, Bocchetti, [new left back], Cerci, De Jong, Montolivo, Bonaventura - Menez, Destro.
Anyway, some journalist in Italy said that Berlusconi has brought Milan back to the point that the club was at when he bought it from Farina. I think that is a bit harsh, all things considered. Like Galliani said when asked this question last year, we have to remember that he and Berlusconi literally saved Milan from the courts back then, so there's no way things are that bad now.
And even though we're having a truly horrible season, we should remember that Milan's worst league position during Berlusconi's reign didn't happen last year, not the year before, and probably not this year either, but in the otherwise glorious 90s. In 1996-97, we finished fucking 11th, and came 10th the year after.
You think losing 3-1 against Lazio this weekend was bad? In 1997, Juve beat us 6-1. It kinda puts things into perspective. I think we also need to remember that we are not the first big club to have a few truly horrible seasons in a row.
I believe that football is a game of cycles. You have some seasons where absolutely nothing works out, and you have seasons where the team seems able to pull off the most incredible feats.
Yes, I know that we don't have the same resources now that we did then, but given our fanbase and the resources we do have (not just money, but the size of the organization itself), it is near impossible for AC Milan to fade into obscurity, or to keep playing this badly forever. Eventually things will change. It won't be this season, but who knows about next year?

It's normal to be mad, but it's also normal to be positive.. It's only a matter of time before we have a proper squad put in place.
Rubentus, even though they got relegated so maybe a bit different, endured a few horrific seasons before they came back up. Merda is also no better off than we are right now at all, they bought a few good players but they aren't doing better than us I'lll tell you that much.
On a separate note, given we've signed Bocchetti, very close to finishing up for Destro and Antonelli, plus Munoz.. If we add Paulinho to that then I completely rule out the quality of our players being our issue if we still continue to play poorly afterwards. Right now, I still think we have decent players and a good squad, but we're missing a few key components. We need a leader and world class midfielder to really lead our midfield.
Montolivo showed today that he can play a lot better than he did in the last game against Lazio, but he still doesn't convince me too much - especially as our captain.. I feel like Abate should be given the armband for his work rate, the passion he puts in as well and hes been with us for a very long time.
Rami is our only good defender, in fact a classy defender at that. If Bocchetti plays like he did before he left Italy, and Rami continues like this, then we have our CB pairing. Alex seems to be past it IMO. His heading ability and strength is there, but he's a bit of an oaf in possession. That being said, I feel like he was rushed back into the starting line up right after recovering from injury - so I wont rule his quality out right away.
Finally, I feel like with all of Elsha's injuries, and given the investment he is in our squad, he might be a big part of our problem. He was bought for 10m, should be our starting LW, and could have gotten us at least 25-35mln euros a couple of seasons ago.. If a team offers us anywhere around 20mln now I'd let him go, and invest in a more consistent young talent who can be there for us all year round. That being said, I still hope for els to succeed but I don't want another Pato situation..

The question is how long? With G is in charge until he dies we're looking at another 10 year zero?
All the players we're linking with won't solve our problem in the midfield. We need a dynamic ball playing MF who can take the ball up front (dribble, make vertical passes ...). Right now we have 0 MF who can do it. Paulinho simply isn't that type of MF either
Montolivo is horrible yesterday (FOTM acc. to GdS). And Rami is below average. The guy's positioning and decision-making has always been terrible since he joined us. I don't know why people rate him so high. He's not starting material and should be bench player. I don't follow Bochetti but I have the feeling that it might be another Zapata's case which people hope he would return to the good old days
I like Antonelli though. Hope we can get him and solve our left back problem now that De Sciglio's form drops

At best that what we'd have , looks a lot better now.My only concern us Pippo he is an abysmal tactician cant adapt he's just poor and nothing will change that.
