RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 03-15-2014 If someone doesn't start a new thread I can, but .... someone dooo itttt
RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 04-02-2014 So in today's presentation of the new headquarters Casa Milan Barbara said she will travel to the middle east and America to find "partners". Already speculation is 20-30% share of the club will be sold. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - maharaja - 04-02-2014 So, the investment money will come from the "partners" and not from the Berlusconi family? RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - Nalx - 04-02-2014 Oh you mean that kind of partner. At first I thought she was looking for new boyfriend. If I were an investor, I wouldn't settle for 20-30% and watch B&G fumble around with my money. If takeover is not an option then I want nothing less than controlling interest. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 04-02-2014 Here's the comments made during the presentation today: http://www.milannews.it/primo-piano/live-mn-lady-b-no-ad-una-cessione-sa-ad-una-partnership-la-mia-famiglia-continuera-ad-investire-kalma-ecco-come-sara-casa-milan-140824 Also the English version on the official site: http://www.acmilan.com/en/news/show/151943 It's actually very, very interesting and gives an idea of where this club is progressing for the future. I like the ideas and things discussed, but it depends on how successful it is. Other parts, the new stadium and partnerships with investors is again very interesting, but let's see what happens. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 04-02-2014 @maharaja No one knows @Nalx lolActually I am not sure why a clubs needs two separate infrastructure projects near or at same time. Even if Casa Milan is a small scale compared to a stadium still I don't understand having two. EDIT: Thanks Dev RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - ACMILAN1983 - 04-02-2014 Right some interesting videos regarding Casa Milan. First is the presentation in English: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqiwzQ8NZno&list=PLo0t1-wwTA7m3obmWvwLD-X9yrfuyVLkK Next in Italian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R_8y0dOIek&list=PLo0t1-wwTA7m3obmWvwLD-X9yrfuyVLkK Third is a concept video of what Casa Milan is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L02dWM2OMok&list=PLo0t1-wwTA7m3obmWvwLD-X9yrfuyVLkK There's also an article which highlights the features of Casa Milan: http://www.milannews.it/altre-notizie/il-milan-ha-una-nuova-casa-tutte-le-caratteristiche-140881 Right, regarding what's been said in this conference, I'm very excited and am on board with this project 100%. At some point last year, I wrote some posts about wanting Milan as a business to move forward into a modern era and I spoke about the idea of creating a "village" where you'd have a place for Milan to run a variety of businesses, which would include a museum, restaurants, stores and other lucrative facilities. I also mentioned about the idea of bringing the fans closer, mostly through the use of technology and social media. This is essentially what Casa Milan sounds like the beginning of, as a method for the club to be more than just a football club. If this comes into fruition, then we're finally talking about Milan entering football as a business in the way United, Barcelona and Real have done with great success. Also, if the global concept develops, then we have the opportunity to become innovators in the industry, which is surely exciting. As for the points Barbara, Jaap Kalma and Fabio Novembre (architect) cover in the conference, here's a summary: - The architect had this to say about the name, Casa Milan... "I got the name of the club: Milan is the English name of the city, this word is also the word Man, that man, which must be at the center of everything. " - Milan are considered a family and therefore like a lot of families are now moving home. Via Turati will be missed, but we're moving forward. - The stadium is a very real project, with the Expo area just one possibility. It's key to moving forward to compete with the biggest clubs. If it was up to us, construction would have already begun. - Casa Milan isn't just about moving headquarters, but also new means of generating revenue. - A new museum will be created called Mondo Milan (World Milan), starting off with celebrating our history, but with a view to looking at the present and future too. There will be a complimentary smartphone app to use when visiting the museum to enhance the experience. - The move to Casa Milan was decided not just for bigger offices, but also for it's strategic positioning in the city and proximity to San Siro. - There will also be a square in the new location to relax and enjoy, but also celebrate big events and successes of the club. - A large screen will be placed on the front building, usually to promote the club and players etc. but during the 2014 world cup (and in the future) will show live matches for fans to come together. - A new MilanStore run directly by the club (for the first time) will be at Casa Milan. - A restaurant called Kitchen Milanello, a second branch of what's currently at Milanello will be opened. - There will be a library of books related to Milan and our history. - There will be a matchday ticket office. - Barbara says Casa Milan is much more focused to build a relationship with fans, which previously wasn't possible. - A large focus will be developing relationships with sponsorships from the Middle East, as well as targeting Asian markets, particularly China. - Our revenue is currently 60% from tv rights, 15% from San Siro and the rest from other sources (i.e. merchandise). The idea is to increase the share of the "other sources". - Barbara says she learnt a lot from Silvio about Milan growing up and talks to him about tactics, but when it goes more in depth, Silvio talks to Galliani, which she's fine with. - On not reaching Europe and the budget, she says she's not worried by a year without success. We only won the league 3 years ago and the last 30 years have seen exceptional success. - 150,000 people (I presume visitors) are expected at Casa Milan in the first year. - Barbara denies the sale of the club by the Berlusconi family, but the club is looking at partners to invest in the club, with hopefully visits to the Middle East and America proving fruitful in the future. - Barbara's relationship with Galliani is apparently positive, although she's admitted they had different ideas in the past. - She found some comedy impersonation on tv of her funny. ![]() - On recent losses, she reaffirms her family's commitment to Milan and is looking at these ventures to increase revenue as part of the solution. - On Maldini, she says he's a symbol of Milan and as far as she's concerned he's welcome to return if he wants to give a hand. As all fans, he wants to see Milan at the top and so his feelings are understandable and there's no problems with him (I assume this is in answer to recent rumours that his interview left many sore), while she has confirmed they have spoken. Phew, that was meant to be a summary, but ended up pretty long
RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - reza - 04-02-2014 Longer is better ![]() Thanks. RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - WCmilan - 04-02-2014 Looks like things are beginning to get moving finally. Thanks for posting all the info Dev I wonder when our stadium will be built.. San Siro is a fairly large and intimidating stadium IMO, I'm hoping our new stadium will be similar. I find the new juve stadium a little dinky but it's very modern and clean looking, plus a new stadium in the opening few years will attract more fans not only to watch Milan but to check out the new stadium itself. This Casa Milan looks pretty cool, Milan should get more involved with social media as well like the other top clubs are doing (namely EPL clubs). RE: Venting, sell the club, etc. thread - Nalx - 04-03-2014 Thanks for the summary Dev. And WCMilan, a dinky but sold out stadium with properly placed stands can be intimidating too. That's what I like the most from EPL where the atmosphere at 25k-capacity stadium is often more fascinating than half empty 80k seater like San Siro. Hopefully we'll hear more about this new stadium project in the not so distant picture or we risk getting further left behind clubs like Juve, Roma or even Udinese who are rebuilding Friuli stadium. |
