For those of you who think we will play Aquilani & Seedorf at once, or Boateng, Aquilani and Kaka, that is not what will happen.
AC Milan may attack in the league against certain teams when it tactically calls for it, but our tradition has been as a typical Italian team to score once or twice and play a lot of defense. Italy (comprised of a semi-Milan midfield) won the World Cup with Gattuso, Pirlo, Perrotta, Camoranesi, etc. by allowing the other team possession but playing sound tactical defense, combined with counter-attacking play.
I just don't feel we have the players to play all-out attack like Real Madrid & Barcelona. Expect 2 or 3 DM's which is what Allegri has shown he likes. Eventually, we'll need younger, more dynamic, 2-way midfielders (Cesc, Hamsik, Oezil), and not specialists like Kaka (plays very little defense), and Gattuso (no offense).
I personally thought Hamsik was great for our formation as he works very well at the top of the diamond, can do many things, and runs into the box (similar to Boateng) which free's up our strikers.
