Bakaye Traore

Looks all set to join with the player himself confirming he'll be playing for us next season, I thought it worthwhile to open a thread for a relatively unknown player.

I can't say I've seen much of him, but his attributes as a midfielder appear to be suited to what we look for in our midfield. He's done really well of late and played pretty well against both French title challengers (PSG and Montpellier). Here's hoping we've landed ourselves a diamond in the rough.

Some stats regarding him:

I'd say that 27 years old is a bit late for someone to still be considered a diamond in the rough..don't you think so Dev? Big Grin

That's why he said he was "hoping" for it to happen, not counting on it to happen. Big Grin

I hope not; and I hope that you are joking. You are joking, right? Big Grin If that happened again, we would turn into a joke. For very little profit, we ruin our reputation.

IMO, Traore is a midfielder. Foreign defenders often find it hard to adapt to Italian style, and would always struggle at least a little bit to start with. Midfielders should have an easier life. Smile

It is late, but hey Luca Toni did it as did Di Natale Wink

I'm not expecting much more than a useful squad player, but there are some qualities that interest me in Traore. Apparently he is poor tactically, which worries me a lot too.

Don't forget another late bloomer, Oliver Bierhoff. Okmilan

straight to the bench in my opinion, management hoping he'll turn out to be another Nocerino, we'll see.
